It’s a small place totally ind the countryside, connected to nature. ( you’d need a scooter ) Houses are clean and air conditioned. The staff is very helpful and you can go feed goats nearby. Oh and the monkey herd visited us ♥️ great for walks in the countryside and quiet and rest. If you need 7/11 and bars it is far away from everything on the island.

    Nothing!

We stayed in the tents. They are protected under little cabins so you get a bit of outdoor space too to keep your bags. The toilet and shower facilities were clean. There is a fridge stocked with bottled water that you can help yourself to for free. We were collected from the pier by the family on a tri-scooter, and we also were taken back for our departure - also free of charge. The lady in charge took us for a tour around the farm, we fed the goats and cuddled the chickens. It’s such a beautiful spot, she grows all her fruit. We saw monkeys and cows. I highly recommend if you’re a nature and animal lover like us. You can also eat at the property - we had dinner one night and the food was fabulous. We felt very looked after.

You will need to drive a moped to get about, but I think this is a comment on the island in general as it doesn’t have any public transport

Amazing!!! The family who run the resort go above and beyond for you, they even transported our luggage to the pier after checking out and organised everything. It felt like a homestay and they treat you like family. We stayed in a bungalow and it was perfect, no complaints at all! Best stay in Thailand

In general nothing we didn’t like. It isn’t a full service resort but the staff helps out in every way possible and are just genuine friendly. The only negative thing to say: we just booked it for one night. We will be back for a longer stay next time :)

The general atmosphere was amazing. If you’re looking for a nice place in between nature for the purpose of having peace, that’s the right one! Simple and beautiful. We booked it for one night mainly because of the previous recommendations and to experience something different than beach and hotel. A thank you to the previous people dropping recommendations.

It‘s amazing herr, our tent was spacious and the little hut for our tent had enough space to keep our belongings close to us. There where enough facilities and the even had hot water shower! All in all an amazing placr to stay in Yao Yai Island, especially if you have a scooter (which I recommend anyway on this island, just rent it straight off the pier!) :-)

I would highly recommend staying in one of the bungalows, which are spacious with nice verandas. The tents are not so spacious - just big enough to accommodate a double mattress.

The location was lovely and peaceful, free from road traffic noise, with buffalo and goats grazing nearby and monkeys coming out from the mangrove forest to play in the early morning. We were exceptionally well looked after by Jan and her family, who helped us with bookings, and provided free transport to the jetty and local beach as well as organizing bike hire for us. The breakfasts and dinners were tasty and great value.

The bathroom in the room could’ve been a bit cleaner, but understand it’s an outdoor cabin and therefore affected by weather etc. It wasn’t an issue and comes as part of the charm of the family run venue.

The food was amazing, although the venue and resort are alcohol free due to religion the host is very amenable and goes out of her way to make you feel accommodated in this respect upon request. The family were so lovely and literally couldn’t do enough for us, organising a moped, picking us up and dropping us off, and offering recommendations and booking activities on our behalf. The food was all homemade and really delicious!

Immersive experience with great rooms in one of the few remaining "untouched" tourist locations.
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Deluxe Bungalow
    • Stayed 4 nights

These are not really negative points, just some facts that you should be aware that come with the remoteness of the resort. You may encounter wildlife in "unexpected" places like we did after we foolishly left our shoes outside overnight (facepalm). I would strongly recommend renting a scooter or else it will be difficult to get around (For example, we did not see any stores within a few mintues walking distance). The hosts were incredibly helpful getting us to places but I would of course not want to bother them because I need a bag of crisps from the store.

We had an incredible time at Yao Island Resort and Farm, which is located in a beautiful part of the island with mangrove forest, jungle and some traditional thai houses around. The Deluxe Bungalow (cabin) was spacious and very comfortable with a big bed. The food was great and we got to cook together with the hostess as well. We cooked papaya salad and pad thai. But probably the best part of our stay were our hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay on the island and I am sure in a few years time we will remember them much more vividly than, say, the beaches. That included not only also cooking amazing dishes for us (breakfast was included, other dishes costed extra but great prices), but also taking us on a tour of the island and driving us to places to catch transportation, since neither of us has a license to drive. We would definitely go again and recommend it to anybody that wants to get in touch firsthand with the culture and the people of the island.

We were incredibly pleased with our stay. The accommodation, nestled in the enchanting jungle, exceeded our expectations. The family treated us like royalty, being exceptionally kind and helpful. From providing a diverse breakfast to assisting us with everything we needed, the family's hospitality made our stay truly memorable. The cottages were well-equipped, clean, and offered a delightful retreat in nature. An unforgettable experience enhanced by the warmth and assistance of the wonderful family.

Nothing to not like! It was more than we could’ve asked for. Loved everything about it - we didn’t want to leave!

It was a very enjoyable, local and rural environment where you can immerse yourself in nature and relax. It’s a family run business where nothing is too much to ask for. The owners are extremely accommodating with smiles all around making you feel like part of the family. Small language barrier but the staff will always make effort to combat this. All the facilities you could possibly need and so much wildlife at your doorstep.

It was great if you had a scooter to get to places. But the owner did give rides to a beach 4 km away. One afternoon I was driven to a beach further away and taken to the bank. Which was certainly above and beyond service.

The owner was particularly attentive, and would go out of her way to do things for you.

The whole island has mosquitoes, especially at the beaches.

I had an absolutely incredible experience here in YaoIsland resort. At first when I got here I was worried because I don't know how to drive a scooter and the island is not super walkable, but my worries were quickly squashed by Jam who organized rides to different beaches for me every afternoon to watch the sunset and check out different parts of the island. This island is beautiful and the hospitality, good food, and sheer beauty at YaoIsland Farm makes this a place worth visiting. I had such peaceful sleep to the gentle white noise of nature. I rented a tent and it was super comfortable. Each tent has a roof built over it so even when it rained the tent stayed dry and also the roof keeps the tent shaded during the day. Ask about a farm tour. There are baby goats! They were able to accommodate me being vegan as well.

We had a wonderful stay in YaoIsland Resort and Farm with the sweetest hosts.❤️ The bungalows had everything you need and were very comfortable and clean.
