Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThe communication between the hotel and property owner about WIFI and how it got handled the first 3 days. We could not reach our sick daughter by Internet and/or video call to see how she is doing. Had to go to the lobby to do so, because there was no Wifi in the room. Also, side work suffered because of the missing WIFI. WIFI is a must-have if offered in the room. Which got solved on day 4 of the trip. Details: The hotel was blocking the WIFI because it was not, or was delayed paid by the landlord. Then even when the landlord paid we had to arrange again by calling the hotel so that someone comes and reset the blocking of the hotel's IT team. Otherwise, we even were not able to enter WIFI with a valid Guestroom # and password. I suggest a scheduled (SOP) template in the room or at arrival so guests have an idea of the rundown of the rental. As well as a list of the items in the property that can use and do not belong to the hotel. (SOP) Also what the hotel can be asked for and what not. (SOP) General better communication between the hotel and the landlord. It can not be that the customer has to suffer from that. Eg. Landlord provides the booking details and a deposit which can be used by the hotel. Then if the landlord really overseas to arrange the payment of the WIFI or something else for the apartment. The hotel (as the landlord allows written in advance) can use the deposit to arrange the WIFI or other property facilities. Problems solved - everybody is happy. Customer, hotel and property owner.
Amazing view over Surin. Beautiful sunrises in the morning when awaking. With a lot of pools, a fitness centre and Sauna. A lot of staff can be used by the landlord like beach bags or mats. Great restaurants like Carpe diem, Tiki and Riverside. As well as a little breakfast guesthouse with amazing Thai coffee just a few 100 meters on the right when you leave the Mida Resort. Very friendly and willing to help hotel staff. Great food and coffee either at the MIDA GRAND RESORT.

AustraliaRoom should be listed as an air bnb rather than a hotel. we arrived and no one was able to assist us as the apartments are privately owned. the local contact was helpful but arrived late so we waited an hour before knowing what what happening. the room was cleaned late so we couldn’t access the apartment until 4 pm. wifi did not work for majority of stay.
great views from the apartment and roof top pool is amazing. definitely great value and I would recommend to stay here.

GermanyThe Wi-Fi was fast, but unfortunately several sites required for my work were blocked. Also we did not get a second key card until the last night. It was very annoying not being able to do things like go for a swim, or to the gym etc while my partner was sleeping, as I would have to wake them on my return to get in or lock them in there with the air con off!
The gym and the rooftop pool.

AustraliaNot cleaned to a standard expected. We have stayed at other Surin Beach accommodation several times since 2017. This was the least clean apartment. Check in was not straightforward as we first went to the wrong building and then host was late to the property. It is a huge complex with several buildings a mixture of hotel operated and privately owned. Felt like a campus. Staff onsite for privately owned property were not easy to communicate with often using phone to assist with language translations. If you hire a motor bike you can get to places easily. If not you will do a lot a walking. On the seventh and final day of our stay, the water pump for the whole complex malfunctioned and there was no water for showers or to flush toilets. No provision by accommodation for us to use other showers either on or off site prior to our flight home in the afternoon.
Views to the sea. Washing machine in unit. 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets. Pool on top of the building. Great.
