Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandFar from centre and up a hill. The path there isn't great and quite steep at some points.
Staff were amazing and also the best part of this hotel. They gave someone waiting to bring your luggage to and from the pier. The hotel doggos are very friendly 😀😃

United KingdomThe walk from town is quite precarious and although the accommodation is tucked out of the way and quite secluded, the music/noise from the nightlife from the beach area travels,, making it very noisy to sleep at night. Although fully appreciated the issues faced with the water supply, we were very disappointed with the staffs' attitude to the fact that we had no running water to shower for 3 days, and sadly we decided to check out a day earlier, but with no consideration whatsoever for any reimbursement from management.
View was stunning, accommodation was characteristic and adequate, breakfast was good.

United KingdomLocation isn’t great- be prepared to trek 40 minutes from the pier. Staff were very lovely and friendly but when we arrived no one was there to help with our bags (because the staff from all hotels use these wheelbarrows to carry your bags) but every other hotel person was there other than ours so after asking around and waiting we decided to walk (bad bad idea) it was very hot and we had 2 back packs each to carry. The walk is fairly long to the pier and to get to the hotel isn’t easy we had to ask a few people for directions and also not very safe in terms of walking on cliff edges and across planks. Our room was lovely and overall clean but there was a singular cockroach in our bathroom and a a fair few ants in the bathroom who ended up eating the cockroach. Also because the island is small and we were staying the side where the beach is there was a lot of music playing until the early hours of the morning which isn’t a huge problem but when it came to us leaving and having to get up early the next day. We didn’t get much sleep because of the music on the beach
Amazing views from our room, really picturesque. Very pretty flowers and when we arrived they had made our room very pretty for our honeymoon

CanadaUnfortunately, there's a lot of negative points for this hotel. 1. The first thing you need to know is that there is no car or any sort of transportation on the island except walking. You will arrive at the Ao Ton Sai Pier, which is a 30mins walk from the hotel (because of all the luggage). The personnel is at least transporting your luggage for you when you arrive/ leave, but the closest restaurants/ bars/ shops are at least 15min walk. It wouldn't be that bad if you would have to do a walk in the woods on small pieces of concrete everywhere. At night there is not really any lights, and a lot of bugs! It's one of the furthest hotel from any life (especially night life) and the beach. Let's say you go down in the morning and you dont do the whole path 5 times a day. Especially with the heat, the sun and the ascension you have to do in the woods, it's a litteral workout. 2. Once you get to your room at night, it is boiling in there!!! There's only 1 key that activates the power, so not some AC while you're gone. Once you start it, it will take a while to freshen up. For some reason our bathroom was a sauna. We had a hard time closing the door for 5min to take a freezing shower because of how hot it gets. I don't think the AC really gets in there. 3. There was no hand soap, we had to ask for a second roll of toilet paper, there's only 1 night stand and 2 plugs on that same side of the bed. When you take a shower there's water everywhere in the bathroom.
Everyone that works here is really nice. They even help us take our luggage all the way to the hotel. I've seen bad comments about the music from the beach parties, but i don't think you can escape it because of how small the island is, and it really wasn't that bad

United KingdomThe bungalows have an amazing view (if you book the deluxe option) otherwise you just have a view of the other bungalows! We booked deluxe so had an amazing view. The bed was made beautifully & very comfy. The air conditioning was switched on for us on arrival which was a nice touch. Also had a minibar, with refreshing drinks & snacks. Water & toilet roll replenished daily. Location!! Don’t be put off by the bad location reviews, it is a long walk up steep stairs/hills especially with heavy luggage in the peak of the heat. But this is worth the view:)

AustriaI knew it said that the parties in the bay would be loud but i definetely underestimated how much! the hotel is near a party beach and you have (very) loud music until around 2/3 am. that would be barable if other things are ok but my room had a narrow view on the sea and the bathroom is super dark and the showers have poor pressure (your room is literally a cabin on rocks) so it was more like living in a trailer. since you are in the middle of nature while on the toilet i watched a colony of ants drag a dead praying mantis through the bathroom floor and then disappear in the shower drain. i dont mind nature and insects but im sure many others will not find that nice. what made me leave before my time was the road to the hotel. its literally unpaved trail and rocks, going through the back of private homes,in the night its very dark and at one point near the water where you can slip on the rocks very easily. I dont party and dont get drunk but oh boy if you are tipsy and want to get home thats an adventure! it would be alright if it was cheaper but its not. i found a super nice and clean bungalow directly on the beach in the city center for less! so I left earlier and did not get money back. i sent an email to staff and they never even answered me, perhaps so they dont have to argue with me about the money. didnt even get the deposit back. the girl played dumb and said "ok" and took the key back.I saw many older couples as guests and im happy if they like the hotel and dont mind the disco nearby and the disaster path but it was definetely nothing for me. for that price you get such better places on that island! not worth that price! perhaps as a budget accomodation it would be good but not like this. Oh and if you still want to stay there ask them to pick you up at the pier! the walk is long and hard and they can carry your lagguage at least the one time you arrive.
I guess the view is nice if you get the right room

CanadaWe read reviews, thought the walk wouldn’t be a big deal but I’m the mid day sun it was HARD and a generally confusing walk with little to no signage. Their dogs are very cute, but one of them peed on my bag…
Amazing view from the lobby! The staff were very kind and accommodating to let us extend 1 night when we got Bangkok Belly on the island. Gave us extra water and helped us with our bags.

NorwayMusic from the beach clubs gets amplified in the bay and the noice level in the night is extremely high in the bungalows even if they’re quite far away from the actual clubs. We he great earplugs with us, this helped and I recommend it👍

AustraliaWe used the washing service at the resort and the staff included other people’s clothes in our washing by mistake. It was a very hard hotel to get to, the hike up to the resort does require a certain level of fitness. If you were suffering from a mobility injury I don’t believe you would be able to stay at this resort. If you plan on staying at the resort pack ear plugs as the sound travels quite far from the party beach and the music doesn’t stop until 2am every night.
The view from the restaurant area was incredible. The staff were very friendly and kind. The breakfast menu was very cheap plus they had fruit and other snacks that you could have for free for staying at the resort. If you had any dramas you could contact the host to help you out at any time. There were cats and dogs at the resort which made the stay very cute 🥰

AustraliaThe music from the beach is audible from the room and shuts off around 2am, would recommend bringing earplugs. The room did not get cleaned while we stayed which was a bit annoying due to sand. Quite a hike to get to the hotel up a lot of stairs so would not recommend to anyone with mobility issues, however we did enjoy the exercise.
Very nice staff. They collected us from the pier and took our bags the whole way up to the property and did the same for our departure. The air conditioning was great and bed was comfortable. Beautiful views from the room and a nice secluded location. Despite other reviews, it’s only a 10min walk or so to the busy area of the island. I would be much happier staying here away from the busy area, plus it’s worth it for the view.

RussiaIt was a half of an hour before the breakfast time ends, but it was already late to order one. The blanket is 100% synthetic, if sleeping with air conditioner on, wake up wet And the beach disco plays extremely loud music from 10 pm to 2 am, lots of stress
The view from the bungalows is awesome and the view from the lobby even better. The hotel is far from the crowded streets. The stuff from the hotel helps to get the luggage to the room and even back to the pier after checking out.

ThailandThe way to the bungalows (around 15-20min) are not so easy, you have to be in a good condition. Especially if you like to enjoy some drinks, the way back gets harder😉 we had some unexpected visits in the morning from party people that couldn't find their own bungalows again. The room is really just a big bed and a little bathroom. On the balcony you don't have any chairs or a table, there's just a little wood bench not really comfortable.
The view and the stuff are really nice!! We had a little breakfast while enjoying the amazing view, the food was also tasty. If you're happy with less, you can enjoy a nice time here.

CanadaThe bed bugs ( I’m left with bites all over my face and neck), tv not working, shower not working, no amenities. Tiny little box of a room, I would pay to stay in a hostel instead of this dump. Owner manager is joke aswell. Breakfast was horrible.
Nothing about this “resort”(more like dumping ground) is good. You will break your ankle on the uneven, jagged trail up hill all the way to your room (20min walk)
