My room was very small (as they often are in these repurposed family mansions). It would definitely be too small for a couple with their luggage.

The management and staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room amenities - hot water, air conditioning and lighting (especially bedside lights) were excellent. The breakfast was superb. And the location is great, being close to the museums, market and the spectacular fish pond and surrounding mosques.

A very lovely family-driven hotel with the kindest staff that will help you with every problem or need you might have and they are always open for a chat. Nice clean facilities in beautiful old historical buildings, delicious and filling breakfast, and a good central location near the centre to e.g. Balıklıgöl and other tourist spots - as well as good parking conditions just outside the hotel, in case you travel by car. Thank you for a lovely stay! I will definitely come back if I find myself back in that region again. :)

Sanliurfa gets very smoky in December-January with farm field clear burning and increased reliance of wood burning for heating.

it's proximity to historical sites ther castle caves park and downtown.. the food is amazing the employees go above and beyond , and very clean, the family who runs this place is very passionate living and inviting to every guest - like many guests i joined for tea chat and some snacks through tour the day... my only regret was not staying longer this is as true gem... don't miss it !

Wonderful hospitality. Quite fine and filling breakfasts, served in courtyard garden. I was there for week. Shifted rooms at hotel's offer, from lower to upper terrance. Both very nice, comfortable. Plenty of hot & generous shower water from private heater tank in bathrooms. Excellent location. Many sites and restaurants within easy walk. Nice little market across street for snacks, drinks, and (in my case) toothpaste. Staff introduced me to another American tourist who spoke Turkish. Very thoughtful hosts. And they engaged me with driver for day trip to various sited. Definitely will be back to Astarte.

This is my second stay at Astarte Hotel and it is truly a relaxing oasis. The beds are comfy and the shower is amazing, and the rooms have historic character. The surroundings are beautifully decorated by the owners which makes a difference. The breakfast is amazing as is the ability to have Turkish coffee or tea any time of day. I enjoyed trying to practice my Turkish while sitting in the lobby. The courtyard is a nice place to eat their delicious (and huge) breakfast or to do some work. the location is great for exploring historic sites like Balıklıgöl (Fish Lake), Urfa Castle, Cave of Abraham, Kızılkoyun nekropolis, historic markets & streets, and the many great restaurants. Erzu and Ibrahim will gladly recommend places for you to eat or shop at, and may help to arrange trips to archaeological sites like Göbekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe, etc. Ali, Serhat and staff were all helpful and available all the time. If you want a unique and local experience with good people, book a stay here.

It's a hidden jewel in a crown absolutely beautiful. The hotel rooms are clean and fresh. I would recommend everyone to stay here. Historical places are in a close vicinity. The hotel owners are a wonderful family and are very helpful.

Soot from the chimney was falling down in the atrium. Cigarette smell in the room.

Very good location, only a short walk from the castle and other touristic sites. Friendly and helpful owners and staff. The breakfast was excellent and suitable for vegetarians. Comfortable and quiet rooms.
