As expected and warned, it was a bit noisy. Again, as expected due to the nature of phi phi, the sewage smell wasn’t pleasant. The rooms could also do with better lighting and better toiletries.

Staff were amazing, really great reception from Mel and couldn’t do enough for you. Property was really unique and on the front of phi phi beach.

Great location and overall vibe. Probably not for everyone. It is old and dated and a bit dark. But it was full of charm that I enjoyed. Felt like staying in a tree house. The grounds were nice, comfortable and relaxing and the staff couldn't have been nicer.

The smell was overwhelming most of the time. The staff were so used to it they didn’t seem to think there was a problem, I think it was just that end of the island unfortunately and I don’t think there was much they could do about it, we had to keep the drains covered in the bathroom to reduce the smell as much as possible

The staff were lovely and the vibe of the main area was perfect, sunsets are probably the best in Phi Phi.

It was much noisier at night than we expected. Any sound outside sounded like it was nearly in your room, or right outside the door since there was no insulation to buffer the sound. Earplugs are a must for sleeping. The stairs to the rooms are quite steep, so make sure you have good knees. We managed fine, but if you have mobility issues, this is NOT the place for you. When the tide is out, the smell is not great, and you really can't swim in the sea near the hotel, so the lack of a pool was a bit of a bummer, but not a huge issue, as we could simply go to the beach elsewhere.

It was a funky treehouse, so very unique. The room was as described. The view during the day when the tide is in is lovely. The food was also fair at the restaurant. The staff were nice. It is a rustic location, and they don't pretend otherwise, so just know that going in, and read the reviews and the descriptions so you aren't surprised.

The noise from the beach was no issue. The only issue which is utterly out of the hotels control was a bonkers and erratic tattooist rightoutside our window. He loved anglegrinding until early hours of the morning, swinging knives around generally making a lot of noise all night.

The staff were great and the rooms were great. Before our visit the correspondence with the owner was great and they were very honest about possible noise and cats... kittens were adorable.

The location was great at the end of the beach just before the incline for the view points It looks a little bit work in progress this is normal for phi phi But they make you feel very welcome and it is very chilled also the prices are very good

The bar area closed very early

It’s close to the water and close to the town as well! It has a perfect sunset view which provides people with a perfect golden glow in the early evenings. Plus a lovely pool table and lots of board games

I liked the quirky style of the building and the seating area next to the sea, although the wonky floors etc might not be for everyone. Staff were really friendly.

It’s basically a tree house so floors are a little uneven and there’s gaps in the walls so you can hear everything outside and people in the other rooms.

I loved how friendly the staff were, and how clean the room was, very good value for money as it has a fridge, freezer, air con, kettle, towels etc. very well maintained. The view is amazing! Close to the viewpoint walk and far enough away from the middle of the night life to be a bit quieter.

Loved absolutely everything.

Loved everything about the Sunflower Boathouse. Our room was as it is in the pictures on site. The staff on-site are wonderful especially Fai, he took care of us, arranged our day time activities and more. A must try is the food here, the noodles, rice and fish cakes were our favourites and the Tom Yum soup was just heavenly (we had it at every meal). The room has all basic amenities which included a fridge and TV (which we never used as the hammocks and bean bags overlooking the sea is just the thing you want to view). Look around the restaurant area and you will see half longtail boats, the furniture in there has a history which you must learn about. Fai was kind enough to tell us the story and it's a story you should know. The sunset is just gorgeous and should not be missed. We had absolutely zero complaints and the stay was well worth it. Our next trip to Phi Phi, we will be definitely staying at the Sunflower Boathouse. Bear in mind this is not a fancy hotel but rather a place where you feel alive, it is an experience of love, life and laughter. Mel was very responsive to any queries we had before and during our stay. She is such a wonderful host. Thank you Mel.

The biggest let down was the unfortunate smell coming from the sweage plant next door. The smell was over whelming at times and affected our sleep. The running water in the shower and taps didn't seem clean and had a poor smell to it also. The bed sheets were stained and overall cleanliness was poor. There is a lot of noise coming from nearby bars which is to be expected and can't be helped.

The staff were excellent and very helpful. They offered free bottled water with your stay and gave discounts on the drinks in the bar. They met us at the pier and escorted us and our bags to the hotel which was very helpful. Air con was excellent and room was kept cool. Location was good as right on the beach.

This one night may be the highlight of our three weeks in Thailand. The place was SO cool and the staff were amazing! The food was great, the drinks were great. Comfortable for our family of 6 and the kids loved the room. Would highly recommend!!

The worst is the smell from the sewage next to the bedroom. We couldn’t sleep cos of the stink. Then the aircon was only one temperature so or you freeze sleeping with it on or you die in heat and smell. The room was good size but just dark and smelly.

Great beachfront location and much more intimate feel than the soul-less tourist tower blocks elsewhere along the beach. Good chill out bar area with tree cover, beanbags, hammocks, board games and a pool table. Very kind and friendly staff.

I do not recommend!The towels were torn, the shower water smelled of mud, after the shower you smelled terrible.The bed was broken, the TV was missing from the room, no wifi. A mini terrace that you shared with 2 other rooms.
