Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe staff was very nice and the rooms were well furnished. Also the air conditioner could cool down the room in minutes, which is a big plus. It was quiet and you could rent scooters there for a good price. In 10min you’re at the centre of the island. All in all I would totally go back and can really recommend this place!

United KingdomThe walls in the bedroom were a bit thin, so we could hear our neighbours chatting a bit late into the night, but not really a big deal. This is no reflection on Greenery, but the island is very hilly and we weren't confident about taking a scooter to a bay that involved some really steep hills and drops, so you're a bit stuck. We didn't want to go on a crowded boat trip so booked a taxi (all are 4x4's) on a couple of days which made it a bit pricey, but we were happy and safe and could take our time snorkelling.
Greenery was a great place to stay. There was a really good on site restaurant with a wide ranging menu where we ate for most breakfasts and a couple of dinners. It was closed for a couple of days and a very short walk to the main road is a fabulous French cafe (open til 5pm) that did perfect for breakfast. Plus a shop very close too. The room was a good size, with a great shower, good a/c and very friendly and helpful staff. Greenery organised a taxi for us, there is a free shuttle to and from the pier, a book swap, lots of seating if you want to get out of your apartment. It was red hot when we were there so we didn't capitalise on the tiered garden area, but it looked really nice if you could get in the shade. We rented a couple of bokes for the day for a great price and scooters were also available. The location meant we could easily walk to the main street where there were loads of restaurants and dive shops and if you're feeling energetic you can also walk to Shark Bay and the John Suan (spelt wrong!) viewpoint.

United KingdomWe marked down because we had an issue with ants in the room, they did a deep clean but unfortunately the issue wasn't solved. The WiFi wasn't great but this seems to be the same issue across the island. The only other thing I'd recommend to the hotel is to do up the bathrooms as they aren't great. Other than that an amazing stay!
The staff were so friendly and helpful! We rented a bike from them which we would recommend as taxis on the island are over priced so it works out much cheaper! Beds were comfy, good air con. They said they are building a swimming pool next year which will be amazing! We will definitely come back for that!

United KingdomWe were initially worried as location is not the best, but it's not a big deal since you can get the scooters during your check in and go anywhere with it.
Staff was really nice and helpful. They rent scooters (no documents or deposit required) which is quite helpful and avoid having to deal with potential scammers. I sprained my ankle and had to go to the hospital in Samui, the staff simply handled everything for me (from shuttle to buying ferry tickets and carrying my luggages inside the ferry). Really good people. Room was good as well, nothing to complain.

RussiaThe best place I stayed on the island! Clean and spacious rooms with every day service. The balcony is big and it’s quiet because far from the main road. Of course a lot of nature sounds but it’s expected on the island. You can rent a good bike there. It’s not on the beach but very easy to drive, no big mountains of curvy roads on the way.

Newly built, spacious, pristine, modern rooms. Great location, close to shops and restaurants and easy access for moving around other parts of the island. Really kind and helpful staff. We were able to rent both bicycles and scooters directly from the hotel. They also booked a snorkelling trip for us with Oxygen company. Highly recommended.

IrelandThe pillows were too big. On the islands, it is best to take accommodation near the sea, ideally within a 5-minute walk maximum
The room was very clean and big enough. We rented bikes and explored the island. Koh Tao is the best place for relaxation, swimming, and snorkeling. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very nice resort tucked away down a side road. We booked here as we loved koh Tao and wanted to stay a couple more nights. It’s a bit more expensive but worth it. They provide free water and taxi service which saves some money. They also do bike rental at the hotel which was a little more expensive than other places but good as no deposit needed.

GermanyNo elevator. The front door of the room had pretty large gaps, so smaller insects could come in easily. The path to the hotel is very bumpy and dusty. It's a little drive to the next beach (which we knew before) and the roads around are very steep. In total still recommendable for the moderate price!
It was very clean and seemed to be quite new. The staff was very welcoming and attentive and helped with everything they could. Free pickup-service both ways from and to the pier. On the first pickup trip, they provided ice cold water, which was such a great gift at that hot afternoon! The balcony had a good size, also the large fridge was nice. You can rent scooters there. A lot of restaurants and one supermarket within walking distance.

United KingdomWe had a bit of an issue on the day we arrived with payment as their card machine didn’t work so they asked for one passport to keep until the next morning (option to pay in cash), which they returned as soon as we paid and the card machine was fixed. The toilet in our room clogged up without putting tissue paper down there, but we went to reception and then sent someone to come and fix it straight away.
The property seemed new, rooms were clean and comfortable rooms. We really liked the little restaurant on site for breakfast (this was closed without any notice for 2 days which was a bit disappointing). The staff were lovely, they offered scooters for a reasonable price (and didn’t take our passports). They also offer free lift to the pier on checkout.

United KingdomNot so quiet rooms. Very thin walls between rooms. The cheapest motorbikes are quite bad (not enough power to go uphill). I saw some ants in the room but it was not such a big problem for me. Good wifi in the morning (~100mb/s) but terrible in the evening (<3mb/s on test speed site)
Helpful staff. Tourist information and bike renatl at the reception. Comfortable bed, quiet air conditioning. I really liked the free transer from/to the pier on check-in and check-out
