Our 3 day stay was too short!

What can I say? This is the Boathouse, probably the best hotel on Kata Beach and our favourite place to stay in Phuket. The freshly prepared breakfasts and dinners overlooking the beach, great facilities, helpful staff, pool set up, sunset views and beach location all add to the charm and pleasure of staying here. And let's not forget the fabulous food and beverages with great dining area. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with large comfortable beds and a decent TV selection for rainy days.

We enjoyed our stay at Boathouse Phuket. The location is perfect, the food was delicious, the rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. We'll be back.

Beautiful setting - great service - head chef Jonathan was amazing and helped me as I was unwell from another island . He personally visited us and cooked anything I fancied. Absolutely amazing - just what I needed after being unwell. Clean and friendly staff. Mai was just unbelievable and so so kind. Would love to re visit and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a great service, good rooms beautiful view and wonderful food.

There were really no negatives here! I guess one could say that a negative was that there was no indoor dining room/ restaurant that was air conditioned, if you wanted to eat indoors. Nights in early March were still exceptionally warm, so occasionally it was a bit hot eating dinner outside even at 8 pm, but you could always ask to sit under one of the patio ceiling fans if you found right outside along the beach too warm ( which we did some nights). There was a bit of construction noise right at the end of the beach, presumably for a new resort going up, but this was only audible by the pool and beacg during weekdays till 5 pm. Didn't really bother us at all, but if any noise bothers you this may be a consideration. The only other thing to keep in mind is that this is about 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic from the airport. But ultimately that's just how long it takes to get to the nice kata Beach area.

We stayed here for 4 nights and we found it exceptional! The staff are super friendly and helpful beyond our expectations!! They booked us cars for activities whenever we needed, bring you ice water at the pools without ever being asked, and offer great and FAST service any time of day for room service or in the restaurant. Our room was nice and also quite large, air conditioning worked amazingly, and it was very very clean in the rooms. The outdoor restaurant was phenomenal, prices were reasonable, and the pool was very pleasant with towel service and ample seats for the number of guests in this boutique hotel. Great little gym, and pool bar area. Resort was basically at one end of Kata Beach which is just a stunning spot! The water is very warm, beach is not too busy, and it has pristine waters and white sand.

One kid peed in the pool. The father let him do that. I don't like uncouth tourists! But the staff was great and helped tell them to stop this behaviour.

The breakfast was excellent! Loved the view as well. The service at the front desk was very helpful and all the staff are friendly. The location is great, I like the beach side location of the pool.

We changed our room after 2 days because our view was blocked by a building. The bedroom was a bit small and the bathroom door design was not as private as it could be. Kata town itself is uninteresting.

The Boathouse is wonderfully located right on Kata Beach and close to some very good local restaurants.The terrace faces the beach and the bay. The staff were charming and cheerful and very helpful. Breakfast was great with a choice of local or western options.

The only small downside in my opinion is that the hotel restaurant seemed a bit overpriced. However, there are several alternatives close by, for either lunch at the beach or dinner in town.

The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive and kind. We really felt at home. The hotel is right on the beach and within walking distance from several restaurants and shops. The room was large and comfortable. The common areas were pleasant and well maintained.

You can't change the size of the rooms - yea they seem a tad small, but there isn't much room there so it is what it is.

Food was good, service - excellent, just the overall location and set up was terrific. That is the hotel, then the pool, restaurant and lounge areas, then the beautiful Kata Beach and behind you was mini downtown with pretty much everything else you'd want right there :)

Food and drink prices were really spendy. Our AC went out and we had to transfer rooms. The new room was smaller, but came with pool access and a balcony that we didn't want, need, or use. It was offered as an upgrade due to the new room being priced more/night but the room and bathroom were significantly smaller and we really loved our original room. The square footage for the room was likely inclusive of the balcony.

Loved the infinity pool and beach access. Not having to fight for sun chairs and umbrellas was really really nice while still having access to the beach

Cons: • The sea outside resort has a lot of rubbish.  The hotel should really put out nets to catch rubbish to clean up water. The rubbish also litters the beach which isn't nice either. • The top edge of the pool has a rim of green algae growing on it. It appears they rarely clean pool which is pretty gross. It certainly put me off using it and instead I swam amongst the rubbish in the sea. • The pool is far too small and is almost tokenistic. • Hotel is 40 yrs old and it shows. Lots of rust, tiles missing, function areas completely dilapidated and not used. It's in need of major renovations. For the amount they charge I'd have thought they could do a full refurbishment. • Pool Boys vary greatly with some being very attentive while others ignoring patrons all together. Not a great way to drum up business! • Gym is VERY basic and most equipment is rusted and in dire need of replacement. Again, this needs a full overhaul and to move to a better location with a view rather than being in a half sunken bunker. • No water sports provided with hotel which is disappointing. Hiring of equipment must be undertaken through other providers. • Nice bath provided in room but no bubble bath liquid.

Pros: • Location on direct beach front can't be beaten. • Staff lovely. Special mention to F&B manager, "Team", and the morning shift waiter, "X". All staff very helpful, considerate and go out of their way to know your names. • Breakfast options limited but nicely served, fresh food and well portioned except for the pancakes which are far too small. • We stayed in room 301A which is one of the best rooms and is nicely decorated (albeit a quite dated) but certainly not worth the price we paid. At least the bathroom felt relatively new. • Beautiful view to one of the best beaches in Phuket. • Great location near food and knick-knack markets. Everything is within walking distance. • Great sunsets from hotel. • Hotel has 39 rooms making it a little smaller than some other places which minimised the number of Russians staying there which was a positive.

The hotel is on the south side of Kata Beach - a good location on a beautiful beach with beautiful sunsets. We enjoyed the pool right on the beach and spent great evenings there. What stands out in this hotel is the restaurant and staff. The restaurant is excellent, both for breakfast and dinner - truly top notch, seating next to the beach. The staff are friendly and accommodating and try their best for guests to have a good experience. It's a small hotel so they know guests personally. We recommend this hotel, especially for couples.
