Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineBooked this guesthouse for 1 night, paid 10$ in march 2024. Guest house consists of 3 floors. There is a shared kitchen on the ground floor. Toilet and bathroom also located there. RECEPTION: Woman was very helpful and friendly. ROOM: I lived in the number on the second floor, "Double or Twin Room". Overall the room was quite good, with air conditioner, 2 beds, small table. But it was cold inside, so we had to use air conditioner. Also light from the street was disturbing all the time, since there were no good curtains. SHARED BATHROOM: Had no experience with shower, but the room was looking small and uncomfortable, same with the toilet room. Towels are provided, gel and shampoo not. CHECK OUT: 12:00

Poland- no terrace in the room (there was a terrace in the building though) - no sight on garden, sightseeing point nor the city in the room - even the window in the room had a ground glass and was covered by a faulty blind, so I had to use electric light even in a daytime - no internet connection in one of the evenings - no electricity in one of the evenings (different one than above) - no toilet paper nor cosmetics - a lot of dirt and dust everywhere I'm oot saying that some of the things mentioned above are necessary, but they were advertised...
- close to the city center - nice lady from personnel - a cat :-)

United KingdomMy only qualm is that the room wasn’t entirely clean. Had hair on bed from what appeared to be multiple other individuals. But this didn’t bother me too much to be honest as the value for money was there.
Absolutely loved the location. Right in the centre of old town. Great value for money if you are looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay. I would say and authentic and rustic experience.

United KingdomThe room was a bed in a shed. The garden has a few wooden sheds (like huts/cabins) which wasn't what I expected in the pictures of the room I was booking. I would have been O.K. if it was expected. I had trouble the first night with the heating, but it was late so left it and was very cold in the morning, but then got it too work. Directly outside is a bench where people sit and talk at 2am, but then again there is an outside washing machine that was on to around 3am as well. The toilet and shower are v basic (cages with covering material in the garden: not recommended for single women), though they work. Good for travellers who don't want a hostel.
On a quiet side-street off a main street in Antalya, the location was great. Very close to trams too, as well as many shops and Hadrian's gate (Roman gateway) and places to eat all around you. Nice house with character and felt safe around the area. The bay and old town within walking distance. A good, economic choice, with a nice cat and dog too!

SpainI didn't like that the description of the property was misleading. The house is 150 years old and not maintained well, like an antique. (The woman works hard to keep it clean and functional, though). It is an economically great place for one or two nights in transit.
I liked the manager who listened to my concerns and tried to find solutions. < his daughter (coworker), not so much> I liked the location: even though the building is in an alley, it is in Old Town within walking distance of many stores, restaurants and 2 beaches. The price is good- you get what you pay for!

Unlike previous reviews, we didn't see any mice or cockroaches, but the bungalow was in fact an air-conditioned wooden shed. The bed was comfortable and the location was great for the price we paid. With a bit of TLC and a change of clientele, this could be a great little place.

Slovakiathere is a mouse (or maybe mouses, hopefully not rats) that comes at night, makes noise and have eaten from my food in my suitcase (keep your suitcase always closed), for someone who is afraid of mouse this might be very scary; the hosting family is smoking in the hall and speaking loudly until late in the night (2 a.m.) and some guests are very loud late in the night too; my ordered room was occupied on my first night, after trying to accommodate me in a terrible tiny bungalow in the backyard they vacated and prepared a host´s room for me (it was OK with internal bathroom, but a lot of stuff everywhere, and of course the mouse...); the temperature in the shower cannot be regulated, either it is cold (stage 1 of the heater) or too hot (stage 2 of the heather), nothing between
very cheap prices; located in a side street directly in the city center of Antalya, just minutes from all shops, eateries, attractions; the staff is very friendly, although mostly speak only weak English; good working wi-fi; air-conditioning (for me without surcharge although some reports say they charge extra for it); good comfy beds; they gave me a bigger room (tripple room instead of a double room); you can always find a parking space in the streets not far from the house; for the price I paid I cannot complain and cannot expect a palace and I would come again even knowing the minus points...

SpainThe room was very dirty. Even though the bed was comfortable, it was basically just a mattress on top of wood pallets, and I believe it had not been cleaned for a long time. A concerning issue related to dirt were cockroaches. We brought food to the room once, and soon after leaving it on a chair, we saw 3 or 4 of them had eaten the bag and were eating its content. So, I would suggest going for this pension if all you need is a cheap bed close to the city's busy area. Another issue of the room was the power outlets' situation. There were two of them in the room: one in the bathroom, which felt the safest and more reachable, and another one by the door with an extender attached to it. The latter didn't feel safe at all as the extender was very old and dirty, and it was placed so high up that it was complicated to use.
The private bathroom was decent. And the price was OK for what you get, especially given the location of the place. On the other hand, the bed was nice and comfortable.
