Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWe absolutely loved staying here. The staff were amazing, the location perfect for sightseeing, the bike hire was very cheap, there was free hot and cold water, the included breakfast was incredible! Our three children had the loft and it was just lovely. Very quirky and quaint. The standard double room we had was very nice. The aircon worked well in both rooms. Fridges in both rooms. Food was easily accessible in any direction from the guesthouse. It was very close to the night market for dinner.

United StatesThis is such a hidden gem! It is a cute, small hotel that felt like a little oasis. The staff were so kind and helpful! The location was perfect for exploring the ruins. We also booked a river tour right from the guesthouse that was a perfect evening activity and a chance to see some beautiful temples. Highly recommend!

United StatesEverything. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and very clean. Wifi worked well. The hostel is a bit back from the road so it is quiet, and there are some really nicely designed seating areas that look and feel cozy. Location is good for both getting around town and getting to the ruins.

CanadaProvides basics, but would have liked a safe and kettle to make tea and coffee.
It is well situated for exploring the ruins and night market. The bike rental was convenient. Staff members and posted information were very helpful. Close to cafes and restaurants. Enjoyed the boat tour(but wish it had come with a guide).

United KingdomThe owners! Beautiful couple and informative of the area. The staff are so friendly and helpful too. If ever in Ayutthaya in the future, this is our go to place for sure! ❤️ We planned a 3 night stay and extended to 4 as we just loved the relaxed vibe here. And after almost a month on the go travelling up Thailand, this was perfect for us - especially after Bangkok. Designed with a playful, quirky layout made such an artistic and creative way to build a house - almost like a huge tree house but for grown ups. A great shared space area too which feels calm and relaxing. We stayed in a twin room and loved the treehouse feel to it all. I could actually live in this house! (Just to note, if you’re a bit of a party person, this is not the place for you. It’s a quiet retreat with a no noise after 10 which we loved!) Great position for all the best sights and all the information you could need on the area. And onward travels too. Even a board with places to eat from other guest. We chose to eat at the night market at a little seafood stall near the far end of market. A chap with a red hat on cooks the most amazing red snapper served over hot coals, muscles, clams and such. Ate here twice. Hope you find him! He has 3/4 hot pans/pots on the go. It’s busy with locals so wait in line for a seat if none.

CanadaI loved my stay at Tamarind Guest House with my son. It was right across the street from two of the main ruins in Ayutthaya, plus the night market. The guest house itself is really cool, with lots of fun details, like old shutters used for dividing walls, and blue and white ceramic pieces everywhere. A great value, super nice hosts, and a top location. I highly recommend.

MalaysiaThe only option available when we booked was a family room. Whilst it was a large room, it was not really that suitable for us "older people" as there are steps to climb for one room and a small ladder to climb to the second. If you had children (or younger!) it would be rather enjoyable though. The beds are also mattresses on the floor (i.e. legless beds!) so again for us it was less comfortable having to get up from that. However, the mattresses were very comfortable. In the living room, it is again floor seating.
1. Exceptional hosts The hosts of Tamarind were truly fantastic. Extremely friendly, great hospitality and you can really sense how much they care for the well-being of their guests. They gave us so much assistance in how to move around Ayutthaya and beyond (there were bus and train schedules nicely displayed on the wall), what places should be at the top of our list, (recommended the boat tour which was very nice!) and food recommendations (also prominently displayed!). They were there to provide "first aid" in the form of congee for my travelling companion who had a bout of indigestion and some OTC medicines too. Even though our lodging did not include food, we were still provided with good coffee, toast and cakes! Koy is a wonderful baker - if you are lucky, you may get to try her banana and coconut cake! Yumz! 2. Great location Just across the road from Wat Mahathat so we were the first persons into this site and were able to spend time there before the crowds came in. Also just a very short walk to the night market which is ultra-convenient. 3. Clean rooms with good functioning air-conditioning - lovely to come back to after time out in the hot weather in Ayutthaya.

Right across the Rd from ruins, easy walk to lots of food options and night markets. Room was so lovely and cool and private bathroom was also nice! There’s a few spots to relax around the guesthouse and coffee, tea etc all day. The breakfast was great! I tried two local Thai dishes and both were super yummy. The staff are kind and friendly, the property has noise curfews in place but there were no issues. I slept really well.

United KingdomWe struggled with the steep ladder up to the sleeping platform with the single bed. The ladder is vertical and if you have any kind of mobility problems or pain in your arms very hard to get up and down. The staff very kindly moved the single mattress down into the lounge space for us. Also, the sofa they give you to sit on is at floor level which didn't suit us either as it was uncomfortable for your back. However, it was perfect to put on top of the single mattress which made it much more comfortable. The huge thank you to the staff for being so amenable to us old crocks! You can also rent bikes from the hotel but they are rather dilapidated and could do with some renovation.
This is lovely little hotel in a perfect location for exploring the ruins of Ayutthaya, with two of the main sites being located just across the road. The staff are very friendly and helpful and willing to help with any problems and to give advice restaurants and which parts of the ruins to visit. Breakfast is basic, just toast, fruit, boiled eggs and cake, but is perfectly adequate. We had the family room which was spacious and had one double bed and one single bed, both of which were very comfortable. The two restaurant suggestions we were given were excellent, one of which is included on the map they give you. The hotel is also very close to the night market which is fun to explore.
