At night it is a little bit noisy cuz the bar that is in front of the hostel. You have to pay a 500THB or leave your passport as a " deposit ". Once you return the towel and the key you will get your deposit back. 1 or 2 guys from the staff were rude..........but maybe it is part of been thai.

It was clean, the beds were comfortable, the aircon was perfect the bar and the facilities were good, and the pool was nice and clean. It has a really good location, they have plenty of activities, You can meet good people from everywhere, . If you travel solo this is the place to stay....

The dorm was only cleaned when a new guest checked in. The bedding and towels smelt a little musty. No hand wash in the dorm bathroom.

Really enjoyed my stay at Mad Monkey. The female dorm was clean, staff are friendly and the facilities are great. The hostel is a short walk away from Patong beach and there’s many shops/restaurants in the area.

It is really pricey tbh, can get hotels for much cheaper. It also could’ve been a bit cleaner considering the high price. Also, some rooms had soap in the bathrooms, some didn’t?

Comfiest bed I’ve slept on in Thailand! The facilities are great, it is pretty clean and it is quite social. I met great people in my rooms.

They didn’t clean in 4 days (not even empty the bin) It was very dirty, smelled like pee, the shampoo and conditioner as well as the toilet were broken, no refill. Aircon was so cold that the wall and the floor got completely wet, even if we put it on 25/26 degrees. Also the people were really disrespectful. They had s*x while I was in the room and left there condoms on the floor. Wow. You have to know that it’s party people there and they exactly behave like this. Suits to Phuket at all. Music is load whole day until midnight.

Nice common areas (pool, bar, lobby, gym and roofterrace. Room has enough space. Bed was comfy. If you are looking for a hostel to party this is the right place to stay. Have several community events

I normally avoid staying at hostels as I am a solo traveller and very particular about cleanliness, however in my past solo travels realised there is no social connect. This time also I had booked a hotel then cancelled and decided to stay at Mad monkey hostel and don't regret it a bit. The rooms are just used for sleeping, washroom are clean and good air conditioning. What makes MAD Monkey different from the rest is the lively atmosphere and the hosts who are always welcoming and interacting with a smile. Special shout out to Lotty & Tom for making my stay comfortable at Phuket.

Top bunk bed right in front of AC vent. I could only survive putting my head in the blanket. Also, blankets/motifs were too thick. No option to control water temperature.

Nothing about the hostel I would 100% stay here again if I was staying in Patong. One note is I arrived late and was slightly worried as I had messages a few times about late check in via booking.com as it stated on here check in was until 11.00pm and I never had a response BUT I reached out to the mad monkey website and they assured me that they have staff on 24/7 and that they would inform the staff of my late arrival so it was no issue at all.

I'm never disappointed when staying in a mad monkey I find them to be modern with everything you could need as a backpacker, the rooms and lockers were big, the air con was great they let guest control it themselves (some hostels tend to put it on at a certain time and leave it which I don't like) the pool area is nice a bit on the smaller side and shaded in the afternoon by the building, not a negative just something to note if you are working on your tan but that being said there is a roof top where you can also hangout ! The staff did a great job as usual it getting guest involved and having a good time. I love mad monkey hostels as a solo traveller when ever I am staying in an area that has one I will always choose to stay there.

We booked 4 beds in one room but they had to split us up as there was no space. so that was not ideal but other than that everything else was great.

Probably the most comfortable bunk bed i’ve had in a hostel and really nice place with pool and bar it that is what I would expect for the price.

The blanket in the private room that I stayed was stained with shoe stains and the sheets had sand in them. I was pretty sure they were not new.

Amazing facilities, including a pool and bar. Best part was the social activities like pub crawl and pub quiz night. Shout out to Justin and the crew for running wonderful events and keeping the energy high! Even if you aren’t into partying, the noise stops at midnight so it’s very easy to get a good night’s rest too- it’s the best of both worlds.

The mattresses were very hard and it was not that clean, I know it’s part of Thailand (& Asia) but we had twice a cockroach in our room… second time it was in our bed… besides that it was pretty good.

Very good location & super super friendly staff!!! Wifi works perfectly and the rooms are a good size.
