Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BulgariaAll was good
The old style house, the ceiling, the architecture of the building .The great work they have done to combine old with new so its comfortable for us nowadays. The staff was very polite too. The place is in the heart of the town and we could park our car right in front of the hotel and walk to the centre for 3 minutes. The breakfast was also very good and enough. I recommend this place.

United KingdomBest host ever! Helped us with so many things including booking bus tickets to Istanbul (harder than you might think if you don’t have a Turkish credit card), and a late night Edirne liver tasting at his downstairs pub!

United StatesThe bathroom was tight, but since it is a renovated Ottoman mansion, there's not much they could do about it.
It is q small hotel in a renovated old Ottoman style mansion full of wood, old furniture, and charm. There's a small courtyard where one can relax and have a beer. It is very near the renovated synagogue and about 10 minutes walk from Selimiye mosque. The location is perfect. It is also very near the market and commercial walking street. The staff are lovely and professional. The rooms are comfortable and charming.

BulgariaAs a side note - not all of the staff understand English, but we got by without a problem. In one of our rooms, the hot water had to wait 1-2 minutes to come, but then it's fine. In my opinion, the hotel is a bit dark, but it gives an authentic atmosphere.
Personally, for me, the hotel is very nice. Restored old house, with themed furniture, as seen in the pictures. It is well maintained. It is not far from the center. You can easily walk there and back. Parking is provided in front of the hotel. The breakfast is excellent. The rooms are bigger than my expectations.

RomaniaThe sound insulation, but the cause is the eood inside the building. Also, the light in the room was poor and I must mention the lack of bedside tables.
The location is very close to the city center. The building is incredibly beautiful, renovated from an old house into a lovely small hotel, maintaining all the old objects/art objects and the otoman style. It looks like a cosy museum that I loved staying in.

BulgariaI think It was a little bit more expensive than it should be. There was no Parking. The parking is the street and in front of the hotel there are cameras to watch the cars. But the parking spots which were covered by the cameras were taken so our car was parked outside the camera's visibility. Nobody spoke to us in Bulgarian and the people we met in the hotel didn't speak Bulgarian - something which was highly announced. I expected a little bit more attitude from the people.
The breakfast was good and had quite variety. I would recommend to change the variety with a little bit more quality and it will become great

United KingdomThe only thing was the breakfast, there could have been more variety such as a few more fruit, vegetables, few more cheeses etc, and I hardly give reviews over breakfast, so...
Great location, less than 5 minutes to the centre and close to many cafes and restaurants. The building is historic and stunning inside, you get a real taste for what it must have been like during the Ottoman period. The outdoor partio is lovely, and buying a bottle of wine from the hotel (it was called Edirne and was recommended by the owner-it is an excellent red wine and we both recommened it) it was so nice drinking it out on the patio in the evening. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, a fascinating man you can have a great talk with and learn a lot, he has many stories to tell. It was very quiet at night and the bed was comfortable, the room was nicely decorated, and the interior of the hotel was also nicely decorated. The breakfast room was very nicely decorated with many treasures the owner purchashed through his travels, with each piece telling a story.

Croatia-
It was our 2nd stay in this hotel. We booked it because of good reviews and we didn't regret. It was clean with really comfortable beds. The building is awesome, staff friendly and the breakfast really good. It is located just a street away from the center and the parking in front of it is under video surveillance (great for bikers). For sure I will pick again the same hotel when I will be passing through Edirne
