Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLocation is outside of town. Your own transport is required due to the slightly remote location, so may not be ideal for everyone. There isn't much else around within easy walking distance.
Very quiet location amongst the rice paddies, clean and modern facilities and even a small pool on site. Rooms were prepared to a high standard and very spacious. Separate bathroom, bedroom and entry. Food at the on-site cafe was very good and reasonably priced.

It's a true paradise where we could stay for the rest of the year. Breakfast is very nice near the pool, the restaurant has Asian and European options but whatever you choose it is delicious and the prices are fair. The pool and garden are so well kept and the whole scenery looks like a fairytale. The bungalow is large, beautifully decorated and quiet. There are bikes and motorcycles for rent, The staff deserves 20 out of 10, very attentive, helpful and friendly. We are sure to come back here and probably stay longer than just one week.

United StatesAll great!!
Phoo and her staff were so wonderful! Simple continental breakfast and coffee in the am, which was lovely. Great affordable dinner at the restaurant. Villas/Rooms are gorgeous, spacious and clean! Resort is situated in a quiet and peaceful area with lovely nature views and sounds. Since the Resort is 25-30 minutes outside of Chiang Mai, Phoo helped me to hire a driver for tours and I was able to rent a scooter from her to explore the country side. Cannot recommend Phoo Na Resort enough. I will book here again next time I visit!

United KingdomAs previously noted, the location is secluded. However, we were equipped with a motorbike, and the staff generously offered rides to various destinations in town and beyond.
The accommodation served as a tranquil refuge, nestled away and seemingly reserved just for our enjoyment. The staff members were exceptional, ensuring our well-being from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights of our experience was the presence of charming dogs and cats, who warmly approached us for friendly greetings. The overall atmosphere truly resembled a homely stay, creating a sense of belonging and familial comfort.

NetherlandsIts a bit remote, thats also the charm of the place. They offer rent bikes, for your daytrips. Only on your way back its best to book a grab in advance. And don’t expect to walk to a 7-eleven ;)
The personnel and owner where so super kind. Everything was great. The rooms where tidily made every day. The food of the restaurant was good. And there where super friendly pets. 100% would go again.

GermanyThe location is great if you don't mind being a bit far from a city - and/or if you have your own mode of transportation to get around.
The list of what we liked is long: the room has plenty of space, incl. storage space; all the windows had bug screens (in 2 weeks we had zero mosquitoes in the room!), and the bed was excellent. Wifi was fast and reliable, and the fridge worked well, too. It's possible to rent a scooter/motorbike, and we were even able to get (pedal) bikes, too. The staff are wonderful: friendly, competent and kind. Phoo herself is a wonderful hostess, so helpful, caring and good-natured. The food at the restaurant was excellent - and inexpensive! The large terrace has a lovely view, and there are countless chirping birds all over the place. The pool itself, as well as the pool area, is lovely. The whole place - incl. the beautiful gardens, is well maintained and decorated with love. It was hard to leave after feeling so at home - thanks again, Phoo & staff! Bonus tip: visit the Tweechol Botanical Garden (ca. 15 min away by car) - best w/a bike rental (inside the park).

AustraliaMinor problem with the air con in the main living area. It leaked badly (missing a condensation pipe?) and had to be turned off. We got by with an oscillating fan which was adequate. Irrespectively, the bedroom was also air conditioned so no big deal.
A lovely resort in a quiet but fashionable area NE if Chiang Mai. Very pleasant grounds with a very good pool sufficiently lengthy to swim short laps. Meals were beaut with Euro or Thai options. The owner kindly made an early breakfast for us (which we appreciated as we had a reasonably long drive to Lom Sak). The bungalow was more than adequate for us including a kitchenette and study. Very well appointed. Very good horng nam in my opinion.

CanadaIt's paradise. Exceptionally well manicured, landscaped, quiet, set amongst rice fields, it's so well designed and beautifully arranged. There are personal touches everywhere. The staff are exceptionally polite, helpful and are always smiling. The meals were impeccable. I never got tired of what was offered. Coffee, lattes, and espresso are offered along with so many other varieties. Just ask! I had a chance to speak with the owner, Phoo and she literally made this place out of nothing. It took years of excavating, laying foundations, irrigating and planning. She is a rare delight of a human being who shines so brightly that all can't help but be mesmerized by her. I wish I had more time to speak with her and get to know her. The guests that this resort attracts are on the quiet side. There is beer but no hard liquor. This is not a party resort. It's a place of relaxation, reflection, healing and a chance to find oneself. If you wanted company, it's easy enough to find in the common area. The salt water pool! AC worked well, as did everything in the washroom. The room was functional and very well designed. The view on the balcony is just amazing. The birds, the sounds of nature. The dogs that live on the property and the cats are such a delight. You can see the love that was put into this place as well as how it is permeated everywhere within it. The locals are exceptionally friendly and there are plenty to do in the area if one so desires it. Scooters and transportation are easily arranged by Phoo Whether you are a local from Chiang Mai or as I was, coming all the way from Canada and needed a safe place to land and gather my thoughts, this is it. I miss the place, I miss the dogs, the cats, I miss Phoo and her wonderful staff. If you need rest, inspiration, healing and to believe in magic again, this is the place to be.
