Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSome of the staff struggle to understand English. Location is rather private - which means you need to rent a moped unless you are an introvert. ** this place is perfect for social media people, but unfortunately we are not so it may or may not irritate you**
The room is huge and very cosy . Was so surprised with the free minibar which was a result! ( snacks and soft drinks) . The view is gorgeous! I wish I had spent more time there. As well as the pool !!! Breakfast is ok but freshly baked bread is delicious!!🍞

United KingdomSome staff didn’t seem that happy. I recommend to wear mosquito spray as sandfly’s in the area are very high and I was covered in bites. This isn’t the hotels fault but just something to bear in mind.
This hotel is absolutely stunning. It has a private beach which is so picturesque an has a very calm atmosphere and the rooms are beautiful.

BelgiumTurns out I have a huge head and there are only a few larger motorbike helmets available. It's is mandatory to wear helmets on motorbikes in Thailand (and a T shirt) and it's much safer too. However, this is not heavily enforced. For those looking for a large sandy beach, I advise to take a shuttle or bike to Tolani beach or walk up to Khlong Hin Beach (walk straight through the next door resort). There's a few small sand stretches in Hide Out resort itself but also wooden platforms with sun lounges over rocky shores, sun seats with straw shadings & private lounge beds in a neatly kept lawn, as well as swings on the lawn or in the water, etc. I don'tneed the sand myself but just so you know. A big negative point is you don't want to leave ;)
Staff is very friendly and helpful in Thai and English. There were a few issues that got resolved straight away to satisfaction. And even a last minute transporation was sorted for us, hassle free. The small cove in which the Hide Out is sited is ideal for snorkeling. There's really a lot to see under water. Also SUP and kayaks are provided. The pool presents a great lightshow in the evening. And there's a very interesting range of cocktails at the late night bar. This year they expanded with private villas and an 'on beach' barbecue restaurant. I've been told it's really good. Motorbikes can be rented on site (but do book ahead if you want to be sure).

CanadaThe beach is too rocky for me to navigate. While we were waiting for check in, I slipped on a rock and sliced my foot open. But, that was my fault for not being careful. The pool was green and murky the first day but was quickly adjusted before we came back from our day exploring. There isn’t much not to like; the whole property is exceptional!!
The staff is really awesome. The young man working at the bar was phenomenal. Not only did we get some delicious drinks, it was entertaining. Reception staff was incredibly helpful. They set up our ferry and car to Pattaya while we were exploring Koh kood. Very attentive staff. We had an ocean front pool villa and, by far, it was the most amazing view! The bed is very comfortable. The seating area is inviting. Best minibar, nicely restocked every day. Bathroom was gorgeous. Geckos were cool to watch and listen to. Klong Hin is a 5 minute walk, wicked beach to check out!

United KingdomIf the staff could have spoken a little better English, it would have made check in easier.
The Hideout was a beautiful peaceful romantic resort. Cut off from the main road or any shops - that's what we wanted but be sure to check this if you don't. The restaurant was good, prices varied. Free mini bar, snacks and insect spray a bonus!

NetherlandsLack of water refill stations which means using an unnecessary amount of plastic bottles. The location is in the middle of nowhere so you will need a motorbike. They only have one taxi driver number they'll give you and he charges you about 700thb roundtrip to go anywhere on the island.
The resort itself is very beautiful. The rooms were clean and the beach is beautiful that the resort sits on. The restaurants for food were priced well. The drinks were about double the price of the rest of the island.

PolandThe bungalows without private swimming pool that we stayed at are not that new as it looks on the pictures and the bed inside is uncomfortable. There’s a gap between door and floor so small lizards easily come in from time to time (just be aware as it’s a wild area). The staff tries to be nice, but they forget about simple things like providing pool/beach towels every morning, you need to ask about everything while they don’t speak English well. But what was the worst in our opinion was instagrammers with tripods, posing everywhere, all the time. I clearly understand the need of taking some pictures, I also do some, but it was hard to relax when there was a photoshoot one after another, on the beach, at the bar, at the breakfast, on the paddle board… Obviously it’s not the fault of the hotel, just be aware that it’s boho design attracts those people.
The surrounding was dreamy, like the island is totally yours. The kayaking on the bay during the sunset was magical, you can also go to another beaches. We loved the bridge with sunbeds in the shade, it was a perfect spot for laying down, reading and watching crab 🦀 The restaurant was okay, however you can feel it’s not the typical Thai taste, but rather made for western people ;)

ThailandThe hotel beach slightly is small, but Koh Kood is full of incredible beaches, so not a major issue. The hotel lacks a fitness room to be perfect :P
The hotel breakfast was delightful and served with stunning views of the sea. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, making our stay a truly enjoyable experience on this captivating island. We rented motorbikes (for 300B) each day to explore the island's hidden gems, creating unforgettable memories during our escape to this secluded paradise.

Free SUP and kayaks to use. Decent breakfast although not many western choices. The restaurant casters for Asian guests mainly.
