Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCouldn't work out how to turn on the massive projector in our room or how to turn out the bathroom light which kept us up all night.
Beautiful location, although very secluded. Rooms and hotel generally were very well decorated and very clean. Breakfast included and was quite nice, one of the staff gave us a lift to nong pla duk junction train station in the morning which was nice (but bit expensive, 500bht for less than 20min journey).

SingaporeRoom door is difficult to close. It's near to the river but hardly any river view from the room. Only a coffee maker, no electric kettle. Pool only opens from 10am, and the chlorine smell is strong. Room only has a king bed, think is not correct to advertise as two single beds as an option.
Entire room is clean, nicely decorated, brightly lit, but just enough space to move around. Good Wi-Fi, enough electrical outlet. Separate toilet and shower area. Beautiful resort compound, lots of area for photo taking, many antiques to see, lots of seating areas to chill out, especially by the river. Resort has its own restaurant, and a cafe next door. Friendly and polite staff. Breakfast is very simple, just egg, sausage, bread, cereal, fruits and salad, plus the rice with soup which is good. Not too far away from its town center, about 15mins' drive.

United KingdomWe didn't have a wardrobe - seems most visitors are Thai for a couple of nights - but quickly given a clothes rail. We had room with balcony, looking over garden but go for another if you prefer size. All are private, we never locked our door, sometimes didn't close it. Some meals could have been better. If not adventurous, stir-fries are good.
The location is, literally, out of this world, riverside, in jungle, totally non-tourist. Fantastic outside, very quirky with lots of paths and bends to hidden areas. Owners, Jill, Thai, not given name, and husband, Richie, English but travelled, are so nice, spent very enjoyable couple of hours in bar with them - and their character dogs - when we arrived. We waiked to local shops one day and truly Thailand, traditional houses, friendly people - no speak English - lots of motorbikes (small) and dogs!

ThailandI stayed in the room with 3 beds with my parents. They are in their 70s and get cold more easily than I do. They took the big bed and i took one of the smaller ones but I couldn't get the air con to blow at me instead of my parents' bed. I was afraid they would get cold so I had to keep the temperature up and ended up not sleeping very well because it's too warm. To get there, you need to take a very small road, all paved but very small, for 1 km. Luckily it was a weekday and we didn't come across any other passerby, otherwise I am not sure how two cars would get past each other. The reason we chose this place was because it was near Na Satta, the light festival. I asked for the direction from the host before we got out but she forgot to tell us about the promotion which is an 80 bath discount (from 300 baht) of each entrance ticket to the festival so we ended up buying them in full price. We could have saved 240 baht. What a shame :(
The decoration and attention to detail. The restaurant is by the river which I'm specially fond of. The breakfast was good too.

The friendliness of the staff, and the riverside seating area where you can watch the beautiful sunsets in the evenings. The Thai style rooms provide an authentic experience.

South AfricaI booked for a week, so al minimum I would have expected a room with a wardrobe it was very difficult to work out of my suitcase. The unit I stayed in behind reception did not have any windows you could open for fresh air.
They only serve Thai breakfast, but there was toast and jam.
