Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

OmanDifficult to fault the place; staff were very pleasant and the room was quiet and very comfortable. Everything we could have asked for.
Samed garden Resort is in lovely green grounds, plenty of space and nice and quiet. Very easy to get to (as are most resorts on Koh Samed) with some lovely beachside restaurants and bars nearby.

ThailandEverything was great, but you need to rent a motorbike to be able to ride into town for any type of nightlife. There are a few restaurants in the area, but the area is very quiet at night.
Great price,.comfortable bed, very clean. The bungalows appear to be very new. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

United StatesI have no dislikes. I was very satisfied
Everything was so well kept on the premises. Staff were great, and so was the owner who spoke good English. We had a bungalow, and it was so spacious and exceptionally clean. This was my 3rd visit to koh samet, and I will definitely come back to this place.

BelgiumEverything! It was perfect!
Everything was perfect! The place is amazing, beautiful, and quiet! Super close to the beach and restaurants! The rooms were super clean and nice, and the lady at the reception was the nicest lady we’ve ever met! We even booked an extra night because we did not want to leave this beautiful place! 10/10 would recommend, this is the best place to stay in Koh Samed!

United KingdomNearby beach not great, Much of Koh Samed seems to see tourists as cash cows. Make sure you go to Nuanthip Pier on the mainland for boat tickets. We got overcharged/ripped off at one next to it. Bad start.
Welcoming people, clean room, nice outside balcony area.

Whilst not on the busiest or best beach on the island, it was quiet, close to the beach and good food options close by. Very helpful staff. Loved the garden and the fact that there were bins and water tubs to wash the sand off after a day on the beach.

United KingdomN/A Stay here unless you like busy places
In our view the best place to stay on the island if you like peace and quiet but within walking distance of a couple of restaurants and bars. The nearby (200m) beach is currently empty of sun loungers etc, but there is a new resort being developed there - Ao Noi Na beach so maybe not for too much longer Manager was great and helped us book scooter and ferry transfers No request was too much Air-con was super good Nice big space with good separate toilet and shower room Quiet fridge which made ice well

United KingdomThe only downside was it was 200 baht each way in baht bus to main town and ferry, everything else was great
Great small resort, restaurants and beautiful private beach 2 minutes walk, but the owner of the resort and her son and staff were fantastic, I would 100% stay here again Thank you mama for wonderful time

United KingdomAvoid Sai Kaew beach at all costs. It's a beautiful beach but spoilt by hordes of Chinese day trippers who seem incapable of speaking to each other below 80 decibels. Also avoid the green taxi/buses if possible. Some of the drivers are less than helpful and hiring a moped is preferable.
Perfect location for a peaceful holiday, a few minutes away from the main pier. All the beaches on the island are in easy reach by moped. The owner was so helpful and kind and the rooms were spotless.

New ZealandNot an issue for us- but the stairs are quite steep to get to the 2nd story rooms. I would request a ground floor room if you have mobility issues. But was OK for us! :D
My husband and I stayed 3 nights at Samed Garden Resort and would highly reccomend staying here! We stayed in a 2nd story room, the room was much bigger than we expected with a beautiful view of the garden that felt like we were in a tree house. The room was emaculately clean. Some reviews say that the accomodation is "far away" from the rest of the town.. but we hired a scooter for the time we were here (we hired one for 280 baht a day and was a great way to see the rest of the island too) and it was only a 6 minute scooter ride to the main strip - I would not call this far away :) The owner is the loveliest person you could meet who went above and beyond to help us with any requests or questions we had. Thankyou for the lovely stay!
