The shower worked well but needed a revamp desperately , it was manky . The size of the room was a bit difficult but we managed for two nights .

The building its self was amazing . I couldn’t stop looking at it . The location was amazing too. The service of breakfast was very good .

Overall, the hotel is not ready to receive guests. Breakfast was poor. Fried eggs extra to pay. To get the receipt for cash payment, I had to do many follow ups.

The only issue for me was the bathroom - there was a smell in there and could do with a very, very good clean, especially by emptying out the drains. Other than that, there really are no complaints.

Very spacious hotel, beds were comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly, check-in was very smooth I like a shower with a lot of power, and the shower definitely delivered. Toiletries also were provided by the hotel.

They gave me a non-cleaned room. The bathroom is very old and dirty in general. Make sure you check the bathroom before using it.

Our ‘non-smoking’ room had strong smell of cigarette smoke and cigarette burn hole in sofa bed cushion. After air conditioner ran for some hours, smoke smell decreased to a tolerable level. Overall cleanliness was an issue. It was clear our toilet had not been cleaned since the previous occupants – I won’t elaborate on the evidence. This prompted us to use our own supplies to wipe down everything in sight. Might I mention – we’re still trying to come out of a pandemic! Hotels should be going overboard to provide clean, safe environments. We did not observe any hotel employee wearing a mask the entire week we were here. While much of the facility is ‘open air’, we asked the housekeepers to wear masks when cleaning our room. They resisted and apparently didn’t even have masks. This gets to an overall observation regarding the staff. We never felt that this was a professional team with any degree of training in the hospitality field. There was no element of overt friendliness or a welcome atmosphere – that’s just our impression, of course. But attention to detail – little things that can easily be remedied were just left ‘as is’. The curtains in our room were dangling from half of their plastic hooks, there was a burned out light bulb, missing handles from the dresser door and drawer, a kettle with the prior occupant’s water still inside, etc. And on our 6th day in the hotel, there was no water all day. The desk staff explained it as an equipment failure that would be repaired. The owner told us it was a water main break in the town and therefore not the fault of the hotel. Strange that the nearby restaurants and shops we consulted had water all day long. Enough said.

Interesting historic site in a perfect location – close to the marina and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Even so, it was extremely quiet at night, so we slept well in the large, comfortable bed. Adding to the comfort – an efficient AC kept things cool in the room. The room was large enough for two people to move around easily. There was a safe for storing valuables and small refrigerator. Many of the earlier reviews mention poor WiFi connection. While we did agree that WiFi was weak and inconsistent, we were able to connect and do the things we needed to do; so we will not enter that in the section below. Also there is a lift to access the rooms on second level.

During our stay air conditioner was broken, full night we suffered instead of relax. Stuff said that this is problem everywhere in Izmir/Cesme. This was not true, AC worked even in Marina's shops (2 minutes away). We asked standard ventilator - it was ignored. Real shame for such service!!! No free parking (however parking was mentioned in hotel description). It could be super hotel (location + history part + price) but unfortunately it is disaster just because basic things are not followed.

The breakfast was fine till being told on the second day that we had to buy coffee if we wanted some. Had to ask for new sheets and blankets because they smelled awful. Had to ask for toilet paper. Had only 4 channels on TV all in Turkish. Air conditioning didn't work well. The elevator wasn't working 3-4 x. The driver from hotel they sent charge us more money than they quoted to get us from airport to hotel .The floor in the room was filthy. They asked why we wanted two sheets and we told them where we are from you have top sheet and fitted sheets. They didn't want to give us another one. We were disappointed for sure!!!

Its sad to see such a nice building being so poorly treated. The cleaning service is awful, the rooms and bathroom arent clean and you dont even have soap/shampoo.

the hotel was in the center of carsi. It is decorated in accordance with the historical ambiance. The price was in the city average. We stayed in a 10 square meter room. They gave us a room on the ground floor. There was no glass or balcony in the room. Do not choose if you have a little claustrophobia. We could not dry our wet swimsuits and towels. Despite the fact that the parking lot is free at the entrance of the hotel, the hotel does not have its own parking lot and there is a paid parking lot next to it, but it is quite expensive. A hotel that I will not choose again.

They would have and amazing hotel if they invest in it. The rooms are very old, there is a lot of humidity and the floor, walls and bathroom were very dirty. If you are international and book with booking they wont be able to charge you your stay and in 6 hour you will receive a message saying that they couldnt process the payment and that its cancelled… The young staff is friendly although they dont speak any english.

The only thing that I didn’t like about the room was the lighting system ,all in white which is disturbing for the eye. The room had too many needless lamps. I recommend the hotel to place two night lamps with red lights on the two sides of the bed instead of all these lamps.

The location of the hotel is in the center itself just opposite off the public buses to go to the beaches. The room is good but it lacks some of daylight because the window has a view over the courtyard of the hotel.
