Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandBig roach in the room, but that’s Thailand for you! Not a social hostel.
Very lovely people, easy check in, very comfortable futon mattress, close to Chinatown and grand palace and Khaosan

FranceWe did not have toilet paper or the room cleaned at least once. The shower was very very uncomfortable because after showering it because a pool, the whole shower is flooded and it takes 1 night for the water to go away. Very thin walls and noisy place, we can hear everything whenever someone showers in the hotel or when someone speaks loud. We were woken up 4 days in a row because of the lady owner of the hotel I think (elderly woman) who was screaming and banging on someone’s door at 6am (because they did not pay probably) but this is not how you are supposed to handle your clients. The owners were drinking beers when we asked them to help with our flooded shower. The main problem with this hotel is the noise not coming from the street since it’s in an alley but from the attitude of the people sleeping there. Woken up at 5am by Chinese people screaming at their children right in front of our door…
The location very close to everything and felt safe thanks to cameras and a card to enter.

IndonesiaNothing in particular. Just keep in mind that the hotel will lock its front gate in the night and give you key for the side gate. Also there’s no hair dryer and fridge in the room.
The location is near the Wat2 places and Grand Palace. And the owner is very friendly and helpful. Thank you

PortugalMy room was gloomy. I had a window but with another building maybe 5 feet away, I had no natural light. And the ceiling light was 4 low wattage bulbs, that all together were not very bright. I could see, but not well, and was unable to read a book in the light. The hallways sometimes smell like cigars (although my room was non smoking and no odor)
Excellent location, walking distance to many major tourist sites and to a metro station. It might be impossible to find another hotel at this value price point in an equivalent Bangkok location. Bed was Comfy. Staff was nice.

VietnamThe old lady staff (or maybe host) is very unfriendly. She requests me to check out before 11:30, even though the hostel was very empty at that time. And I asked if I could leave my backpack after checking out to have lunch? She said it was ok until 3pm . If left after 3pm, she will charge 100bth more for backpack keeping. Never come back again.
Good location.

SlovakiaThe bed was small and hard, sheets had weird stains on them, cleanliness was questionable. The bathroom was small and without a separate shower - so when you shower everything is wet and the bathroom is wet all the time. It´s doable but not comfortable. There wasn´t toilet paper or soap. The old lady was not very nice and didn´t speak english.
The location is perfect - you can walk to Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Chinatown... Price for this location and room is very good, so if you are on a budget or staying in Bangkok for 3-4 days and only slepp in the room then it´s perfect for you. The guy at the reception was friendly and spoke english. They watch our bags after checkout.
