Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe would have definitely appreciated some mosquito-nets on the beds. We had some ourselves, but the ceilings were way too high to attach them. We got stung all over, even though we had put repellent before sleeping. The reason for the mosquitos were probably the windows that didn't close properly. The mosquito-nets would have made our night much easier (and the following days of scratching...)
Based on the pictures we expected an approx. 50 square meters bungalow with a little private pool. Instead we got a huge villa with 4m+ ceilings and spacious rooms, it felt like it was over 150square meters big. We had two big bedrooms, one enormous dining area, one additional room with sofas, a huge kitchen and 2 toilets. The pool also exceeded our expectations: quite big and very clean! A big terrace with seating options and a nice view to the sea. The garden was very pretty and the walk down to the (stony) beach was very nice. The person that welcomed us was super friendly and even took us a short ride to a 7-eleven to buy some stuff. The fridge was full of water bottles!

United KingdomRoom was not cleaned one day of two and water left outside in the heat. We were told that we get 15% off at the restaurant next door, however that did not happen.
The room was lovely and the private pool was Devine.

BelgiumThe hotel is situated at 5 minutes from the airport, which is why we chose it. But it's next to a busy road. It wasn't noisy, but you need to know it's quite far from the center. You need a motorbike or taxi to go to town. We didn't mind because we had an excellent lunch and dinner in the hotel restaurant, but it's not at walking distance from the tourist center. Also, the concept is more like a privacy hotel. You have your own swimming pool, but there's no shared swimming pool to hang around. The hotel doesn't have a proper beach either. I did go snorkeling, which was nice, but it's very rocky and not convenient for swimming. It doesn't have a sandy beach. So it depends on what you want. We wanted to spend a day chilling and resting before we flew back to Bangkok and it was perfect for that. But I wouldn't recommend for people with children or if you like to be in a central place, surrounded by shops and restaurants.
We booked a villa with private pool. It was lovely. The room is beautiful and spacious and you can literally walk from the room right into the pool. There are walls around the pool area, so there's privacy. The bed was excellent. We also enjoyed the restaurant. My husband had some western food there and he loved it. I chose Thai food and it was also delicious. Very friendly, helpful staff. I also snorkled a bit in the sea right in front of the hotel garden and I saw lots of fish there. 5 minute drive from the airport.

NetherlandsThe wood in the villa was not in the best state anymore. Therefore doors and windows did not fully close. Therefore it was very difficult to keep insects out of the house.
Villa was great, a colonial style villa with an infinity pool. Much bigger than expected (both villa and pool). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was good, order the traditional style courses, very tasteful!! Breakfast very comprehensive and diverse (eggs, muesli and fruit)

United KingdomWater system was dicey. Sometimes no issue, other times nearly impossible to shower and the toilet wouldn't flush. Would've been an issue if we were staying longer.
Spacious, clean, massive bed and private plunge pool. Amazing to be able to swim whenever suits. Staff were awesome, helped us with transport and sorting out an iron.

AustraliaOur AC died and had to change room. Recommend regular maintenance to ensure this doesn’t happen in the future.
Very friendly staff and fabulous food at the restaurant (highly recommended the massaman curry). It is a little out of the way but you can easily get a car on the main road which is very reasonably priced. Very quiet and private.

United KingdomThe apartment we had was quite low down a hill, getting up to breakfast or to the entry/exit to go out for the day was a tiring uphill walk. The hot water was not consistent. The bed was very firm but that is personal preference. The beach was very rocky and not easy to get to the sandy beaches on either side. Room service was advertised on Booking.com but wasn’t actually available. The TV only had limited viewing and was all in thai - we stayed at other properties which had options for Netflix, YouTube and AmazonPrime.
The pool was really inviting and the included breakfast was lovely. The staff were always polite and helpful. The room had a little bar fridge which was nice!

AustraliaAs some other reviewer mentioned the shower water was somewhat cold. We did read it before we booked. We solved the problem in turning the air con off before jumping in the pool and have a shower after. That way the room heated up fairly quickly and the water temperature was almost welcomed :-) I didn't know that the beach at the resort was so rocky. Perhaps it had been mentioned in a review but at one stage one has to stop reading reviews and make up once mind. A bit further down the beach is sandy.
The room was big enough for 2 people, the shower a good size, the private pool a big bonus since we arrived in a heat wave (10-15 of May). We stayed in Villa 4. The bed was big and the mattress very comfortable. The breakfast (choice of three options) was plenty. As I am a creature of habit and of European origin (I just can't stomach a cooked breakfast) opted for the Continental Breakfast every morning, my partner due to being vegetarian and coeliac (has to live gluten free) for the Asian breakfast. Third choice would have been American. Every single person working at the resort was professional, very friendly and helpful. The resort is hilly, possibly not the best option if somebody has some mobility issues but the view from the restaurant terrace makes up for the struggle to climb up stairs in the heat. We only ate dinner twice at the restaurant. Plenty of dishes, Asian and Continental to choose from. The portion of my choice of meal was a bit on the smaller size so the second time I ordered an additional salad. It is further away from the main street so you have to always take a tuk tuk, taxi or hire a moped/scooter. It was our choice because we wanted a quiet stay. The towels and pool towels got changed daily. It felt almost decadent considering all the other places we have been to within Australia and Europe, asking guests to use one towel for up to three days. So all these water saving is ingrained in us and yes I do think it's a good thing but this one time I forgot about saving the world for 5 days. I will make up for it somehow. Promised. The WiFi was excellent.

IndiaThe location of the property is a bit away from Chaweng Beach. You will need to rent a motorcycle or a car or keep taking taxi trips if you want to visit Chaweng. The beach of the property is non-existent. Its a rocky beach with rough waters so not worth visiting. The furniture and bathroom fittings are old and run down. The property needs renovation. If you want only want to have private pool time and that is your only consideration at finalising a property then you can consider staying here otherwise there are can be better options near Chaweng that might be slightly expensive but worth the money spent and experience.
The only good thing about the property is that they have really nice private pools. The staff is friendly and cooperative.
