How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

the water of the shower was sometimes hot or cold. Also the power of the shower could be better. need a motorbike because of the location.

the lighting in the room was that very bright fluorescent lighting which wasn’t my favourite.
Very clean which is important and lovely swimming pool. nice patio to relax on in the evenings too. very nice people working here. easy to rent scooter from property and get laundry washed. honestly great value for money we were very happy with everything.

Best place to stay in Koh Lanta! ♥️ Amazing value for money and the staff are just lovely! We were only going to stay one night and ended up staying 4. It’s a short 3 minute walk to the beach and close to all the best bars and restaurant on the island. I recommend going next door to the little restaurant (I think called Phong Neat) for amazing, very reasonably priced food, cooked and run by a lovely family! I will be back Khum Laanta! Thank you for making our experience in Koh Lanta one to remember ☺️

bath tap didn’t actually go into the bath and plug was broken. bath was unusable and looked like it had never been usable. no desk with power outlet. small fridge. AC was a small for such a big room but did the job.
very clean. big rooms. with kitchen and shower with good water pressure but not much hot water. location is very central on the island. so a short bike to get anyway. minimart right next door for water and snacks. 2 minute walk to beach with bars etc but not great for swimming. Moped for rent directly at reception. trip booking also available.

First room, was too big, hot and full of mosquitoes
Our 2nd room was lovely and right next to the pool. Pool was nice, warm but not refreshing in the heat. Nice staff

The beach was of soft coral filled sand. Too rocky to enter the water and swim. Much better beaches in other parts of the island.
Bungalows shaded, chairs outside to sit, close to the beach. Food choices close by, pool decent size.

The layout of the family bungalow made no sense with a huge empty space in the living area and the bedroom size small with a double and single bed squeezed in. There was only air con was in the bedroom so that was cold but the rest of the living space was hot. Curtains didn't cover the windows properly in the living area, no hanging rail or hook even in the bathroom to hang anything off including the towels. Charging sockets were all half way up the wall making then redundant when trying to charge mobile devices. Really strange planning for a family bungalow layout.
The outside porch of the bungalow was nice with a very friendly resident cat. The pool was good to cool off in and the lady on reception was friendly and welcoming.

Nothing bad about the hotel. One thing to bare in mind is that many bookings through booking.com will add a card fee when you pay at the hotels (compared to other sites). So add 3-5%.
The staff was super friendly, nice pool and big rooms (had a room by the pool). Many places to eat at the main road. We took a tuk tuk from Klong Dao (4pers with luggage) for 300thb. Not directly at the beach, short walk 200m.
