We stayed in April, one of the hottest month. We had a normal private room (no dorm), it's not very spacious and has one fan. However, it was still very very hot in the room and we felt like the room couldn't ventilate with fresh air. We didn't even use the blankets. So keep in mind if you're traveling during dry and warm periods.

There's a 7-Eleven next door, very easy and nice. The accommodation has a restaurant with cheap options and you can also book tours or trips with them. The location of the Guesthouse is in the Old Town, with many shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood. If you like to party, this is also a good place to stay. Only couple minutes walking to the clubs and bars. Common bathrooms are clean.

The single room I've stayed in was a bit dark, but I was there only to sleep in so it didn't brother me that much

Mama Jay is just the best :) the facility is in a very good location, and it's cheap. I used only cold shower, and it was very nice (not so cold) and refreshing after (and before) a hot day. The fan was working perfectly.

The bathroom was hot and broken and there were no curtains on the bed for a little privacy. Also the wifi was really bad and there were no charging points for your phone.

The staff was really really friendly and the price was really low, which explains the downside of the hostel. Nonetheless I had a great night and would stay here again for a short period of time.

a little bit warm during the day, there were only 2 or 3 small fans for a very large room.

Very nice place, I liked the colorful walls and the choice of bedsheets. The beds are also big and comfortable. The room comes with a little balcony too. There are multiple bathrooms and they are kept clean. I really enjoyed my stay there, the place put me in a great mood:)

It is in such a good location - only a 10 mins or so walk away from busy areas of Chiang Mai. The staff were all so lovely and worked to keep the bathrooms/ corridors etc clean all the time. Fan in the room worked well and kept us cool when sleeping. Good amount of shared bathrooms on the second floor too.

We stayed in a private double room which was quite small, the bed mainly filled the room. The main issue we had was the lack of a social area. After 6pm, the reception area is closed and Mama said not to sit down there after that time so if you want to socialise you have to go elsewhere. No food options available either but you are close to lots of restaurants.

The location is very central which is very handy - 7/11 is right next door for all of your late night snack needs. Lots of tour options available to book through the owner mama. A free bottle of water is availabe each day.

Only thing is that our room was right beside a window, and it was extremely humid in our room compared to the other ones down the hallway.

We had an amazing stay at Jays guesthouse. Mama is so nice and hospitable, always made sure to check in with us for any questions we had or for booking day trips. Would recommend!

Atmosphere: I didn't feel very welcome/comfortable. Bathroom: There was no soap and no toilet paper in the bathroom.

For the price this hostel is a good option. There are curtains around the beds and two fans in the bedroom (no AC, but for me personally that was fine). Location is very good and central. All in all, it is fine if you just need a place to stay overnight, just dont expect too much.

The night was a little bit warm because no fresh air from outside. Windows on the corridor. No towel . Can not wash yourself your clothes if you wish to do it ! You must use the washing machine from outside.

A very joyful and friendly welcome during Songkran festival! Ma ma is a wonderful host and immediately met other backpackers. We were in a private room which was a good size, clean and quiet during the night. The place has a great vibe which Mama clearly puts her heart into. Full of laughter and the upmost care.
