Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandThe staff are always friendly, our first morning at breakfast, an older member of staff was very friendly and helpful but unfortunately there was one younger member of staff that wasn't very friendly on our second day, during breakfast.
It's quiet and peaceful. Very clean and pet friendly. Beautiful views from the breakfast area.

United KingdomParadise. A lush resort situated on the banks of the River Kwae. The rooms were a reasonable size and had everything needed. The internal green outside space made being in the room (and shower room) fabulous. The resort is quiet and really underused. The staff are always busy cleaning and maintaining everything to a high standard. The pool is wonderful and the views stunning. Incredibly peaceful and a perfect base to visit The Erawan Falls, The Bridge, War Graves etc. We would definitely stay again. There is a vegetarian restaurant nearby (turn right as you leave the entrance) that serves wonderful food (no licence but you can byo) as well as another bar/restaurant (think it was called Ave) close by that also serves good vegetarian options. The resort has its own tuk tuk service. Breakfast is served overlooking the river. There is a choice of 3 options which were fine.

GermanyGreat place, small hotel with sweet furnished rooms. Great pool with awesome view to river. We were pretty much alone most of the time, hence it was very quiet. Breakfast was typical Thai - rice, egg, chili or white toast with marmalade, hence a simple question of taste. Location was good, very close to a great vegan/vegetarian restaurant. Staff was very helpful and always eager to answer all questions.

AustraliaWe found it a bit challenging to get up and down the platform that the bed was based on. It only had a step on one side. The fridge was noisy, which is such a shame because the place is otherwise very tranquil.
We had a most enjoyable stay at Ploy Resort. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location is excellent, halfway between the Bridge and Skywalk, close to good restaurants and bars. The setting too is sublime, with a great pool and recreation area right by the river, and a bridge across to a lovely private park. The rooms are old style, but clean and with enough space for our luggage. The bathroom was large and seemed quite new.

It was in a beautiful setting overlooking the river Kwai. The decoration of the rooms were all wooden and authentic. The surrounding gardens were well kept and the rooms were clean and had everything you needed. The staff were fantastic they went over and above to help you with anything you wanted nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

ThailandEverything is nearly perfect. Room and toilet are clean. Just little small thing such as hanging or hook for towels. They provide shampoo and liquid soap in shower but no liquid soap on basin.
Nice homey resort located in central area that you could walk to nearby shops. We actually stay just for attending concert at Cheunrudee Resort which is very closed. We didn't have much time to enjoy resort but we could see nice garden next to the river.

ThailandHot water is not working, but you’re in Thailand so it won’t be a problem. Limited space for car parking. We came back a bit late so ended up parking outside the street
Picture on Booking cannot do justice to this hidden gem at all! The whole place is beautifully decorated and cozy. Sense of Thai and modern wood interior are well integrated. Our room is super clean. Bathroom is well designed. The pool with Kwai river view is amazingly relaxed. They provide free breakfast as well with 3 options including ham, pancake, and fried rice. Staff are so nice and helpful. The location is right on the Main Street and close to Lotus’s convenience store. I’d highly recommend!

BelgiumThe place was very empty, no bar service (not even the possibility to by a drink a reception) We didn’t quite understand what was happening, but it has all potential to be an awesome and cosy place.
Such a beautiful place by the river with comfortable and nicely decorated rooms. Loved the pool. Staff overall friendly and offered transport for small fee to the bridge. Plenty of good options in the neighbourhood.

AustraliaIt would be lovely to have a rack where you could dry your wet swimmers. There is nowhere to hang wet clothes.
The location of Ploy was excellent, the staff were SO incredibly friendly and kind, it was wonderful. We had a really sweet room, with all comforts. The pool overlooking the river was really amazing and so welcome after a long day out. I highly recommend this place, it was the best place to stay in Kanchanaburi. A little gem.

United StatesThe only complaint (which shouldn’t be a complaint) is about a slight security flaw, but probably more of a insulation “thing” if temperature changes bother? The wooden French doors! And this would be only for any of the main floor’s rooms (I spent the entire time in this section of the resort, the pool, and the game lounge). Definitely not the standard for exterior doors but has more of a traditional look and idea behind it which makes it chic, for sure. They are only secured by a wooden cross bar that locks the room once inside. The staff here are really a delight, the younger guys working have really high spirits and were super humble. If it were Bangkok, they wouldn’t have a property like this anyway but it’s fine for Kanchanaburi. Staff are not so English fluent, as expected - if you’re visiting, I’d highly recommend Ploy Resort.
There’s a lot of options on this side of Kanchanaburi. It’s central to all the popular bars and restaurants on their “strip” equivalent (Easy Bar, places for tapas, and a mini Lotus). Anywhere TukTuks are parked is usually a sign that there’s tourist foot traffic (most Thai locals are bigger on motorbike taxis or Grab/Bolt).

I loved this place !! The grounds and gardens were immaculate and so beautiful. The location was great from the train station and the view from the pool area is amazing. The room was like my own little bungalow with a huge glass window so could see out onto a small enclosed garden area. For the first couple of days I was the only guest there but the staff could t do enough for me. They so helpful and friendly although English is not great. However this did t pose a problem at all. I will 100% be back here. I loved it :)

PolandNot cleaned very often if you stay longer. The room was on a basement level, but had a window and was quieter thanks to the underground location. No mosquito nets so couldn't open the windows to air the room.
Big room with huge bathroom. Clean and very well kept. Staff was great, but spoke very little English. Good breakfast. Amazing riverside area with even a small island! Pet friendly.

GermanyGreat, calm and beautiful place. The whole resort is beautifully set up, with plants and trees everywhere. The architecture is well done, too. With an amazing little pool and restaurant area at the riverside. Breakfast was offered to us for free, you could decide between a sausage, eggs, etc and a banana and pancake set. Plus there was toast and coffee. The staff is very nice, even though little english is spoken, but they try to make everything nice for you. We found it easy to reach coming from the train station. We just walked the 1km, but can get a cheap ride as well. On the way back we took a taxi to the bus station for 100 baht. Our room was nice and comfortable. Everything is very clean and well taken care of. You have everything you need right outside the resort on the street. Restaurants, scooter rental, 7-Eleven and other supermarkets and stores. All in walking distance and if you want to go further you can rent a scooter or ride a bike or one of the orange/red shared taxis to get around. We really liked Kanchanaburi and we really liked Ploy resort. Thank you very much!
