Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaGarbage. We arrived at low tide, so the boat could not drop us off at the hotel's main staircase, but had to do it down the beach. So, the very first thing we saw were mountains of garbage some 50 meters from this luxury hotel's entrance. I have no idea why they don't make an effort to clean this stretch up too, as the rest of the hotel grounds is pretty clean. It really diminsihes the experience and makes you question your right to enjoy this beautiful island. A peculiar aspect of this hotel is a long-long staircase to reach the upper rooms and the pool with the view. Not recommended to anyone with disabilities. The hotel does not have elevators, but in the worst case it can call up a small golf cart to transport you and your bags up the steep hill.
We were looking for something away from the crowds and that's what we got. The Cliff Beach Resort is the last one on the island's main beach. At high tide it is cut off from other resorts, so few people happen to go there. And there were also few people staying. It was quite a special feeling to have this whole big hotel complex almost completely to ourselves. The main attraction of this hotel is the view. It's the best I've ever seen. This view alone (especially from the hotel's hilltop pool) was worth the price of admission. It's just unreal - the distant cliffs on the horizon - gorgeous at sunset and gorgeous at sunrise. The hotel was a little run down, but clean and the grounds were pretty well maintained, it had nice traditional design elements inserted here and there. As we understood, it will get some refreshment and renovation before the next season. The hotel has a breakfast buffet and the lunch is served at the pool - food there was very good. The staff was friendly, but looked a bit bored due to the lack of visitors.

United KingdomNot necessarily a dislike but the resort was very quiet. All of the resort could do with an update, however I am sure the price would be a lot higher if it was refurbished Breakfast was not very nice
The view! (Obviously you would need to climb steps to experience this so don't understand the negative reviews about this) Great pool Staff were really friendly and helpful Good air con in the room

GermanyVery friendly and helpful staff, very clean, spectacular view over the ocean. The most comfortable beds I had on my whole Thailand trip! Big room. The cleaning team is extremely thorough. Also fresh towel and a free bottle of water every day. It's right that the hotel is a bit aged, but I liked it though. Breakfast was not fancy, but good and diverse. I liked it that they were friendly and helped you quickly with whatever you needed. They carry the luggage for you from the taxi boat up into your room (and also the other way round). You can borrow snorkel equipment for free, kajak: every room has 1 hour each day for free. They help you to book transfer to your next island. You can also book a private longtail boat to make tours (max. 5 people per boat). I texted them already before my stay because I had questions about how to get there and they provided me with information. I saw that they have a little golfcart and they drove a man, who was not so mobile, up to his room.

United KingdomWiFi was extremely slow, but that might be the same everywhere on Koh Ngai. You're at the end of the beach so when it's high tide you can't go anywhere, not that there's many places to go
Amazing views from the rooms and the pool area. Staff were extremely helpful and the food was good and reasonably priced, for the Andaman islands. Free snorkeling gear and kayaks too We got a deal for $50 a night and it was excellent value at that price

PolandWell, the location of the only sockets in the room is plain absurd. There are several notices in the room (concerning the safe and the water heater) which no longer apply and are just confusing. And I've already mentioned the pool restaurant opening hours. All in all, a wonderful place, but a hit and miss in some regards.
The pool is the winner by a long shot! It is seldom crowded, there are times you have it to yourself. And you don't need to fight for the loungers. The restaurant at the pool is fine - good quality food and not really much more expensive than the beach places. What I don't understand is why it opens only 12pm to 4pm, this really doesn't seem logical. The room is fine, the window/balcony view is gorgeous. The double bed is two mattresses really and a little too soft for my liking.

SpainI will start by saying that I would stay here again. The pool and it’s views are amazing, it was very quiet, the restaurant had fantastic views and was good value for money, and it is a great spot to snorkel offshore (swim to the end of the long-tail-boat-canal to find the corals). Things you need to know: - It is literally the last hotel/resort of the beach. It is quiet. - It is hard to get there by foot on high tide (don’t even think of walking there with suitcases or backpacks) - It is DATED (but clean). Really, you cannot imagine it. The rooms need a fresh up. New wardrobes, new bedside tables, new A/C (it went ‘on’ but was not functional as it was too weak), new painting… - The beach in front has many rocks (just walk 100m to the right :) ) - It has many stairs (it is build on a cliff/hill) If you can live with the above you will be rewarded with quietness, perfect views, polite and helpful personal, and a sense of relaxation. Just be sure you catch a good offer on booking.com and pay a price that overweights the cons :)

United KingdomOnly very minor details, more suggestions to improve than complaints. It would be nice to have hand towels rather than just the main towels. The breakfast had plenty, but we would've loved some cheese to go with the omelette/bread.
The views from the room and the pool area must be the best on the Island. We would stay here again just for that! It is at one end of the main beach, but you can walk to plenty of nice bars and restaurants and the food at the hotel was very good. Some of the best we've had in Thailand! The staff were nice and friendly. The room was big and clean, with a balcony overlooking looking the sea. We spelt very well here. You can get freshly cooked eggs / omelette for breakfast which was nice. The lady serving was very friendly.

SpainBreakfast could be better. The lack of a clear and enlightened path connecting the island from point to point makes the resort difficult to reach during high tide especially at night when taxi boats are not available.

United KingdomAlthough not a problem for us, there were lots of steps to get to the pool. The rooms could do with a bit of a refresh although were still furnished adequately. We were also the only guests staying there so it was very quiet but this is presumably because they have just reopened. Overall a very relaxing stay; a little pricey but so is the whole island.
The staff were so friendly, the best we have experienced. The receptionist was particularly lovely and gave us great recommendations. The cleaning staff also paid lots of attention to detail and cleaned the room well everyday. We arrived by longboat and two guys helped us with our luggage. The view from the pool is probably one of the best on the island. The pool itself is very refreshing. Our room had a nice balcony to relax on. The room had both aircon and a fan to keep cool. We enjoyed the free breakfast, it wasn't a buffet because there weren't enough guests but we could basically order what we wanted including a fresh fruit platter and scotch pancakes. Also the snorkelling next to the hotel was great and they have snorkels to use for free. Note: The hotel has only just reopened since after COVID. When we booked, the hotel had a rating of 8.7 with many reviews but now booking.com is only showing the two reviews since they reopened.

PolandNothing, this is perfect resort!
It is a top-class resort at the level of a European 4-5 star hotel. Great location, elegant, comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Beautiful view of the sea and neighboring islands. The hotel has three restaurants and offers efficient room service. All rooms have terraces and a view of the sea. Equipped with kettles, coffee and tea. In addition to air conditioning, the rooms also have ceiling fans. Daily cleaning of rooms and replacement of bed linen and towels. The great advantage of this resort is a spacious swimming pool, epically located on a cliff, with a view you will remember for a lifetime. There is a bar and bistro by the pool. The service is exceptionally professional and English-speaking. This hotel reminded me of the best hotel I have ever been to, i.e. Adlon Kempinski in Berlin.
