How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Not a complaint but a breakfast option would be awesome.
The room was really spacious and cleaned to a high standard daily with fresh sheets and towels. We loved using the free bikes to get to Old Town and used the pool a couple of times too.

Our safe malfunctioned and wasn't opening after closing; we had to call the staff mutliple times to allow access to our valuables as we didn't want to carry things around.
The hotel was in a nice and quiet area, away from the busier roads. The pool is tranquile and invites for swimming some laps. We made grate use of the free bicycles to get around old town.

Only negative is the lack of sunbeds by the pool
Lovely hotel. Very clean, friendly staff. Was a good base for exploring Phuket Town. Might be a little far out for some especially as the don't serve breakfast.

Great hotel with comfortable beds, good air conditioning and each room has a nice balcony area. The pool is lovely. Lots of plants which attracted cool birds. Location isn’t super near the main part of old town but easily walkable and there are good food options near by. We really enjoyed our stay here.

It didn’t bother us, but there is a school behind the hotel that plays the Thai national anthem at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. every week day.
The Malika is a 30 room hotel with large comfortable rooms, a huge swimming pool that gets sun most of the day and lovely, helpful staff. The location is nice and quiet, in a residential neighbourhood, away from Old Town, which is only a 20 minute walk or short taxi ride away. There are a number of small local restaurants nearby and a grocery store and night market all within a 15 minute walk. The staff are extremely helpful and very kind. We had a ground floor room with easy access to the pool.

Not having an elevator. We were allocated 3rd floor and had to get assistance of reception to carry luggage, requested 2 rooms together but was not offered.
Reception was helpful in getting our tours and transport sorted. Room was clean and tea coffee available at the reception.

Before arriving I had been told that we could have booked tours once arriving (even though I didn't mind booking before our arrival). However, once we arrived, the receptionist told us that the tour we wanted to do was fully booked.
Our room was huge and very nice. We also loved the swimming pool.

If you travel with young children, it is a bit of a walk to old Phuket town. There are only few restaurants around (not the hotels fault, though), but something to keep in mind as there was no breakfast.
Friendly and helpful staff, clean and large room, excellent pool. Really quiet place, perfect to relax.

Located down an alleyway from the street which creates a quiet vibe at the Malika. The rooms are spacious and beds are extremely comfortable. We had a pool access room which was an added bonus to wake and have a swim. Who needs to be close to the beach when you have a pool like to this in such a quiet and relaxing area. Staff are friendly and the rooms are cleaned very well each day. A thank you to the cleaning staff. Would definitely stay here again if I returned to Phuket Town.

Such a great vibe! Its a calm hotel very close to Old Town. Great pool. The amazing staff was always helpful and made us feel welcome. Rooms were new and clean.

We liked the clean place, the relaxing swimming pool and the quiet surrounding! Especially the kids enjoyed the pool! We experienced a very friendly hotel-staff!! We forgot some clothing on the balcony and the personnel sent it via mail to our following accommodation at Koh Lanta! Thanks a lot for the great service!!!! We would definitely come back, for sure…

The staff who cleaned the room changed our towels and renewed the water in our fridge every day. The female employees at the reception are wonderful and very helpful. Its location is within walking distance of the old town but at the same time far from the city crowds. We were satisfied.
