This is by no means a criticism of Rocky’s! Views are gorgeous. We do like to swim in the sea and the area Rocky’s is situated on is more a shallow bay protected by a reef. The water is lovely at high tide but not really deep enough for swimming (waist high). It is perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. However with the above said it did not really bother us and a short taxi ride solved the issue. The pools at Rocky’s are lovely and the area is quite tranquil. #weloverockys

My only complaint would be, when trying to connect the TV to Airplay in the bedroom it couldn't find the correct TV. This would have been nice, but absolutely a non-issue as there's plenty to do, even if you did want to just chill out in the evening.

Rocky Resort exceeded all expectations. The staff were incredibly attentive, the resort itself was stunning. I have stayed in a lot of hotels in Thailand and this was by far my favourite. I have been eager to leave a review because if it helps one make a decision on where to stay, hopefully this review will sway them to the right decision! Our room was beautiful, the shower pressure was good, the bed was a dream, the AC wasn't disruptive or too cold, the gardens were immaculate and swimming pools were fab! There were enough sunlounges, and plenty of shaded/ unshaded options too. The food at the restaurant was great and the breakfast was superb. It overlooked the sea, which was tranquil and an added bonus of having a kayak/ paddleboard to use free of charge.

Despite the fact that all the staff is doing all their best and facilities are great, there are several concerns I’d like to mention here. The first is that Rocky’s is the very popular venue for wedding ceremonies and banquets. While our six days staying there were two occasions. They reserve areas for parties - small/big beaches, but in between of ceremony and banquet all guests are having fun at the same areas where you having a dinner or lunch, chilling at the pool, etc. So, if you’re kind of introvert person you likely be forced to feel like an unexpected guest at an event, or goofy bystander wearing relaxed clothes and flip flops surrounded by well dress coded strangers. The second, while checking in manager scanned BOTH sides of credit card without getting any consent from us or even explaining reasons. I find such behaviour unacceptable and insecure in our era of scam and fraud. At the end, very poor sound insulation and noisy aircon. If you are lucky enough to get loud neighbours and room next to a small artificial pond, you likely can enjoy a symphony of slashing doors, shouts, frogs, birds and/or other creatures at evening and dawn morning times, while aircon will blow and thunder all the night.

Pace and quiet resort, generally for pairs and families with kids. Extremely friendly staff members are working hard with smiles on their faces. Even when the restaurant is at its full capacity during breakfast hours all runs smoothly and serves quickly. Wifi bandwidth is amazing 🤩 up to 110Mbps. Rooms are very well equipped, cleaning stuff acting as furies. Parking lots were available every time we get back.

Nothing. A flawless stay.

We upgraded to the beachfront villa with plunge pool on arrival and I am so glad we did. It was absolutely stunning setting and the room itself was also beautiful. The amenities and extra touches in the room are what you would expect from a 5* hotel. Breakfast and all meals were truly delicious. Service was exceptional from beginning to end. It was my partners birthday and they had a couple of extra surprises for him which was lovely.

The only thing it’s important to know is that the rooms that are closer to the main road outside are a bit noisy and you can hear it. But this is the only bad thing I can think about in this resort!

First of all, the reception area is amazing! When we arrived we got a very nice welcome drink and a cold towel. The reception crew are professionals, kind and helpful. We ordered a room in front of the pool and got upgraded to the family villa with a private pool and two floors, it was incredible to have such a huge villa only for two people. Obviously we got escorted to the room and got an explanation about all the resort. The stay was excellent by any mean, the two pools, the two bars and the restaurant with excellent breakfast. the beach is perfect even if its a bit shallow and rocky. Even just walking in the resort and seeing the gardens was so fun. I really recommend to book this hotel for your vacation in koh samui!

Perhaps my only criticism would be that the resort is a few km's outside of Lamai. Walking down the beach is fine, except that you need to detour back to the main road for the last couple of hundred meters to get past the Grandfather and Grandmother rocks.

Rocky's Resort offers superb comfort and a truly wonderful get-away-from-it-all experience. Fabulous food (don't miss the Saturday night beach barbie), a great beach bar / restaurant with wonderful views out into the Gulf of Thailand, two pools, plus a spa and gym.

Location is too far from the main area, fisherman’s village, 40 min drive away, taxis expensive. The breakfast was disappointing, food quality not great. The gym was too small could only fit 2 people max inside.

The pool was amazing, the room is spacious and modern, air con good, private beach beautiful. Stand up paddle boards available for use for free at any time. Staff lovely and not too busy.

We loved everything. We would certainly return if we ever came back to Koh Samui. A massive thank you to all the staff at Rocky’s they’ve got it nailed on.

We booked this last minute due to extending our stay in Koh Samui as we had booked the wrong dates for Koh Tao and nothing was left on that island for the dates we wished to travel and I am incredibly glad we did. We absolutely loved Rocky’s resort. From the moment we arrived we felt looked after and at ease. The staff here are second to none and look after each guest so well. We were celebrating our honeymoon and this was the final stop of our month trip around Thailand and they really went the extra mile to make it special for us. The rooms are stunning, we initially were put into the sea view room with plunge pool at the beachfront which was absolutely incredible. The view each morning was stunning and the bed was absolutely huge and comfortable. They provide lots of complimentary things such as 6 bottles of water per day, flip flops, sun hats, nice robes etc. There is 24 hour room service and the food is good quality although not the best food we had during our stay in Thailand it was still delicious but more pricey than outside the resort (but you pay for where you are so we didn’t mind!). The breakfast was very good and worth including. The Spa offered fantastic massages. A real tranquil setting in the more built up busy Koh Samui. We left our 4 day stay and went to stay in nearby Chaweng but very soon returned to spend our final couple of days back at Rocky’s because we much preferred being there and felt more at home and relaxed. Would highly recommend booking here if you wish for a quiet relaxing setting. They put on regular themed evenings such as cocktail night, bbq on the beach with a fire show etc so there is likely something to do of an evening during your stay. However if young and looking to party I’d suggest the Chaweng area but that wasn’t our cup of tea as a couple.

Very good design as a planned out space. The rooms are like personal apartments and the staff maintain a very high standard of service who are happy to be there and are very helpful for anything that you may need. The massage here is unreal as well. Lots of activities to do, great private beach and beautiful views to be enjoyed with fresh made-to-order cocktails!

The beach area was small but private, a short walk round the corner and 400m of empty beach. We used the hotel Kayak to explore the coast which was fun. Good social events, delicious beach BBQ and Cocktail night.

Our honeymoon at Rocky’s Boutique Resort in Koh Samui was pure magic! 🌴💑 We were thrilled with a complimentary upgrade to a sea-view room – waking up to the sound of waves was simply enchanting, especially with the stunning sunset views. The culinary delights and cocktails were a treat, and the option to paddleboard and kayak for free added to the joy. The beach, though small, had a charming allure. The staff, always smiling and incredibly helpful, made our stay memorable. Special shoutout to the spa for the phenomenal massage – one of the best we've ever had!
