How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

All was good.
A great place to stay. The room was clean and had a patio door leading to a rooftop balcony. A/c was great and bed was clean and comfy. It is located in amongst the little lanes of Phi Phi and while you can hear some of the night time activity, it is more distant than most places would be as JJ Residence is towards the end of a quieter lane. We slept well. The pool was brilliantly clean and well maintained.

Unfortunately, it was extremely unpleasant the sewer smell coming from the bathroom! We have bought a air freshener that I would provide to each room. Our room was extremely dark even with curtains open and full light on! We had to use our phone torches to check in the luggage’s. The safe was not working! WiFi as well not working. It was allowing us to connect but was not loading anything. Hopefully we both had about package! The bedroom was smelling mould!
Very central and able to reach everywhere in the island. We had a room with air condition that had direct access to the swimming pool! We did enjoy it!

The property grounds could be better maintained. Pictures a little misleading in that sunbeds area is no longer maintained

There is no breakfast provided and they do not accept card payment. This is where my confusion happened as the payment never went through and I was asked to pay at the hotel. Hotel should clearly mention this on the app.
The rooms are just fantastic and spacious like a 3 star hotel. They have a clean swimming pool which is spacious. The balcony faces the swimming pool. Though it is right in the busy area. It quietly tucked away to provide peace and privacy. All the restaurants are nearby, so even if they don't provide breakfast, you have many options outside.

This island has problems with sewage systems and its drains which is understandable with how busy it is all year round it can’t keep up and you can smell it quite often all around Koh phi phi so I wasn’t surprised when we smelt it in our bathroom however it got to a point it was unbearable at times in our bathroom but it cannot be helped
This property is great location lovely staff spacious rooms new towels and water every day lovely pool was very nice location and serves its purpose well we really enjoyed our stay

The lighting could be better. There was a cockroach in the bathroom.
I liked the pool and convenient access to it. I liked the location, close to the beach and in the centre for shopping and food.

Overall, I had a great experience with the JJ Residence. Staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, clean, and very spacious. Swimming pool very nice. Highly reccomended if you visit Phi Phi island

No sun loungers but space is limited so maybe just some small chairs or a bench around the pool. Not a major issue though.
Great location in the heart of town but still quiet at night. Very clean room.

No chairs/beds by the pool like in the pictures. Room is very dark, can’t see that well at night which was annoying when I tried to pack.

Check-out time is a bit early (11 am), but you can leave your luggage on the hall after that.

The room was so dark. There wax literally zero light if there wasn’t the sunlight. The lady at the reception wasn’t rude, but not nice either. I can’t say the room was dirty, but it also wasn’t clean. And there were cockroaches in the room. For the price I can imagine a better deal than this.
The location was perfect and the room is spacious and comfy. Also we had a entry to the pool right from our patio which was nice.

Room was quite dark

The rooms didn’t have much lighting and the pool chairs in the pictures aren’t there.
Our room was ground level which was awesome as our balcony gate opened into the pool so we could jump right in and then swim back and sit on the balcony. Great location, in quiet area but 1 minute walk and you are right in the centre with lots of food/ shops around.
