Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EcuadorJust a small thing but it would be nice to provide a little dish soap and sponge to clean dishes in the kitchen.
The room was very comfortable with a nice balcony. The hotel has water available in several locations, and tea, coffee and snacks in the library which is a nice touch. I also liked the two swimming pools and access to the beach at the other hotel they are associated with.

Isle of ManSlight issue when I paid a bar bill using my mobile, which occasionally happens in Thailand apparently, so I would recommend using your cards to avoid issues.

all the staff were very friendly and helpful, room was large and cleaned daily also towels and sheets were changed daily; Breakfast was delicious with a great choice. The rooftop pool was great with amazing views and never crowded. Gardens are well looked after and the shuttle to Kantary Bay hotel was every 15 mins. We stayed for 3 weeks and wish we had booked longer, a credit to every member of staff.

New ZealandThere is nothing I didn’t like about the property. This is a fabulous hotel away from the noise. Clean and posh.
The resort was beautiful, well maintained, clean, exotic and serene. It’s a perfect get away for a family of any age especially senior citizens. The staff Kik and Susan were so beautiful and caring. My mom fell ill and the staff was supportive of getting us a doctor.

A genuine and tranquil location in a historical property which is taken care of with love. Very cosy, nice local restaurants in the area, a small street market every evening right outside the property and all other service you might need. Perfect property for active couples. A big thank you to the whole team.

CanadaThat my stay was so short!
The location was amazing! Our Seaview one bedroom suite was perfect and although it was hot we did manage to spend some time on our private balcony overlooking the ocean at sunset. The seawalk in front of the hotel had a variety of restaurants to choose from and there was a nightly market with stalls of food and shopping erected at dusk. Everything we needed was nearby and it seemed to be less touristy of an area which we enjoyed. The addition of the sister resort and the use of their amenities puts this hotel's ratings off the chart! The free shuttle to the sister Hotel and the cute tram ride down to the beach was worth every minute! Beach lounge chairs were scattered throughout the trees some in the shade some in the sun and the beach bar was great! If we'd had more time we would have eaten more dinners at this area. Staying here meant not having to go anywhere else for a wonderful relaxing holiday!

United KingdomI didn't like leaving! I cried, I cannot wait to get back at the end of the year.
Kantary Bay Hotel We spent 13 nights at the Glorious Kantary Bay Hotel, Phuket in December 2023. We are now planning our next holiday and will once more be staying at the Kantary Bay Hotel. I have stayed in many, many hotels, but none have made me feel the way this hotel has. This hotel is filled with love. It is obvious the staff enjoy their work, and it shows in little touches, attention to detail, the plants, the gardens, it all just feels so loved and cared for in a way other hotels fail. Our room was on the 3rd floor, I had requested a quiet room on a high floor, and I appreciated that the hotel acted on my request. There is a lift, but we only used it a couple of times. The room was great, really great! There is a bed area, the bed very comfy, a living area with a comfy sofa, armchair and TV. The free Wi-Fi was faultless. A kitchen area, with a sink, a hob, a fridge, and a microwave, plus all the pots and pans you could wish for and a small dining table and chairs. I absolutely loved it. We were there on a Bed and breakfast board; the breakfast didn’t disappoint. Absolutely everything you could wish for with good coffee and a rather wonderful egg man that could do anything that it is possible to do with eggs. The public areas I can only describe as Art Deco meets colonialism meets Thai, deliciously put together. Again, it is the little touches of love that set this hotel apart from the rest. There are 2 pools, one just off reception and another rooftop pool. For anyone who finds amazing sunsets irresistible, this is your go place, utterly spectacular. The gardens are not massive, but I enjoyed spending time there. Ther are huge butterflies, amazing insects, I saw hummingbirds, ferns palms, and so many orchids. All put together in an amazing hotch potch of planters, these gardens are truly loved. I spent ages just snooping around, seeing what was new, what was in bud, wondering at the sheer perfection of tropical flowers. Lastly, I must mention the staff, who

PolandThis is one of the best hotels in Phuket - the price-to-quality ratio is probably one of the best around. You get access to two swimming pools, a great area around the hotel, and even a night market next to it. The staff is always smiling and ready to help. Good WiFi, great rooms, and lots of additional small touches make this place a hidden gem. There is also a shop in the hotel and a small cafe/bakery. Breakfasts are large, with a massive selection of foods. With this hotel, you also get access to the nearby Cape Hotel - and there you'll find an amazing private beach, access to a swimming pool, sun loungers, and beautiful gardens. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped. You could say it's "European" standard - nothing is missing. It's one of the best hotels we've been to; we really felt like family. It's always nice when in a larger hotel, the staff remembers you and is happy to talk and help out when needed. It's a true gem in Phuket. The hotel is very well located - it's on the quiet side of the island, yet walkable distance to dozens of restaurants around. It's a quick taxi ride from all the top spots. We left something precious in our hotel room, and the staff quickly found it and sent it to us with a courier - we are extremely grateful for this.

We were here for the fourth time. This time we were given a free upgrade to an apartment with separate bedroom and full kitchen, very spacious. The hotel is located on a beautiful bay with many good and inexpensive restaurants within walking distance. There’s a colorful street market every evening and also a free shuttle to the beach of the 5 star sister hotel The Cape Panwa Hotel which runs frequently.

United KingdomThe sister hotel is where the beach is. It’s a huge hotel on the other side of the hill, transport takes you there. But, when you are there, the prices for any food or drink are extortionate. Really, they could halve the price of a beer, soft drink, any food offering and still be more than double the price elsewhere. I realise it’s a hotel price, but they really don’t need to fleece clients to that extent. Truly shocking. I’ve spent time in Switzerland and paid less for the same things. And that, when compared to the excellent value that Kantary bay offers, just felt wrong and a bit dirty as they know the location is isolated, so any choices are minimal. It’s a nice beach there. But not so nice that I’d ever go back to be fleeced again.
Probably the friendliest hotel we’ve ever stayed at. We arrived at 8.30 am expecting to have to wait until the afternoon to check in to the room, they had us in room and comfortable by 9am, breakfast at 9.30, just perfect. At reception the staff were on first name terms with lots of guests, and everyone had a smile on their face. Guests and staff. The room was great, little kitchen complete with a washing machine, fridge, hob etc. Nice pool, nice breakfast/ dining area. Beer and soft drinks available at really good prices. Probably even cheaper than the shop next door. Stunning sunsets from the balconies. We only stayed three nights, but plenty of other guests were staying for a month or more. It’s very quiet in the area, so once you’ve exhausted the local restaurants, maybe need a taxi to go further afield, but Thai taxis are well priced.
