How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No good resturants close by. All are geared towards tourists making them very expensive.
The location walking distant to attractions. Metro station not far away. Friendly front deskyavus, sylia, and Anestasia all were helpful.

There was nothing i didnt like about the property.
It was in a nice area located by local shops and the main square. The property itself was decorated well and felt homely. There was access to a wellness spa, bar/cafe & restaurant with an amazing view.

The hotel was in the perfect location, surrounded with beautiful restaurants and amongst all of the great city attractions, all walking distance. The staff were superb and were most welcoming and happy to assist with all of our needs. Would definitely recommend staying at the DoubleTree

Dust. I think room cleaning could be better, i would prefer to have wet cleaning in the room, as there was a lot of dust. It looked like that behind the TV hadn't been cleaned for a month and the same with other hidden places in the room.
The professionalism of hotel staff was amazing. I would like to thank Ersin, who was the first who we met at the reception. He was really friendly and pleasant. We got a promotion to the bigger room and free breakfasts from the hotel that was very nice after a long trip. Also, i would like to highlight the hospitality of cleaning service and Anastasia, who was responsible for the guest relationship. All were amazing and helped us in every request. Staff of the Double Tree made our stay comfortable and warm. Thank you, guys.

Everything was perfect
Great location in the center. Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms. We were proposed room upgrade free of charge and birthday pie as a surprise at breakfast.

The only thing disadvantage in the hotel is a small room. the room is a small but I think that because of the location, it seemed that most of the hotels is this area, They have a small room which will be understood because of the location.
The receptionist Mr yavuz he was wonderful very helpful, he finished all the process very fast. he's one of the amazing stuff, I ever saw and I met. the hotel location is perfect is a close to markets, a close to shops, a close to Sultan Ahmed, it is in the center and makes you visit enjoyable. Everything is a close to you.

Hotel is hard for taxis to reach in peak traffic so ensure you have their number to call for directions. In general the hotel is seeming a bit aged and breakfast was slow as the hotel was very busy

The location was very convenient and accessible to old city attractions. They offered spacious room, nice breakfast and a free access to their Sauna / Turkish bath (self service). The hygiene condition was good. Front desk staff were polite and helpful. Will stay again if we come back to Istanbul!

The location, cleanliness, food and the staff. Ersin and Sylia at the front desk were the best I have ever met. Ersin upgraded my room to a one bedroom suite at no cost. I will surely stay in the hotel again.

All was ok but note that the roof terrace view is ok for the Bospherus view, but the height of the tree line is blocking most of the view towards the blue mosque.
Superb location close to lots of sites and restaurants across the street and around the corner. Tram line 1 will take you even further. Nice touch was the welcome package which had included some snacks, fruits and a nice warm chocolate oatmeal cookie. Tours and boat trips can be booked easily in the hotel or are close to the hotel to organise yourself.
