We enjoyed everything about The Retreat. It's a quiet, beautiful resort. The owner and his staff are wonderful. There are free bikes you can use to go to the nearby beach and restaurants. We also enjoyed the included breakfast. When we return, we will stay here again.

Manager was extremely helpful… offered us a lift to our next place. Bikes are well maintained and an easy ride to the beach. Fresh free- range eggs every morning… great breakfasts! Honesty system for beer is a very welcome bonus! Very clean and comfortable… the little restaurant next door was the best…. So glad we booked it… it only has a couple of tables but we had great food and drinks!

Nothing really. I've never given a ten before!

It's very much new and boutique, having just 12 rooms in a very quiet location surrounded by trees and maybe 2km from the beach. The pool is small, but good for cooling off. Breakfast was excellent. There are plenty of places to eat on the beach and some shops on the way there. The resort has about ten bikes you can borrow, or walk down and get a taxi back. (There's a desk there for that.) Good for couples.

Everything! This place is perfect, Aop and suka are so helpful, always happy to make sure we got what we needed. Breakfast options were great, even as vegetarians. Location is good, next to a few local restaraunts and 10 minutes away to bang Niang market and khao lak village, easy to get taxi’s into these places at around 200-300bhat. Free bicycles, able to use the facilities when you’ve checked out, air con works well, the resort is clean everywhere seems well maintained and new. Nice little touches like fruit on arrival, fruit in an afternoon, able to take drinks out the fridge and write down what you’ve taken. A nice, safe, calm, relaxing place. We will definitely be back in the future!

Everything! It was so amazing!! The owner/manager is such a friendly man and he helps you with everything. Arranged an awesome snorkelling tour to the Surin Island, would definitely recommend everyone taking it. He also makes sure you get a big discount! We want to come back when we are ever in Thailand again!

This is a great, affordable family run property. We only stayed a short time for 1 night but we needed help to get a taxi to the airport during the lunar new year period. Everyone was very helpful to us to arrange this. Highly recommended.

I thought the windows of my room overlooking the pool could have had one way glass. Bit conspicuous.

Everything was perfect!!

Everything here was perfect. Right from the host to rooms to the location to food and the hospitality of the hosts. The host there named Por was very very good. She made sure that all our needs are fulfilled and she made our stay very comfortable in khao lak. She helped us in everything from arranging good food for us specially we being pure vegetarian. The property provides free bicycles to go to nearby beach which is khuk khaak. The beach is just 3-5 minutes by bicycle. They also provide bikes on rent. Their breakfast is very very good and have lots of varieties. Por specially arranged vegetarian food in breakfast for us. Por even guided us where to go, which beaches are the best one's to visit. They also help you with arranging the best island tours. Now lets talk about the property. One of the best property in khao lak. The property has a good swimming pool, greenary all around, mountains on one side. The rooms are much bigger and spacious and very clean, comfortable beds, spacious bathroom and very clean. You get to hear nature calls in the morning, you dont need an alarm clock there are very sweet hens giving wake up call which feels very soothing in the morning and cheerful. We had a lovely time here in this resort i would recommend this property for staying if you are in khao lak. All the staff people including the host are very good. You get good food here, cutlery is provided whenever required. Best highlight of the place is the free bicycles they provide to visit nearby places. The property is very well located, nearby there are many beaches. Must visit place when in khao lak!!!

What great value for money, friendly service, excellent breakfast in the room rate, bicycle's, scooter rental, walk to a couple of very good restaurants. Good size room and small shared pool for a cool off. Very quiet. We loved our stay.

Slightly isolated from eateries and activities but the compensation is quietness. Should have some bicycles with a baby/child carrier.

Very friendly, attentive and helpful staff. A quiet place with spacious and clean rooms. Great to have free bicycles. Good breakfast. Nice pool.

This is our 2nd stay at The Retreat and it was just as good as the first. Mr Op, his sister Por and Suka are wonderful staff and can’t do enough for you. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Breakfast is simple but perfect. The 1 speed old fashioned bicycles are free and ideal to get down to Khuk Khak beach. If you’re feeling adventurous, hire a scooter and explore the beautiful nearby beaches- Coconut Beach & Memories Beach are our favourites.

It’s very difficult to find something we didn’t like as we loved it so much! But, sometimes there was a shortage our hot water. Also, drinking water was unlimited (which was amazing) but a lot of plastic is used so perhaps they could invest in a water refill station instead to save the plastic use!

A fantastic place to stay! The place was beautiful, well kept and a definite ‘retreat’. The staff were super welcoming and accommodating. We couldn’t have been happier with our visit and will definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

A first class boutique feel hotel and the host Ap was the friendliest and most helpful owner you could wish for. Quiet location only a few minutes cycle to the beach or main street. Modern and very clean. Breakfast was included and was exceptional. We would definitely stay there again if ever in that area .

Well maintained, very clean, and the staffs are very nice You can rent a motorbike and go around the town, so the location is great for it I recommend this place for people who are looking for a small peaceful resort with a reasonable price

One of the best hotel stays in my life. Nice, big room, in pretty new hotel. Very good buffet breakfast, with both Thai and western food. Bicycles available to get to the beach, also scooter for rent at decent cost. And the service overall, they really try hard to make your holiday a great one.

The breakfast was good, unfortunately there was the same thing every day, a bit of variety would have been nice.

Very good hotel. Everything very clean and modern. The staff very friendly. We wanted to stay longer, unfortunately it was already fully booked. Next time I am in KhaoLak I will book it again.
