Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaVery very loud at night. The two bedroom apartments are close to a noisy road, luckily there were tvs with good internet so we could play sleep noise on YouTube for the kids through the night and that drowned out some of the traffic sound. The pillows were huge and firm so we used our travel pillows to sleep on. No transfers to Kamala beach, staff were able to offer us one trip one way because I showed them where is says free transfers on the hotel description and they are going to take this off.
Lovely big spacious apartment. Big king sized beds and spotlessly clean. Well air conditioned and 3 tvs.

NorwayThe marketing on the website is boarderline a scam. There is no restaurant, no gym, no beach transfer option (and the location is not the best - 10 min walk from the beach and you have to cross an exteme-traffic road). Did not see any yoga either, but classes could have been while we were away. The pool is ok, but many tiles are coming off - seems like poor work.
The bungalow was great! Plenty of space, modern and clean.

United KingdomHotel is next to a busy road you have to cross to get to the beach but it’s so quiet in the lovely gardens you don’t notice the road.
Loved this hotel! Very quaint and quite old fashioned and must have been very splendid in its hay day. Now some of it is a bit run down but somehow that adds to its charm. Rooms have been refurbished to a high standard and are so spacious. We had a double suite complete with kitchen and dining table sofa and separate bedroom. Staff are very helpful and would definitely use again.

RussiaWe were awakened several times by pretty big animals crawling on the walls outside and being very noisy and scary.
The villa is very cozy and spacious, located in a very quite area, and not so far from the sea.

United KingdomSome of the resort has aged and looked tired but staff were addressing this while we were there.
Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was provided daily. It was very quiet at the resort, had the pool to ourselves most days. Great location, a 15 min walk or five min taxi to beach. Great base to explore from. Staff provided daily bottled water to the rooms and towels as and when needed for the beach.

United KingdomThe breakfast selection was very basic and certainly not worth the price we paid. The food was precooked and just heated up. The coffee was instant coffee from a sachet and the urn did not boil the water sufficiently to make a proper cup of tea. Whilst the staff were very polite and helpful, they would benefit from training. We felt that they did not have support from the Management and were left to their own devices. The facilities in our room were pretty basic, but just sufficient for our needs. The hotel clearly needs a lot of work - eg the paint was peeling off the doors, the paint on our furniture had been touched up and not done to a very good standard and the overall impression was poor. We were woken at 5am every morning by the Mosque call to prayer which we understood and accepted, but it is very unfortunate that this then set off the two cockerels in the property next door who crowed loudly, non stop for several hours afterwards.
Our room was cleaned daily and the linen changed regularly. We had a nice view over the garden and swimming pools. The deep swimming pool was clean and the water was warm and it was a pleasure to use. The staff were polite and helpful. At the time of our visit, the hotel had very few guests and the staff had little to do, but always greeted us with a smile.

New ZealandNo laundry service, there was loud speaker prayers very close at random and very early hours - every morning woken up at 5am to them and every night multiple times. No beach shuttle.
Small resort, very close to pool - was on door step. Scooter rental was next door and 7 eleven was a 1 minute walk.

AustraliaGardening needed a little more attention. There were gaps in window shutters so we were worried about mosquitoes but we actually didn’t see many at all. The location is a 15 min walk to the beach across a busy highway and at night it’s quite dark walking back to the hotel from where all the restaurants are located. Breakfast wasn’t included and there was no dinner option on site.
Beautiful spacious villa in classic white and plantation shutters. Lots of hot water with good pressure. Bed was firm but comfortable- best bed we’ve had in Thailand. Pool was clean and property was maintained well. Bathroom had bath and shower. Lovely staff.

GermanyAs a solo traveller, I didn‘t expect the hotel to be so outside and relatively far from the beach area: I took a Tuk tuk everyday to take me back and forth to the beach. Tuk Turks in high season are expensive and I ended up spending 15-20EUR / day only on those and for short car trips. the apartments next to the reception building suffer from the loudness of the Main Street just next to it. The gardens of this property are taken care of daily but, somehow, they still look like they could use more maintenance… The pools are small so I ended up spending all day outside of the hotel as the pool area would have been boring for me.
I booked a villa and they upgraded me to the bigger apartment, but I eventually decided to keep the villa. I loved the accommodation itself: plenty of room, comfy bed, great and new bathroom with a luxurious bathtub! Air conditioning functions perfectly! Theres a Landry service and a 7eleven next to the hotel, so you can have breakfast there if you don‘t like the hotel restaurant (overall, breakfast there was ok).

United KingdomIf you’re a light sleeper like me bring earplugs as if traffic doesn’t wake you the neighbours roosters will. The area wasn’t the best but thankfully the building works next door had stopped during our stay. The restaurant only served breakfast. No bar or room service. We were accused of stealing a teaspoon on checkout.. 😂

United KingdomThe breakfast was not good, eggs came out uncooked, the coffee was just packet granules like you get for free in the room in any hotel. We didn't eat in the hotel, and ate out locally. Highly recommend The Bua Restaurant, a 7 min walk away

United KingdomSmall resort but very quiet. Think there was only about 6 groups staying. Had to order breakfast the day before which was inconvenient. Only had it once in the 4 nights we were there as it was a bit full on service and quiet. Buffet would have been better. Pool side very slippy with weeds coming through the bricks. The resort would have been amazing when busier but I get the feeling they have let things slip since covid as it's so quiet. Felt a bit sorry for them as they are clearly struggling and it has the potential to be amazing.
Wonderful villa with very comfy bed and large bath. Nice quiet pool. Convenient 7/11 a short walk away. Quiet location out the main town but walkable in 15 mins. Wonderful welcome. Nice breakfast although we did need to order the day before. Impressive lobby and beautiful villas although a slight smell of damp. Was happy with the price we paid at only £60 a night for a villa. I have a feeling it would be a lot more expensive if all facilities were available if it was busier.
