Everything was completely perfect.

The lady-owner was from the first minute so in detail, she helped us with everything! All the meals were delicious and the bungalow was so cute and practical. The pool was beside us and the sea just one step away, the perfect combination! We relaxed and were relieved from any concern, cause she even organised the motorbike for us!

My son would say his bed …I loved mine tho :) Nothing to not like .

Pen the host was very caring . I arrived sick and she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable . The room was lovely although my son’s bed was just a camp fold out which he wasn’t too pleased about . Free water provided which is a total necessary but over looked by a lot of places I stayed in Koh Chang . The location for me was perfect. Quiet and peaceful . In fact my favourite place on Koh Chang which is extremely busy and noisy on most of the other beaches . I’ve stayed all over Koh Chang and this is the best beach with the cleanest water . Come here to relax and recharge but not to party :) Enjoy nature and reconnect with yourself . Also two beautiful cats which was a bonus !

We don’t realize ‘grab’ and ‘bolt’ aren’t available in Koh Chang. Part of what makes this property so great is also what was a challenge. The property is a bit isolated. If we’d been comfortable renting a car or a scooter (both offered at the property)it would have been easier to see a bit more. We like to walk to see sights, enjoy live entertainment or to get street food, but you need to hire a driver to do that if you don’t rent a car or scooter. That’s all just a 15 min drive away. The hotel will help you hire a driver if you’d like. We feel it’s worth visiting the other side for sunset dinner and fire show at white beach, but Sunset Beach resort is the nicer place to stay if you prefer a peaceful and quiet vibe. The only fault I found was that the room didn’t have a tv as was stated in the description.

Sunrise Beach resort has been one of the highlights of our trip to Thailand. Our bungalow was right in the beach. We loved the sound of the water rolling up right outside the door in the morning. We called it “nature’s sound machine.” The food was really tasty at the restaurant and the staff was lovely and welcoming. The best part of staying here is how quiet it is! We felt like we had the beautifully maintained amber coloured sand beach to ourselves. Laying in the hammock next to the ocean, under the coconut trees and reading a book was such a treat. We also appreciated that the property offered complementary use of their 2 person kayaks and paddle board. The hotel next door offers inexpensive cocktails during happy hour. The beach bungalows are Sunrise were so much nicer than anything else available on this stretch of beach though!

Genuinely can't find a fault with it. Tidy out of the way resort, perfect for a restful stay.

Amazing friendly host, small occupancy accommodation which is never crowded. Amazing swimming pool (although the big killer tiled on pool bottom had me a lil confused) it was very clean and a great size. Wish I had a chance to order a drink at the pool bar. Rooms where fantastically sealed from bugs alike. First beach bungalow I've ever had where the bathroom is completely sealed!

This is a great place to stay. Away from the crowds in a peaceful beach setting. The resort is beautiful and well-maintained, the bungalow is clean and comfortable and the views are stunning. Last but not least: Pen and her staff are super friendly and welcoming. We felt at home instantly and had a lovely stay. Highly recommended.

If there was something, I´d write it...

Absolutely amazing staff that made everything possible. Also the lovation is perfect, if you seek a quiet place. very calm and clean beach. Amazing beach view. The infinity pool with view to the ocean is stunning. At night the pool is lighted up with blue LEDs, which give the Pool an amazing athmosphere at night. We were traveling with 2 kids and they loved the place. Everything is very cozy. The restaurant is also amazing. Food is great and you sit and eat 2 meters away from the beach and water. Amazing to eat there at any time of the day. Rooms are nice and well equipped with everything needed. We will return 100%, it was a fantastic time we had there.

This was a lovely little resort, basically a collection of bungalows dotted around an infinity pool, right on the beach. They served lovely pancakes for breakfast as well as eggs, bacon etc, and also lunch and dinner options were delicious. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice with en suite bathrooms, international power sockets, air con, tea and coffee facilities and a fridge.

The housekeeping could have done a little more in terms of room cleaning. But it was okay. The water in the pool was not very clean and probably could do with a better filtration system. Apart form that, I don't see any other thing that needed attention.

The property was really good. K. Pen, the hostess was magnificent. She was great, and looked after us throughout the stay. The breakfast we had before travelling back was exceptional. I've travelled a lot and never have I had such pancakes. It was delicious. The villa was comfortable and the staff were very friendly, especially the chef.

Absolutely nothing.

What an excellent resort on a more quiet beach. Located just a few minutes from the ferry and a 10 minute motorbike ride away from the main tourist area. This is a resort for those that look for the facilities of a resort, but don't want to be in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of a major tourist destination. A very nice restaurant with excellent personnel, a large swimming pool, many other facilities like canoes, supping, motorbike rental (they bring the bike to the resort and pick it up. So convenient.) Above all a very relaxed atmosphere with attention to details. They take care of literally all your needs. I tested it by having a little medical mishap. The way the owner and the staff took care of me was exemplary. Nothing was too much. Even my extended stay at the resort and assistance in changing reservations was handled in such a professional manner. I will definitely return to Sunrise Beach Resort and can recommend it to you.

Sunrise and owner Penn are great. The swimming pool is lovely, overlooking the sea and view to the mainland. Our villa was clean, comfortable and light and the dinner and breakfast were delicious. The resort next door has a happy hour for really cheap cocktails and it's literally about five steps along the beach. We preferred Sunrise and the east coast to Koh Chang's busier west coast.

Very hard to find anything we didn't like. In fact we loved it! The following were or are being resolved: The sunbeds need replacing but we know they are planning on doing this. The pillows weren't to our liking but Pen (the manager) gave us a choice, so this was resolved very quickly. No spirits and cocktails available but you can bring your own spirits and Pen will provide ice for you. They do have beer, wine and mixers/soft drinks. Also very good cocktails available at the resort next door for £2.50 each!

The owner/manager and staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and very personal service. The peaceful ambience of the resort was perfect for a relaxing holiday. Lovely beach front (2 strides away) rooms with straw roofs and traditional architecture. Safe and private. When it's full there are only approx 20 people in the resort and a few people walking along the beach. The rooms were spotlessly clean as were the public areas. All amenities were provided in the rooms including unlimited bottled water. The beds are huge and very firm. The food is all home cooked with fresh local ingredients and you could request a type of food or dish if it wasn't on the menu. Vegetarian dishes always available and all the dishes could be adapted to the level of spiciness preferred. The portions are huge e.g. the Tom Yum soup had at least 12 big prawns in it! Pen (manager) is very proud of her food and often came around to ask if there was anything else people would like and she would source it for you and prepare it the way you liked. The price of the food and drink was excellent value for money e.g. bacon, eggs, toast and jam, fruit, juice and coffee for £5. The most expensive main course was £5 on the menu for the evenings! The location is great for exploring the island but it is good to have some form of transport. We loved being away from the touristy west coast but still within easy reach of it. Very few children staying which suited us and it gave us an adult environment. Massages were available for £10 per hour and they were excellent. Free use of kayaks and Hrissto (the owner) would lend you his fishing rods and provide bait to fish from the kayaks. The beach is lovely to swim from (very calm and shallow) but water shoes are recommended because it is a little pebbly on the way in. Bird watching was fantastic just in the resort and the sounds early in the morning were amazing. Good wifi for each area/room, getting 21 mbps download and 37 upload.

- if I need to be picky and raise one thing to other visitors - dont expect a wonderful/white sand beach (its not at this side of an island), but still pool is making up for it🤩

Not an issue for us this stay as we were fortunate that most guests there were not sun worshippers, but there are only 5 loungers at the pool and 1 on the beach. You should also count on renting a scooter for some of the time while you are there to get to the main part of the island for a visit, cabs are expensive 400 Baht one way.

The setting was serene, it is a small resort, only 8 cottages, very nice and quiet and extremely clean. The beds were comfortable. The pool is lovely, and warm, beach front cottage was amazing, hubby loved his time in the hammock right beside the water. The food at the restaurant was exceptional. The owner was very accommodating and helpful, and the staff very friendly. We were able to rent a scooter from the hotel for the same price as in town. We would definitely return.
