Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaKitchen could be better equipped for self catering, example at least one sharp knife and peeler for prepping vegetables and a colander for draining pasta. Family room (sleeps 4) has poor ventilation for those who prefer not to use air con 24/7.
Easy access to main tourist attractions. Yusuf, the accommodation attendant, was very friendly, helpful and efficient. Initial rooms provided (sleeps two) had balconies and good views.

BulgariaThe bathroom was a bit moldy and had a broken toilet flush button.
The place is located in Sultanahmed district, a walking distance to the main attractions. The room had the basic necessities, so it is okay for a short stay. Take ear plugs with you as the walls and floors are paper thin, literally. Guests can use a nice patio in a hotel nearby (we had no balcony in our room). The host Yusuf was extremely responsive and very kind. He found us a free parking spot close to the hotel.

QatarThe smearing off of services and goods at higher than usual rates. It's so in expensive most people will tip anyway no need to mark up prices! House keeping was not the best and the sheets on the bed were broken
It was cheap and in the area we wanted. You won't need a taksi as everything is walking distance.

The room was spacious. Everything we previously agreed with the host, Yusuf, was respected. Most of the tourist attractions are located in the area. I went to Istanbul to explore the city, not the camera. The room was clean, spacious and had the equipment from the presentation. I got free coffee in the morning. I had the option of having breakfast at the Nuray hotel, very close to Amida, but I didn't choose it, however, in the morning, I saw the breakfast prepared and it seemed OK. Yusuf assured me that I would find a parking space and it was. I spent most of my vacation on the streets of Istanbul, and I just slept in the room. there were also minimal equipment for cooking in the room, but I didn't use them. Thank you Yusuf,, if I come back to Istanbul I will always call on you,

United KingdomThe hotel owner is friendly and helps with any question! The location of the hotel is excellent if you are in the city for the first time. There is heating, a minimal kitchen set, bed linen, towels, slippers, soap, shampoo and toilet paper. Everything in the apartment is as in the photo. You can pay either in cash or by card. ItalyVery attentive host, super location in Fatih. The refrigerator works great. Tiles too. There are frying pans and pots, so you can cook food at home if you wish. Sound insulation is satisfactory. Cleaning is timely. Yusuf resolves all issues instantly, very respectful and friendly. I think the price for the room is reasonable. Special thanks to Yusuf for the timely organization of transfers from and to the airports. The cost of transfers is slightly below the average for Istanbul. Thank you for an unforgettable holiday in the Great City of Istanbul!!!

AlbaniaI saw almost no shortcomings.
The pleasant manager Yusuf kept in constant contact via WhatsApp. We met at the agreed time. He brought additional plates at our request and replaced the faulty microwave oven. Cleaning every day! There were all toiletries and a hairdryer. Plumbing is fine. The room is warm, the heating is on. Excellent WiFi. We were allowed to leave after lunch with no questions asked. The location is great. Within walking distance there is a tram stop, shops, supermarkets (Juice and Snow), many cafes, McDonald's, as well as attractions: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Topkapi... Quiet and safe area.

RomaniaI think it is best to go to such touristic places without a car.
I liked absolutely everything, what is written in the "dislikes" paragraph are just flaws. As soon as I booked the hotel, they wrote to me on WhatsApp. For accommodation in Istanbul, we wrote the Wi-Fi password, name and what the hotel can offer. The rooms are clean and air conditioned. There is a kettle and stove for cooking. If you are coming by car, you can park free of charge in the empty spaces on the street, also Yusuf was always helpful in case of availability, thank you very much.

United KingdomThe bathroom had no ventilation because of that it was very smelly
I booked a one-bedroom apartment at this hotel, hoping to have a spacious and cozy place to stay. However, when I checked in, I was appalled to see that they had given me a small room instead of a one-bedroom apartment. The room was cramped and dirty, with stains on the sheets and dust on the furniture. The bathroom was unventilated and smelled horrible. It was nothing like the pictures on their website. I complained to the staff, but they were unhelpful and dishonest. They claimed that the room I got was a “one-bedroom apartment” and that they had not cheated me. They were rude and dismissive of my concerns. I felt cheated and betrayed by this hotel. They lied to me and gave me a terrible service. I would not stay here and not recommend any one to stay.

United KingdomThe room had a little kitchen but there was no fire distinguisher nor fire protection, being a safety hazard. The property was only equipped with smoke alarms. As well as this, the building had no fire exits and being multi story this is concerning. The flush for the toilet was leaking constantly and making noises that were disturbing during the night. The living room (bedroom) was extremely unventilated, causing humidity and an unpleasant stay. I sent this complaint to booking.com but didn't hear anything back from them regarding my booking and this negative experience .
I booked a two-bedroom apartment at this hotel, expecting to have a comfortable stay with my friends. However, when I arrived, I was shocked to find out that they had given me a one-bedroom apartment and called it a “two-bedroom” apartment. The living room had a bed in it which they advertised as a bedroom. This was very misleading and unacceptable as a bedroom cannot have the multi use of a living room due to privacy concerns. When I challenged this with the staff, they became argumentative and rude. They refused to admit their mistake or offer me any compensation. They said that I should have read the fine print and that this is what I get in Istanbul . They treated me like I was the one who was wrong and unreasonable. I was very disappointed and angry with this hotel. They ruined my vacation as I was very embarrassed in front of my friends as our money was wasted. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It is a scam and a disgrace.
