Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsBreakfast was average. We thought to be able to get a hotel cycle but the cycles were for transport on the premises. The city might not be the best for cycling anyhow.
Great swimmingpool and good place to stay before crossing the border of cambodja when arriving by train. We saw real horror stories on internet to cross the border but all in all, it took only less than 2 hours from this hotel (who ordered the tuktuk for us), crossed the border and obtained a visa and 1km walk to our taxi pick-up point in cambodja.

ThailandThe velo is in a great location and the decor is all cycling based, which is quirky but well done. The staff were all very friendly and spoke good English. Breakfast is buffet style with a good choice. I had a pool access room which was great for me as I was travelling alone

GermanyGood location for Thailand Visa run. Very clean ( but forgot sweeping balcony). Principally well refurbished but rather recent fixtures In bathroom loosely attached - just the fault of the installers. And I would have preferred a less hard mattress and a working reading light. All in all good experience because of super friendly and supportive reception staff.

United KingdomThe only two small complaints would be that it's a little expensive for what it is - in downtown Bangkok it would be about 500bht a night cheaper. But while there is no real competition and no other hotel in the area offering this same level of hotel, it is OK. It really is head and shoulders above all other hotels in the area. The breakfast was also a bit disappointing. No coffee machine (but had a pot coffee), and the cooked breakfast area only had a few choices. The Western cooked options were omlette, cheap sausages and ham, and a fried egg, and only 2 Thai hot options too. For the price of the rooms, they should offer a much wider spread of breakfast items. Still, it's enough to get you fed and going for the day.
There isn't much to see or do in the area, this is more the kind of place you have to visit for a specific reason rather than plan it as part of a holiday/tour. But saying that, it's a very nice place, and from what I have experienced it's the best hotel in the area by far. The rooms are very clean and comfortable (we took a pool view room which is large and includes a sofa area), the gym isn't amazing but enough for a quick 30-40 mins of basic fitness, and the pool is very nice. It also has a unique cycling theme and has a BMX race track and some other bicycle services.

United States- The toilet seat was broken in the toilet - The shower floor is extremely slippery when taking a shower. There is no handle to keep from falling and it was like walking on ice when in the shower. As an older person (70 years +) I am always nervous about showers and bathtubs that do not have an kind of anti-skid material on the floor of the shower or bathtub as I've fallen several times in the shower in hotels and once getting out of a bathtub because floor was so slippery. - The steps leading up to the rooms have no railing on the wall. Again the black marble steps are very slippery/slick and easy for the foot to slide out from under when trying to walk up or down the steps. - The in room safe did not work, nor were there any instructions for use or how to enter the lock, I kept getting an error whenever I tried to enter a code and then hit # to what is normally locking. - The night stand was not clean...very dirty with dust. - The rooms are very noisy; the TV was loud next door to my room and I could hear it all through the wall of the 2nd and 3rd nights. Walls do not seem to be sound proofed.
I stayed at the Velos Hotel for 4 nights in December, 2023. I liked the concept of cycling throughout the hotel (I am bike touring SE Asia) and that I was able to keep my bike inside the hotel as it is very expensive. Bed was comfortable as was shower and WiFi was good in room.

United StatesI was prepared to give this hotel 10 out of 10 until the last night when there was a party in the ballroom and music blasting until 11pm. This absolutely ruined our stay, and was the final straw in my use of Booking.com.
Everything was going fine until we came back after a long day to music blasting from the ballroom.
