Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandRestaurant is a bit noisy in the evenings, as is the road. Little bit impersonal - no reception as such, check in was with the restaurant staff.
I really enjoyed my stay at Maderla. The room was very comfortable, spacious, and nicely decorated. I liked that they are named after Thai towns. Air conditioning worked a treat. Water outside the door everyday, and a nice restaurant downstairs for tasty meals.

SwedenWhile clean, the walls have some superificial cracks and the tv-island/spinny thing had to be locked in place by using a chair or something to keep it from turning back. Some nights it was pretty loud from the bar downstairs.
Stayed in the Korat suite and it was absolutely magical. Almost like a penthouse apartment for very little money. I especially loved the decor, huge windows, dimmers and the rain shower in the bathroom. I got two free water bottles every day as well which was hugely appreciated. Lastly it was close to the subway and to Lumphini Park which I adore.

United KingdomAccomodation was basic and decor was funky with a wierd green ceiling light.. Shower fixing fell off first then the towel rack but overall I would say great value.
Staff friendly and helpful. Great location. Variety of restaurants nearby but the food at Maderla was excellent. Coin operated washing machines opposite .10 minute walk to Lumphini station. Lumphini park nearby .

United KingdomStaff not very friendly, upon check out you don’t speak with anyone you just put keys into a bucket. I wanted to say thank you for a nice stay and that we are checking out, but was almost shooed off by the restaurant staff. A lot of stairs up to the room due to it being the 3rd floor.
Lovely modern room, situated above a restaurant, we were the third floor so noise wasn’t a problem. I recommend the deluxe king room for the extra money it really was worth it.

FranceThe restaurant charges you way too much for coffee and orange juice (that’s all we had) compared to other places in town.
Very clean and great location, super quiet but at the same time lively. Location is good, away from the big tourists areas and still there are good places to eat and for commodities. Price is good ! They also give you bottles of water at your front door every morning, super nice gesture :)

PhilippinesThere is no elevator. Our room is on the 4th floor so its kinda hard to climb 4 flights of stairs specially after a long day outside.
The staff are very accommodating and helpful. There are also plenty or food places around so you'll never go hungry. It's also a walking distance to the subway and bus station

United KingdomIt smelt like damp, like it was old and musty. Staff also weren't around at check-out time so I was unable to get my (physical cash) deposit back and they had to bank transfer a few days later instead.
The room was quite nice and had everything we needed.

United KingdomWe stayed on a Friday night & it was pretty noisy until early hours of the morning outside. No staff members were around when we tried to check out & leave our bags & we had to wait for them to show us where we could put our bags. When we came back to get our bags in the evening no staff members were around again & the door to the guesthouse and where our bags were stored were both unlocked, and anyone could have walked in and taken them.
Good location, close to places to eat, a 7/11 and the MRT. Comfortable bed.

VietnamThe room is just above the bar/restaurant, so the staircase leading to the room can be a bit smelly and not the cleanest - but that’s all forgotten the second you enter the room. Also, I stayed there 6 night and I would have liked the room to be cleaned once but also, I didn’t ask. I’m sure if I had asked they would have done it.
The room is clean and well equipped, it has everything you’d need. The bathroom is very spacious and the shower is just amazing. The bed is comfortable. This is really a great place to stay with plenty restaurants around and friendly staff. I highly recommend this hotel to solo travellers.
