The alley does have a lot of dogs, so expect some howl sessions. Several hardware problems in room: Aircon outdoor unit started making extremely loud noise for hours sometimes (then went quiet by itself again for no obvious reason), towel rack installed incorrectly so that it falls off the wall, few more small things (seems like owner does not have access to good handyman to fix problems). Process of checkin and finding the owner was not so smooth, despite their helpful note in their Google Maps name...the Google Maps point for Nice is at the wrong place (it is at Namaste Resort's neighbor with bulldogs) and tells us to go to Arguna Restaurant, but Arguna Restaurant does not have clear signage on the street, nor it is labeled on Google Maps. One of the owners seemed a little aloof and not service-minded sometimes and didn't treat her restaurant staff well. There was no sign in/around the room with the WiFi password (you had to know that the phone number embossed on the tissue boxes was also the code).

Amazingly new and clean rooms at the end of a mostly quiet alley just a 2 minute walk from the beach. Aircon powerful even for March hot season. WiFi good once I was able to get the password (see below). Garden environment was nice. Rooms surrounded mostly by empty fields.

The room was missing a few basic things such as night lights. Mattress was too hard (traditional Thai style) which was not very comfortable for us.

The place is clean and spacious. The owner is extremely nice and helpful. The place is supposed to feel like home and it certainly does. There is a kitchen and a washing machine too. It close to the beach but not in the first line off the road. Bonus points for very decent water pressure ;)

Not dislikes per se but; - No wifi in the rooms - The staff don’t speak any English; so ensure you have google translate handy.

We had an amazing 2 night stay here. There are 2 cottages. It’s tranquil & quiet. Excellent location, right behind the beach - however you do need some form of transport to get around the area! The room is new, clean, spacious and the bed was comfortable. The shower had great pressure. The owner Noi is absolutely lovely. She is a courteous & generous host who was very easy to chat with. Their restaurant is also located right upfront of the alley to the property (approx. 150m) which is very convenient. There is also a washing machine outside for use at 40 baht. Honestly it was pretty perfect & we would definitely stay at this beautiful accommodation again in the future ☺️

We had a really lovely time staying with Noi and her staff. The accommodation was new and clean, private and very relaxing. The food at the owners restaurant was an added bonus and was some of the tastiest food experienced during our visit. The location was excellent and we can thoroughly recommend Nice Homestay

My single, minor issue was that the blind/curtain behind the toilet & next to the shower was transparent, so I had to hang my towel over it, when I had the light on, for privacy (I think the neighbours saw more than they bargained for, before I realised this :P).

Where do I start? I have had the most stress free, exciting, wonderful time in khao sam roi Rod, and my stay played a large part in that! The room: at Nice Home Stay, there are two mini houses to stay in, they have a shared garden, but a building separates them visibly for privacy, the houses themselves are immaculate, having only been built very recently, you have a regular sized fridge, air conditioning (with fan only option built in), a huuuge king sized bed (with the standard hard mattress you will commonly find across Thailand, which is much better for your back than a soft one), a kettle and an en suite with a hot shower. Noi will bring you 2 small bottles of water and more coffee and whitener daily Shampoo and conditioner is provided, with a lovely lemon scent, along with handsoaps. The garden: the garden is very well maintained, there is a washing machine outside that takes coins, there are private seats & table on each individual porch, with ashtray provided, there is also a communal seating area, should you want to hang out with your neighbours. The bicycles stored outside are free to use - which are great for exploring the local area with. Scooter rental: this was one of the things that really made me feel relaxed, the scooter rental was totally hassle free, while it was a tiny bit more expensive than other local places at 300baht a day (though it is peak season currently) it was well worth it for the peace of mind of not having to leave my passport. And as much as the local area is beautiful, you really do benefit from having your own transport to explore the many many amazing areas that Sam roi yod has to offer which are driving distance away! My scooter was in great condition and I was provided with a helmet.
