Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Basic spacious room with everything you need. The bed could fit three people! It’s also very quiet at night, no street noise as it’s located in an ally next to a canal. There is a breakfast restaurant in the alley with nice western style breakfast options. Including Healthy options like fruit with yoghurt and fruit smoothies for example. Close to Kao San road and the main temples.

Great location, walking distance from Khao San and Grand Palace. (Place is quiet. Thought it would be noisy due to its location, but very peaceful. You will only hear the birds in the morning.) Easy to find, accurate google maps location. It was clean. Not only the room, also hallways. Also, common toilet and shower are super clean! (This is a rare find, as most common facilities are not the same as the ones attached to the rooms.) Free coffee. Free biscuits. Room has no smell (Which is good for me) Heated water.

SloveniaEverything was ok, but extremely basic.
Pleasant but quite simple homestay, not far away from Khao San. Room was extremely basic, bathroom super small, so you could not properly sit on the toilet or shower. Since is it tucked away in a side street, next to the river channel, it is extremely quiet. Be aware you actually live in someone's home. Good for a short stay.

SpainThe en-suite was very basic but functional. We were under an impression we’d have a balcony which wasn’t the case. We were charged twice for our laundry and it was mixed up with other guests’ clothes.
I liked the location and it was quiet and clean.

FranceThe lady who owns the guesthouse is friendly but do not speak very good english, she can't help you for touristy stuff you have to find everything by yourself, nobody is really hanging out in the living room downstairs, so it is more an hotel than a guesthouse. The room was a bit dirty ( hair on pillow) and bathroom was a bit noisy at night (water not evacuating propely), the AC was loud and old but again this is what you get for this price, I did not mind and did not bother me to enjoy my trip to Bangkok.
Really well located (10min walk to Khao san road), very calm area, free coffee in the morning, next to the guesthouse they were a small restaurant along the canal it is very cheap and the ladies were nice, the room was cheap, I think it is worth the price specially for Bangkok.

ItalyThe bathroom is pretty small and there was a bit of sound - like water dropping somewhere nearby the room, but I don't know about the other rooms. Anyways the overall conditions and price are appropriate
Perfect location to quickly move to the main spits around the city. The common area is very cozy (this time very few people were there so it was totally quiet). The room is nice as well but the bathroom is very small, yet it can be enough to manage for a couple of nights and has hot water

The accommodation was clean and the room was nice. We had AC and warm water. It is like a 8/9 minute walk from Koh San road so it’s close but nice and quiet. There weren’t any other guests when we were there, so it isn’t social, but that we were looking for some peace and quiet so that was nice. The host doesn’t speak English, but she’s very friendly.

NetherlandsIf I would have to point something out it is the humidity of the place (probably not entirely their fault due to the river next to it). But overall good stay and worth the money!
We only stayed for one night, so we didn't really use much of the facilities. But the staff was friendly and the neighbourhood quiet. Room was clean enough. WiFi worked and there was a hot shower!

United KingdomCould be cleaner - especially the bathroom.
Quaint guest house with a great location - just down the road from Khao San but located far enough away that the noise isn’t an issue. Really liked the small patio at the front of the building, lovely and relaxing on an evening.

NicaraguaThis is an old hotel so everything seems... old! Mosquito nets at the windows need small fixing, one common toilet was out of order (but it's globally clean). Private bathroom is very small. The owner speaks almost no english and interaction is reduced to more or less nothing, so be warned if you need info and advice. Also, this might be good or not depending on how you like your stay, but there is no "hostel life".
Good situation: quiet as there are no streets around the hotel, and it's near the Rambuttri / Kao San area or the Phra Athit road (with the buses). Everything works: AC, hot water.
