How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Was on the expensive side for a property without a pool & social area. Room was basic & it was loud when the cleaners started in the morning.
The room was spacious and clean. The property has a short walk to the beach & restaurants but still in a quiet area.

The shower was not really separate so everything just drains on the bathroom floor when you shower.
The staff was very nice, helped us carry our luggage and was very welcoming. There is a scooter rental place and laundry around the corner. And a Shaka Cafe close by!

The bathroom could have been bigger, shower a bit more divided from the rest of the bathroom.
Great location, close to the beach and bars/restaurants. Clean. Comfortable beds.

the property is in a good location, only a 5 minute walk to the beach and is situated near some nice restaurants, i reccomend mama tams!

Recepcion works only until 8 pm. No security guard, anyone can enter to the hotel. Some guests were loud during the night. Cleaning every 2 days and on request.

Depending on the floor your room is, you might have a lot of stairs to climb. There's no air circulation in the bathroom/toilet which makes it very humid + the drain smell can be unpleasant
Basic room but fair for the price Location is great if you want to be in the beating heart of koh tao (which is very busy and quite overwhelming). Staff is very nice and really try to be helpful but communication can be a bit complicated (due to language barrier)

Really good location close enough to walk to everything, far enough back that you don't have crowds and noise. Room was really comfortable, decent size, very clean, no complaints.

The internet did not work very well at all, especially after 7pm, also, the toilet would not flush sometimes as the water level would not fill back up
The hotel and rooms where very clean, the rooms where big and spacious with a TV and fridge, plus the aircon worked great. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location was perfect, plenty of nightlife and restaurants nearby but far enough away from any noise.

I loved the location. Near everything but still on the quite sidestreet! Couple minutes walk to the lovely and i think best beach on the island! Really nothing to complain. Its basic but worth the money!

The hotel was well situated close to everything but no noise at night. Staff friendly and helped arrange trips and transportation. We came specifically to dive, so we did not spend long in the room, but it was perfect for us

The mattress was a little too soft for our taste. The access to the hotel is a dirt road that gets a bit dark at night. The bathroom gets all wet when showering as there's no curtain, but if you're careful it's not much of a hassle.
Close to everything but away from the noise. The beach is closeby and within a 5 min walk you're close to all the restaurants and bars. The staff was very friendly and the wi-fi worked properly.

Our toilet didn’t flush without having to fill the water up ourselves which was a bit annoying. I think their online rates are slightly overpriced for a guest house.
Room was very clean and spacious, comfortable bed too! Location was perfect for us. Definitely recommend
