Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe area wasn’t super peaceful. The bar next door had a party that kept me up until 2am one night and there’s road noise all day long. And the beach is not the best, there are a ton of huge rocks that make it nearly unswimmable during low tide, and dangerous during high tide. I tripped and fell on one and watched a bunch of other people do the same.
My time at Sea Culture was very nice. The bungalows are very simple but were clean and had everything I needed for my stay. And being only a couple steps from the beach, it doesn’t get much better than that for this price. The staff was definitely a highlight, they were so so kind and accommodating.

United StatesMy room had a musty smell when I got there and had to be aired out. Air freshener helped. The room was also close to the small road so a little noisy at times.
The hostess Da is one of the nicest persons I've met. She really makes your stay enjoyable. She had a mosquito net put up in the room for me, brought an electric kettle, mosquito coils and a can of air freshener. She's really nice. I liked the refrigerator in the room, aircon, and closeness to the beach, restaurant they have is good and all the staff were friendly.

United KingdomPlumbing and power are basic. The fan was very welcome but it still got very warm overnight. The bed was not comfortable. The mosquito net was useful, but I couldn't stretch out my legs without disturbing the net. From the other side, the fan blows open the mossie net if you set it too high (3). You can get used to the tropical critters you share the accommodation with, but bring a plug-in insect repellant
Rustic charm, very cheap, on the beach, lovely family and staff running it. Bao, Da and everyone else were friendly and helpful. Drinks were always ice cold. Apart from hot coffee which was very good quality. Sunset views are magnificent, especially with a cold beer.

JapanThe family owners are really friendly and the seafood is incredible - the owner is a fisherman and catches shrimp etc everyday. I was in a very basic room but it still had a decent enough hot shower and western toilet.

United KingdomThe bathroom was perhaps a little too rustic, however it had a western toilet and a working shower (a bit leaky) and a functioning basin, so was adequate.
The location was lovely and I was very fortunate that my hut was the closest to the beach. The owner and staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food was excellent.

Switzerlandthe backyard is a bit messy and the bungalows are a bit old.
A beachfront resort that is owned by a very lovely local Thai family and not by some rich investor like most other beachfront resorts on Ko Lanta. Very nice vibe at the beach restaurant and bar. Good location.

GermanyThe entire facility looks very unfinished. the courtyard is more or less a construction site, according to regular guests, nothing has changed much over the years. This would not take too much effort to develop and it seriously impedes on the quality of the stay. No trash can in the room and even though the cans were piling up in front of the room, it was only cleaned once during my stay.
The most wonderful staff you can imagine. They are friendly and respectful and will arrange, whatever comes to your mind. The beach bar is a phantastic place to relax or do some work. highly recommend, even if you’re staying in places close by.

United KingdomThere wasn’t a lock on the door, only a padlock to lock from the outside and a piece of string to tie and lock on the inside.
The host Da couldn’t do enough for us and the barman Mac kept the drinks flowing! It was a quiet cosy stay in the beach hut with a private bathroom. The property had its own beach bar and restaurant serving a huge menu of food and drinks.

NetherlandsThe property was under construction a bit, as is the rest of Lanta, they were hit hard by covid. Does not mean the place is less nice though, because the Koh Lanta laidback vibe and staff make up for that.
The hostess is so extremely kind!! Very helpful too They have an excellent restaurant :) Personally I love going back to basic whereas the huts were perfect for me

CanadaThe bed could have been comfier, the blanket was more like a towel, and for my partner and I it was very hot with no AC (which we knew before hand). We ended up leaving the property early since we could not sleep in the heat but the owner did not give a refund for the other two nights so maybe pay at the time not ahead of time!
the bungalows were cute and well maintained! The location is in the middle of old town and the pier so scootering around is very easy! the staff were really nice and laid back, and the bar next door was awesome!

FranceThe bungalow would be better with mostico net on the windows and curtain for more intimity. The garden could be very beautiful with more care to hide the work in progress around. With few things this place could be perfect for those who like to be close to nature and near a relax beach.
This guesthouse give directly on the beach, and the beach is really beautifull. The owner are very nice. The food is good. The bungalow are rustic but nice.
