Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe location is simply magical and totally unique in the village. For this reason it is a must go to (no other tourists can sleepin the village). I was expecting something much more sparce and instead found air conditioning which was very welcomed in 38 degress. We totally adored our fishing trip organised by the hosts and visit of the surrounding sights and mangroves. As we arrived back from the fishing trip late, the host organised us a delicious pad thai from nearby.

PolandOne cannot swim in the see there, as water is very dirty. 1 night is a sufficient time to experience the island.
It was the only hotel on Panyi Island. If you know where you go, you will accept basic accommodation there. We appreciated it very much, as well as all help from hotel staff with boat transportation and trip to nearby attractions. Rooms were very basic, beds not very comfortable, but we had air condition and could take shower. The terrace and views unforgettable. The island itself is a unique experience, but no longer quiet and untouched. I mean people live there their lives, but they also learned how to earn on tourists. But being there after all tourists' shops were closed gave us better experience. There are few places where you can eat there. But the island itself is not a cheap place.

ThailandIt was ok for the price and for the nice views - just for one night. Would not recommend to stay longer, the island itself has not really much to offer.
This place is very basic but it has everything you need to stay for one night and it is in great proximity to the islands and scenic spots that can easily be reached by boat. Lovely views from the nice patio which is equipped with tables and chairs and even some lounge chairs. Room is very basic but clean. We had a good dinner at the boat restaurant recommended by the staff where we could also enjoy the sunset!

PolandWhat a wonderful place! One needs to go and stay there for a night and use host’s boat for a trip around. Super nice pick up from the pier with a large longtail boat where all your baggage fits. Amazing view from the room (balcony), especially for the sunset. For the circumstances there’s is clean and nice, aircon working well. Very nice and helpful hosts, you can order dinner with them, breakfast was also enough. Definitely recommend :)) an extraordinary experience

ItalyNothing really
The location is unbeatable, Koh Tanyee is a place out of this world (like in the movie Waterworld). In Koh Tanyee the bungalows are in the best position, almost at the point of the village. The big rooms are big and worth the extra 10$ with respect to the smaller ones. Breakfast is fair. The village itself, free of daily tourist from 16:00 onward is just incredible, it must be seen. The owner also offers different excursions, we chose the 3500 Bath for a private boat up to 5 people which includes a/r from (Tha Dan pier) to the bungalows and, in the morning, JamesBond Island, caves, canoes and a different itinerary to go back to Tha Dan pier. Just a/r is 1800 Bath

Hong KongThe check out time was sprung on us to be 9am on the day we left (something to do with the tide meaning if we missed that boat we couldn't leave until the evening). It wasn't a problem but the booking says check out 12pm, which caught us off guard a bit.
The hotel room was basic but functional. Everything worked and it was very clean. The location is stunning and I would highly recommend staying for 1 night. Unless you do some boat tours there isn't a whole lot to do, but that's fine and we were aware of that before we booked.

EstoniaThe bathroom/wc were together (this is ok)but there was a very limited area for washing.
Breakfast included bread, jam, fresh pineapple, coffee and tea, as well as a fried egg. I would have liked tomato/cucumber as well, but considering the location by the sea, everything was fine.1 night on this island is nice; was also on the island a local billiard place, a modern cafe Corner with a good coffee machine. The hotel had very pleasant and kind staff.

NetherlandsThe island and services can be perceived as “rough” by some tourists
Simple, essential accommodation on the waterfront of one of the most incredible places on earth - a fisherman island built directly on water and only accessible via water. The owner arranged a great fried rice for our dinner. We reached the island via an organized tour from Krabi (the classic “James bond island” one, for 1600thb per person), reaching the island around 1pm, and left the day after via private long tail taxi boat via Harbor Phang-nga Bay (800thb total)

NetherlandsThe room was spacious, but the beds were quite hard. The bathroom was tiny, with a shower placed just above the toilet seat, so everything was wet after the shower. The breakfast consisted of a toast and a fried egg with some instant coffee, which is a pity, as there were a lot of street vendors delivering local food in the morning. A small investment in pancakes and fruit would make the breakfast and the overall guest experience much much better. It wasn't easy to get to Koh Panyee. We were advised by the owner to go to the Tha Dan pier and take a shared boat to Koh Panyee (the pier is opposite to the Center for Study and Research in Arts and Traditions of the Andaman - just type it in Google Maps). There were no shared boats, but we managed to arrange a private one for 400 baht after some negotiations with local fixers who started from 1 000 baht. Alternatively, you can rent a private boat for a 2-3 hour ride in the bay with drop-off at Koh Panyee for about 2 000 - 2 500 after negotiations. To get back to Tha Dan (and our rental car), we went to a public pier on Koh Panyee (that's the last pier on the eastern part of the island, if you depart from the guest house). There were no shared boats at 8:30-9:00, so we took a private boat to the Tha Dan pier for the same amount of 400 for the boat (after negotiations).
We were hesitant to stay on Koh Panyee - we visited the island 6 years ago and it had hundreds of tourists at lunch time. But there were no tourists after 16:00 and before 9:00, we were the only strangers who stayed overnight. Villagers didn't pay any attention to us and didn't hide their daily activities, which was fantastic. The guest house is located as far from the tourist part of the village as possible, and has a large veranda overlooking the Phang Nga bay.

NetherlandsHe cancelled my booking. Luckely, the room was still available. Not very helpful in how to get there. Very expensive answer when there are local boats. I didn't trust his answers about not a restaurant being open in the evening and only recommending a private boat back instead of the local boats from the pier. View is amazing but seats not comfy. Shower is in the middle of the bathroom. Everything is wet.
The view in the morning and evening sitting on the terrace. Unfortuntely not very comfy chairs. Nice airco and fan. Fan is only so close to the bed that even on the lowest it feels like a hurricane.

New ZealandOne night is the perfect amount of time for this visit. Pick up and boat trip around the sights was relaxing and enjoyable with Moi who was very accommodating. We had our long boat to ourselves and were grateful not to be on the packed tourist ones! We had a beautiful buffet lunch in the restaurant. Slept well. Had a simple yet efficient breakfast. Then a tour back to the pier.
