Harder mattresses would make this place perfect!

I love Orchid Residence, and I am a repeat customer there. That said, I am a digital nomad, and my back in the morning is at the mercy of the mattress I sleep on. I do my morning stretches, but if this place would get some really firm mattresses, it would be perfect! If you don't mind soft mattresses, then it already is, cheers!

Checkin was at 12.. but we had to wait for 1.5 hours for them to give us our room.. The first room we were given was on 4th floor with no lift. The ac didn't work well and toilet didnt flush.. they fixed the toilet but ac remained an issue and we were sweating at night. We raised this and they said we can only change rooms after 2 nights although I saw there were empty rooms.. but idk.. so it was inconvenient. It would be nice if they left the water bottles near the door so we shoudnt have to ask them... The balcony is toooo small in the room we got... can barely stand out. The new room also on 4th floor had good ac.. but balcony was the same. Overall the experience can be improved for the money paid.

Balcony is small, better to say there is no balcony at all (size is less that a human foot). The parking lot is inaccessible. Hotel description advertises free car parking, but this is a big overestimation. There is a parking lot, but: 1) it is located separately in a different property, 2) it is suitable for motorbikes only, not for cars, 3) the Soi in which it is located is one-way and very narrow, attempt to go there in a car was a mistake, I just lost about an hour there. All in all, better to park the car somewhere outside, on the main street.

Excellent bathroom! Have both shower cabin and bath tub.

The noise outside is immense. It's not a place for someone who seeks quietness. Then again, it's not a quiet city. There seems to be confusion if I've paid for the accommodation or not. Because my credit card number was taken by booking.com, they couldn't work out if I've paid booking.com or if I was to pay them. A bit of inexperienced in the business.

The cleaning staff was excellent. The room is clean. TV has lots of channels and a variety of stuff to watch. Air conditioning and fan. The room is good size. And it feels safe.

We only like the short hair in the evening huz serving us and ms. Vhoon. I appreciate them at first though all needs to get paid no complimentary at all. Other staffs most especially the cashier isn’t even smiling or greeting. If you’re looking for a good service I don’t think this is a good place to start with.

This hotel does not have a lift/elevator.

The hotel restaurant has good food at a reasonable price, and they have draft beer. The location is very good, with markets, restaurants, Bangla Road, and Patong Beach all within easy walking distance.

I booked via booking.com and when i reached hotel they are saying the type of room that u booked is not available. If room was not available then how booking.com allowed me to book.Also the lady on the reception was rude and arrogant. I was on road as they didn’t allow me to get in. I them roamed around and got the new hotel. Patheticc.🙂

I've been to more than 200 hotels all over the world, and this is one of the worst experiences. The bed linen was smelly and worn. And dirty. The sheets were dirty and smelly. The towels were dirty. INSANELY hellish smell from sewers which started about 1 am! I couldn't sleep till 5 am because of the terrible smell and tried to cover the bathroom door grill with towels. The safe was broken. When I showed everything to the manager she still charged me 100% for this terrible night saying - "well, you slept there!" (as if I could go anywhere else at 4.00 - 5.00 AM). Overall impression - disaster. Highly not recommended.

Right in the middle of Patong where everything is available, a few minutes walk from noisy Bangla road but still silent at night. Cheap laundry, discounted trips to James Bond Island etc, free parking for my hire car, decent food and very helpful and friendly staff.
