Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandNice location near the pier and on the way to the village. Garden-like, spacious surroundings. The room was nice and clean, but the promised seaview was questionable. Anyway, a lovely stay and well worth the money. Recommended!

United KingdomNothing at all!!!!! Would love to stay here again and would highly recommend it.
Very friendly and happy staff that could not do enough for us. Fresh fruit and water every day. The aircon was VERY cool, the beds comfortable, and the rooms spacious. Incredible value for money. The location is also exactly what we wanted, close the main village and pier. Also walking distance to Miss Island which does amazing coffee and food.

NetherlandsNo swimming pool and there were jellyfish in the ocean so we couldn’t swim at all. That was a little bit dissapointing in the hot season, but that’s not the hosts fault! Just be aware of it :)

EstoniaThe air conditioner in our room was old, so it got frozen at night and began making strange noises.
In the quite messy and garbage-ridden Koh Mook, this establishment is one of the most decent and clean. Solid rooms and bungalows with air conditioning, garden and premises well taken care of. Dignified and friendly owner-lady at the reception offering fresh watermelon and cold water to tired guests waiting for their room. All our needs were quickly met - we could have our laundry done and rent scooters on the spot. The location of Mook Ing Lay is also very good - close to pier and the center of the village (shops, ATM, etc). There were no howling dogs at night nor garbage burning smoke.

IsraelIt's quite expensive for what you get, but maybe those are the prices of Koh Mook. It was kind of difficult to communicate with the housekeeping and thus we had to wait until 4 in the afternoon to get our room cleaned.
The bungalows are spacious with a comfortable (fairly soft) bed, fridge and the porch looks out to the garden. The ladies that own the place were so sweet and brought us a little plate of fruits each day

IrelandNo place to refill water bottles. Bottled water was provided, but on an island like this it should be a priority to reduce plastic waste. Also, being able to separate recycling from general waste would have been good. Room lighting could be improved to make it more relaxing. It would have been nice to have some more space to relax around the property, they have plenty of space, so a relaxing seating area would have been great.
Simple solid accommodation, no big luxuries but was comfortable (good bed), in a great location, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Very close to the centre of town, lots of places to eat and drink nearby, easy access to activities.

We enjoyed 4 nights here in our clean and comfortable room. Mook Ing Lay is in a great location near the pier and a very short walk to anything else you will need. Tour offices very close for booking trips and onward travel. Be sure to walk down the pier in the evening to see turtles and if you’re lucky you’ll also see Dugongs. We saw one just off the pier at 4pm and again at night.

United StatesNo swimming pool or nearby swimming beach; however, that is reflected in the price.
Value for the money! Strong air conditioning! Location. Clean, large room on second floor with floor to ceiling windows, natural light and a huge covered balcony. Comfortable beds. Work desk with seat. The rooms are set back off the main road and were quiet and peaceful. It is a two minute walk to the restaurants and shops. Three minute tuktuk ride to the pier. Staff was friendly and efficient. We rented a scooter from the staff which I highly recommend. The swimming beach is on the opposite side of the island; we rode the scooters there.

United KingdomHot water didn’t seem to work but that could have just been me not working it out. But it’s hot didn’t bother me anyway. - a few loud dogs around the hotel through the night but that would be the same for any hotel on this island. Same with the noise from the mosque, last 5 mins then stops. Nothing to worry about.
Excellent value for money, right by the pier and restaurants. Room was clean and more than sufficient. Lovely touches by the staff- fruit, very good cleaning service.

Greeted at Reception with a glass of cold water and a plate of fruit. Room was large, airy, comfortable bed, good sized bathroom with separate hot shower. And even a mirror in the room close to a socket! Fridge and air con already switched on and water chilling inside. Lovely terrace with chairs and hanging rail. The staff brought us fresh fruit each day and if we weren't in they left it in the shade outside with a cover over. Perfect little set up close to pier and all restaurants and bars
