Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe shared kitchen was quite dusty. Since we did not explicitly book for a kitchen it was totally fine for us though.
The hosts were super friendly and helpful, gave us some nice tipps for the area and reacted really quickly to messages. The pool is rather small but very nice, and the garden was pretty. The area was quiet. Overall we felt very comfortable and welcome! We would definitely come back!

ChinaNone. I recommend it on Chinese social media. I’m very satisfied with Rice Barn and Rooms.
I’m Yaffa and I stayed here for 2 nights during Chinese lunar new year holiday. Al and Nok are very kind and helpful. The house is very nice and close to nature. They built everything by themselves during the past 10 years!

Hong KongIt was perfectly located for getting to Pong horse park where we had a week of horse riding planned. It was well cared for and had a rustic charm, Alastair and Nok were so kind and we really felt welcomed, returning after a day riding really felt like coming home.

United KingdomWe had such an amazing stay! Lovely private room which was quiet, comfy and fab facilities - including robes, slippers and free toiletries. The use of the pool and sharing the property with the friendly owners and their adorable dog jessie and cats, was lovely. Only a 10 minute walk from the Grand Canyon, therefore, ideal if you’re visiting that or just fancy a relaxing retreat. Could also order food to the property via grab.

GermanyBeautiful resort, fantastic family room. The garden is so charming and relaxing. The resort is about half an hour drive from the city center. We were with two small kids and used Grab to get there (cheap and easy). There is a big kitchen under the family rooms where you can easily cook, it's very well equipped. All in all a lovely stay!

BelgiumNot a negative comment on the hotel, but you should know that it’s quite far from food options in the nighttime. We came here exactly for its remoteness, but if you unknowingly come here without your own vehicle, the 711 is your only option. This was a good thing for us though & we had a lovely dinner at Wild Thyme :) Thank you for a great stay!
We stayed here for one night during our bikepacking trip & it was the perfect place to rest after cycling all day. We were greeted by the lovely owners & the two ducks & hopped right in the pool. The place is super peaceful, clean & pretty. We had our own microwave & kitchen area & could see the sheep & goat from our room :)

United KingdomI only have praise for you both and what you have created at Rice Barn and Rooms. The love you have for Thailand, for Nature, for attention to detail, is so evident around, in what you have beautifully created. It was the perfect couple of days to detach from the outside world, to explore local areas and simply read a book. The room was beautifully designed and cleaned, the grounds were well taken care of, the communal kitchen was really handy and you were both friendly, humorous, and on board for any questions! I hope one day to return

ItalyWe liked very much the Natural setting of the place. the bungalow was great, well decorated and very comfortable and with had a garden. The bungalow had two level, a kitchen and open living room at ground floor and room at first floor. We also loved the bathroom and shower. A small pool and an open fireplace were an add up.

NetherlandsThe only thing I can think of is to have more sunbeds in the garden. :) But I'm sure this will come as the owners are working and busy every day with making the place even better than it already is!
This place is a piece of paradise! It was such a green and serene and relaxed area and the rooms were tidy, clean and with good airconditioning and mattrass. The pool is cool and chill to hang out in. The owners are there to help out with whatever you need, giving lots of suggestions on things to do in the area and checking in with you if you feel slightly under the weather. It was also easy to rent a scooter from them. It was our home away from home. Thank you and we will be back!

United KingdomIt’s on the outskirt of chiang mai (we purposely chose this area as was close to where we needed to go next) but if you want to be nearer to the centre, you will have to be happy to pay for a grab each time.
A lovely place - we only stopped here for one night but wished we could have stayed longer. Clean and tidy bedroom and bathroom. Gorgeous decorations inside the room and bathroom. Beautiful surroundings. Peaceful. A very cute dog and other farm animals - which I loved. The host are incredibly friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back.

PolandEverything looked worse than in the pictures when you looked at the details. In fact the rooms are quite used and some hidden areas like behind the toilet were rarely cleaned. For example the door of the shower was very hard to close because it was so used and rusty. We didn't like the musty smell in the room and especially in the closet. The kitchen was not very clean, when we came there were bugs coming out of the rubbish bin. Everything was a bit sticky or covered with dust. There was no washing machine but you could have your clothes washed and dried for 150 thb/3 kg. It's not easy to eat outside, there is only a poor bar nearby so we decided to cook for ourselves.
The area is very large and very green, the host has a beautiful, calm garden with animals. We could use a fully equipped kitchen. The bed and especially the pillows were very comfortable. There was a fan and AC and both were working fine, the room was nicely furnished, there was a table with a chair, bedside tables, tv and tv table, and a big closet. The water was warm and the hairdryer was available. Drinking water, coffee and tea were available. There was a nice relaxing area near the pool. The host was very nice. The area around is calm and quiet, it's a country side. There is a little shop nearby where we could buy ingredients for our meals.

GermanyWe stayed at the Rice Barn and Rooms for 9 nights. We really enjoyed it here. The atmosphere is marvelous. You feel like you're in a small jungle lodge, surrounded by birds, frogs and rippling water. Ali and Nok are very friendly and helpful hosts who are always keen to fulfil wishes and give tips. The complex is informal and spacious. Lots of greenery, a lovely little pool and ponds where people and animals can relax. There are also various seating and sunbathing areas in the garden where you can relax. Rice Barn and Rooms is less than 20 kilometers outside Chiang Mai. This shouldn't put anyone off, as you can easily get into the city by Bolt or Grab at any time for 170 to 230 baht. Ali and Nok also hire out motorbikes to explore the surrounding area or drive into the city by yourself. Thank you very much for these wonderful days!!!

NetherlandsThere is an option for on-demand made breakfast, we bought some bread ourselves on the market. To get some plates we had to do the dishes ourselves, which for that price felt a little strange. However, due to the property being ran by 2 people, this isn't a major downfall. The location is rather remote, you're really in the rural part of Thailand. This provided a really relaxing atmosphere but is something to keep in mind, taxis to the nearby town cost around 100 Bath (10 minute drive).
The concept, the setup, the rooms and the animals (dogs, cat, goat, sheep, chicken) were simply amazing. The owners are very friendly and most necessities are within walking distance. The design of the houses and the buildings were great and really provided a relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were quite big and our room even had a bath tub. Would definitely return again.
