Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyFloor of bungalow made from wood bars with small gaps what makes it easy for small insects and warm air to come through to the bungalow.
Pure nature around! Super friendly staff. New motorbikes for a reasonable price. Small pool to refresh. Not far from beach and walking distance to restaurants and 7/11.

SingaporeWhen hot days, better to offer yourself the bungalow with air con ! The fan is not sufficient when too hot.
The staff is lovely and keen on supporting you in anything. The sunset at the beach is just 5min walking. The air con bungalow is very chic.

CanadaIt was a short walk to the beach but was disappointed there was no access to the water as it was extremely rocky and you had to walk down a ways. We didn't realize their location was in such a busy part of the island, as 1 main road it was a busy one. The bed was not comfortable and a large double in a small bungalow made it very confining.
The staff were very friendly, helpful. The breakfast ($200 baht) was great, warm homemade bread and free coffee. It was nice to have access to a pool and poolside restaurant. They had a great recommendation board with information, distance...which was very helpful. They recycle and provide water to refill out bottles with, so another bonus. Walking distance to Relax beach and the Animal Welfare rescue center.

United KingdomNo desk or Aircon in the bungalow I booked. This was made clear in the booking however I prefer rooms that have both of these! Some of the bungalows do have Aircon though.
Lovely bungalows in a beautiful environment. Nice area to sit and enjoy breakfast or work in.

Bosnia and Herzegovina-The location. It is near the beach but you can’t actually reach the water because of the huge stones so you have to walk to a real beach (I uploaded a photo) -The breakfast was plain and expensive (only pork, eggs and pineapple/watermelon for 200Baht) -Something in our room massacred my leather purse. I don’t know if it was a rat. Although we haven’t had any food (inside the purse was an empty chocolate wrap)
The roosters every morning as a wakeup alarm :) Free cold water to refill our bottles; the scooters were new and they don’t take any deposit for renting them. The bed was comfortable and the two fans in our cottage were just enough to cool down the room at night. Water pressure was good!

United KingdomInflated transport costs seems to be a bit of an issue on ko lanta, would have been nice if the host could help out to put you in contact with reasonably priced operators.
Simple, fan-only bungalows close to the beach. Staff were not overly welcoming, but overall ok.

AustraliaRooms get a bit warm during the day, shower pressure wasn’t great either but we understand this is an eco resort so that’s to be expected.
Central location and lots of restaurants nearby, tuk tuks available nearby, beach is a quick walk and of course Daisy the dog was the highlight! Very friendly cats as well, and enjoyed waking up to the chooks and roosters. Pool was very nice and refreshing and pizza was lovely!

United KingdomNothing.
The breakfast was very simple but pleasant. They never laid out lots that sat for ages, but instead they freshly topped up as needed. The 24 hr coffee and cool water is a nice touch. The staff are lovely and very helpful. There is also lots of information on the reception walls about local restaurants, beaches, bars etc with little descriptions as a guide. I arrived early and they checked me in and let me have a later checkout as my room was not needed straight away. My room was a decent size and very comfortable. I had air con and a fan. The location is great overall. It is within a minute of a small beach that is very rocky at low tide. I liked that as it was very quiet. If you walk 5 mins in either direction along a road, you hit other beaches that have better access at low tide. All three beaches have small bars/restaurants that are not blaring out music.

GermanyI booked a room with a king size bed and got a room with two single beds. They pushed them together but there was still a huge gap between the mattresses. And the mosquito net was for single beds, so it did not cover the sleeping area
The location is nice and I support the idea of being an eco resort. Nevertheless they where burning trash on the property which is probably not exactly what makes an eco resort.

AustraliaThe bathroom was a bit basic and the bungalow got quite warm. The fans worked quite well but if you struggle with heat we would recommend getting the room with air conditioning.
Very cute hotel with lots of surrounding greenery and private bungalows. Very close to the beach without having to pay the premium of a beachfront hotel. It is walking distance to multiple swimming spots and beachside restaurants. It is excellent value for money, definitely the cheapest place we stayed in Thailand!

Czech RepublicThe roosters. There are MANY and they are loud. Every morning they start at 5:30am and go on ever since. The pool, as great as it is, has the stairs made anti-slippery but to the point they are downright sharp and scratchy. We stayed for 2 weeks+ in the fan cabin, it was very pleasant but we lacked storage. There is nowhere to put your things. Two small bedside tables (with hollow shelves so your small things fall through) and one (equally hollow) hanging shelf with a few hangers. Staying just a few nights, this would not be an issue, but for longer stays, it is. The breakfast was lovely, they make homemade bread, but there is no variety. If you stay longer, it wears off. Again, if you stay just a few days, the breakfast is great. Oh and the taxis. Booked through the hotel, they are much more expensive than they need to be. The private taxi from the airport was 2500baht when booked through the hotel, on the way back we booked directly and it was only 1800,incl.ferries. The local Krabi taxi driver also told us that the taxi from the airport should cost no more than 2000. We also booked a trip to Koh Lanta National park, the asking price was 1700, eventually lowered to 1500 bht. The private taxi we took later to the airport told us that the going price should be around 1200, incl.wait time. So yeah, get you taxis elsewhere :-)
The staff makes this place amazing. They are friendly, helpful, available. The location is very near the beach, although for a nicer one, you need to walk on the rocks for a few hundred metres. Or you can walk on the main road, but that's unpleasant as there as no sidewalks. The Mook Lanta is linked with Lanta Lily resort and restaurant so you can use the pool, pool bar (great boardgames) and the restaurant there. The breakfast is fresh, homemade bread, coffee and hot water always available. The cold water for refills is both at the reception and next to the pool, that's a huge plus.

Austria- The trying part regarding sustainability: the A/C apartments should be isolated, so that the cool air doesnt go out of the creaks in the bungalows. - the walkway (bridge-like) is quite dangerous especially in the dark
The resort wants to be sustainable and tries: e.g. recycling bin at the reception, free water to refill bottles; many plants and animals; breakfast is prepared and refilled when needed (less food waste)

United KingdomThe main things were the bed and aircon. The bed was the hardest bed I've ever had, so was hard to get a decent sleep. The rooms I don't think have any insulation, so by 10am even with aircon at its coldest setting, the room gets very hot, an only cools down again at night.
Location was decent, and staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent too.

GermanyWe had the bungalow with fan, which is the cheapest version. You are close to nature, the walls and floor have many gaps, that means also any kind of insects can enter your room. We just had to deal with quite a few cockroaches in the bathroom in the nights. Also to mention the bed mattresses are too hard.
The atmosphere in the place is nice, they have a good breakfast and kind staff that helps you with any problem.
