Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy chalet was bordered by ponds and wilderness. During the day, various birds and butterflies were visitors. There were monkeys in the trees and giant lizards (around six feet long) occasionally sauntered past. At night, sitting on the porch, it was like being in the middle of a jungle. I loved it! The accommodation is basic but that is in keeping with the character of its location. (Having a TV would have entirely ruined the experience, though I did appreciate the very good wifi!) It’s clean and comfortable. The owner is friendly and helpful. If you want five star luxury, this is not the place for you. It will suit people who want the feeling of being away from it all, yet within ten minutes’ walk of some decent shops and restaurants. At the price, you could hardly do better. Highly recommended.

GermanyMosquito nets on the windows could help, so you could open the windows at night to let fresh air in without mosquitos.
Really nice host (arranged island hopping tour & next ferries for us), really nice bungalows, very well equipped with fridge, water heater, soap, dishwash & sponge, mosquito net, nice balcony, even water to refill (to drink) he provides! We really enjoyed our stay in an accommodation bit closer to nature.

United KingdomNothing to fault. Just bear in mind if you are coming to/from Ao Nang or Phuket boats are from a different pier on the south of the island, you'd need to arrange some transport to get there.
Amazing bungalow. The friendly owner Bao welcomed us on arrival on this cosy bungalow, very spacious with ensuite toilet and a space outside to relax with a hammock included. Very quiet space where you can only hear the sounds of the forest. Coming from the crowded Ao Nang, Koh Yao Noi was a blow of fresh air and a proper tropical island to relax. Located right next to one of the main roads of the island and a 5-10 minute walk to the pier that connects to the mainland in Tha Len

GermanyThe beds were quite hard for our european backs but it was totally ok :)
The bungalows are extraordinary in between the jungle area. The accomodation is right next to the beach and the cute Stella bar. The host was very nice and helpful and we rented a motor bike from him to explore the island. We would recommend the bungalows to anyone and would love to come back soon :)

GermanyWould’ve liked one of the bungalows at the back but we booked too late and they were already full :/
Bao was really helpful, organised scooter rentals, taxi to Manoh Pier, 5 island boat trip etc. The bungalow we stayed in was cute, had power and fans and there were hornbills nesting near us.

HungaryAs of comfort, there are a few small things in the bungalow that could be improved, like electric sockets closer to the ground or repairing the sink, but these did not have a negative influence on our stay. It would be nice to clean up the buildings next to the property as there is a lot of trash one has to pass on the way, which is not very nice.
We really liked our stay here and would return any time. The property is just a few steps away from the beach and some good places to eat are also close by. The mountain view bungalow is a bit rustic but a very good value for the price. It is fairly large, the bed very comfortable, the mosquito net in a quite good shape. We loved sitting on the balcony and listen to the birds/insects, because that's all you can hear there. Water and coffee is also included, and while there is no daily cleaning, they did clean/gave us new sheets or towels when we asked. The owner, Bao is a very friendly, cheerful guy. Although he wasn't always around, he gave us his number so we could always text him on Whatsapp when we needed something. He would always answer us quickly. He also rents motorbikes.

United KingdomOnly things that the owner has no control over! We booked this for the peace and quiet but unfortunately, our neighbours played loud music a lot, but this is nothing to do with the quality's of accomodation! Another thing was even though the jungle is super peaceful you can get very loud birdcalls in the morning. Both days we were awake from 6am. We liked it!
The owner bao was really accomodating, when I couldn't use the pillows he went out of his way to find one for me. Location in the west was great- some lovely eateries around. Island yoga do an incredible buffet breakfast.

The bed was the comfiest we’ve stayed in within all our travels! We had the basic bungalows and even so the bathroom was good with strong water pressure. Staff were very helpful with organising taxis etc. Mosquito net was also good.

AustraliaI loved it here. So peaceful and quiet, just the sounds of nature (and sometimes your neighbours). Only 1min walk to the coast and 2min to a waterfall. The room I was in was new, simple and totally nice. The bed was very comfortable and there was a mosquito net, fan, kettle, drinking water, toilet paper, soap, towels, blanket and broom. Everything was very clean. Great nature view from the balcony. Great place to relax in the hammock. Chill and kind hosts who picked me up on their scooter from the ferry when there were no taxi's. If I had known how nice it was I would have stayed longer here. Thank you 🙏

Netherlands On the right side of the island near some fine beaches. A little tucked away in the forest this totally unassuming group of bungalows. The owner is a wonderful man. He will show up when you need him but is otherwise not imposing. The bungalows are somewhat rustic, and not at all or for you when you are into luxury and flashiness. Very basic and honest place. Price/quality is unparalleled. Some of the bungalows are not in use anymore so it gives the place a somewhat forlorn atmosphere, which we loved. You really have the idea that you are lost at the end of the world. The feel of tourism in the 50s.

ItalyThe only negative point is that there is no breakfast and for the price we paid the breakfast should have been included.
Everything was great ! Koh Yao Noi is a true paradise. And Namtok Bungalows have all the necessary things. The beds are comfortable. The mosquito net is there. Windows are everywhere so a good light.. We got the AC room and it was working well. And the shower has cold and hot water. The terrace of the bungalow is very nice to chill in the evening and in the morning. Bao is an amazing person. Very much understanding of your needs. If something is not working he comes immediately and takes care of it. We did rent from Bao a scooter for 7 days. It was working well. We went to all places. And also we did a boat tour with the help of Bao. I would definitely go back there if I had a chance. Thank you Bao!

United KingdomIt would have been nice of there were more staff around every so often as we would have liked to ask about thr bike/sidecar rental Baum was nice but we only saw him once and Jai was helpful but again, they weren't always around. Otherwise, we had a great stay!! Kop kun kaa
The location was quite fun - in amongst lots of flowers and nature. We could hear a buffalo(?) during thr night, aswell as all the cicadas. It was lovely to hear nature instead of traffic! We were a few mins from a small stretch of beach and a lovely restaurant Stella's. If you don't rode a bike, you're pretty far from anything else. But we walked to another stretch of beach and a cafe and it was fine. The staff organised our taxi back to the ferry pier for 100tbt pp, which was fair value. The staff also provided mosquito spirals and a lighter, whixh was great for when we wanted to sit outside. The room was clean and the more is a mosquito net for the bed. Extension lead and kettle with coffee etc. The bathroom was clean and the shower was warm - all great. We would have liked to stay longer. If you don't like bugs, this isn't for you as other reviews have said. But you're completely fine under the net and if you don't mind the little geckos and lizards, they eat thr bugs so make great room buddies!

The room was very comfortable and clean, peaceful and in such a beautiful location; surrounded by nature, close to the beach and some restaurants with delicious food options, even for vegetarians. The host was really helpful, super friendly without being overbearing and was very fair with scooter rental. If you're looking for a relaxing stay on a peaceful paradise island, this is your place.
