Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. United KingdomA basic hotel that is fine for a night's stay if you are passing through. Easy to find and plenty of food and drink options nearby. They let me keep my bicycle in the room. Beer, drinks and snacks are available at the lobby at normal prices.

nice bed and shower, 600mts from Bang Kapi mall but down a long dark street and on the opposite site of the main road so it’s a long way around if you’re driving to / from the mall

United StatesReception said there was a 3% charge to use credit card to pay for booking; this was NOT stated on the booking on Booking.com The listing on Booking.com said the room had SAT TV..not a single channel in English. Reception gives WiFi password but you only use the WiFi on max of two devices. So even using my laptop once, and it being off, trying to use my Kindle and a phone..I couldn't log into the Kindle. Many mosquitoes in room. Killed a cockroach near bed by bathroom. No handicapt ramp at entrance, someone even parked a motorbike right in front of the steps leading into the reception entrance making it difficult to get by. I told reception but nothing was done. No restaurant Cannot regulate the temperature of the shower; the heater heats water even on the lowest setting and I could only regulate the temperature by turning heater off, then the shower was cold.
Reception allowed me to store my bike inside my room.

ThailandThe staff wasn't very friendly upon check-in. Kind of scowled at me. Couldn't be bothered to show me to the room. Maybe I'm too picky, but 850 baht isn't that cheap in Thailand, outside of Bangkok. I would expect (or at least hope) for better. The toilet ran non-stop. The shower sprays across the bathroom, flooding the floor. There were insects crawling in the room.
The location was ok -- near to where I wanted to be. The bed was reasonably comfortable.
