Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandThe staff are very nice. They cooperate with the guests and the food is good, but the rooms are very cold. The arrangement only works with air. There is no heating at all. Also, the bathroom is very cold. There is air leaking from the windows.

United KingdomThe Hotel describes itself as 4 stars, which is an exaggeration. It may have been 20 years ago but hasn't moved on and modernised accordingly. The advertised swimming pool is the size of a hotub and incurs additional costs to use.
The hotel is situated in a busy yet friendly area with plenty of good local restaurants, cafes and shops . The staff at the hotel were extremely polite and helpful.

Slovakia- hotel needs a little bit renovation/repairs - small fridge is useless because it cannot hold cold and everything is room temperature - location as said is good but very crowded and a lot of cars in nearby main road - windows in the room are thin! Even when closed you can hear 90% of noise outside - breakfast are doable just because its in price of hotel. If I could choose to have cheaper rooms with no breakfast I would do it like that
- Staff (reception and housekeeping) were great! They helped us in many ways we needed. - Good location in terms of being close to mosques (4 stops by tram) - AC was working even when it was old one for everyone unit

SwedenI won't say this hotel was a 4-star hotel, more like a 2-star. The common areas/lobby were not pleasant to hang around in. There were some sofas and that's all. The area in which the hotel was very busy, and even if you had the windows closed you could hear the road and yelling long into the morning. Also, you could almost hear everything your neighbors did/said. The walls are very thin. The Aircon. did not work, as it was very humid and warm in the room. The beds and pillows were rock, Was very uncomfortable. The staff was, and especially the nightguard was very rude and not helpful at all. Would NOT stay here again.
Decent value for the room. The cleaning was good and they cleaned every day if you wished. Breakfast was ok but not much to choose from.

And could not help me in thus regards, I complaint about it .simple answer was we don't know you might have lost it outside . But I was sure I left it on my side table ,when we came back ,watch wasn't at its place. 2) hotel wasn't in the same looking and condition what I saw photos on booking.com. 3)first bedsheets change was after 3 days . 4)breakfast food quality wasn't great 5)fridge and safe wasn't working asked them to change it. 6)tea kettle was there but no cup, nothing else . 7)generally hotel smell wasn't nice . 8)they have not maintain house keeping and cleanliness on daily basis . 9)wonky toilet seat ,kind of broken ,when you sit moves on the side. 10)soap after opening crumbles . 11)in the shower room there was no soap holder or where we could put ,shampoo etc . 12)shower holder wasn't right always goes upward as it wasn't properly fitted 13)torn of duvit cover In a nut shell we felt we been robbed as they advertise them as a four star hotel .

RussiaEverything… No toothpaste, bo water, no balm, nothing… everything is greasy and awful. No bathrobe of course :) The kettle is the pearl of the room, have a look at the pics.
This is the worst place I’ve ever been to. They advertise also as if they have sport facilities and a hammam but of course the receptionist told me it’s all closed, no gym no pool nothing. But the worst is how dirty the place is…I nearly vomited when a minute after starting a shower someone’s shaved hair came out of the clogged pipe supposingly… I escaped right away. With all due respect I don’t know who you need to be to stay in such a place… They need renovation and better attitude I think.

United KingdomFirst day they took money from us before they mentioned about the room and couldn’t provide the right room to us. Second day they promised to give us a better room but it was not even 1 star. The room was dusty, unclean, the toilet was so dirty, water clogged in the shower. After asking several times they didn’t fix anything. Room service cleans toilets and basin with our used towels. The behaviour of the stuff was so rude. We were so afraid that we couldn’t even complain to Booking.com. Disgusting experience. I would never give them even 1 star. Sadly Booking.com rated them 4 star. I want a full refund.
Nothing except the location is almost central.

JapanThis hotel disappointed me in many ways. Firstly, when I reserved this hotel, I saw on its booking.com profile (corroborated by other hotel sites that list this hotel) that there is a "fitness center" on site. But when I arrive there was none, even when I showed them the websites listing said facility on their property. The receptionists were often cold and distant and didn't seem to have good English in many cases and this made communication difficult. Speaking of communication, I had written to the hotel weeks in advance that I wanted a room with a bathtub but when I arrived this wasn't provided. Furthermore, the other guests were often extremely unruly and loud yet the staff did little to control them. One particular incident happened on the morning of Wednesday, September 20th, when I attempted to exit the hotel to explore Istanbul at around 11 am, only to see massive fist fight just outside of the building (and partially in the building, as several belligerents stormed past me to go in and out of the hotel to fight) involving what appeared to be other guests, employees of the hotel, and random bystanders. I also didn't appreciate how the water in the hotel wasn't drinkable, which should be a given in a hotel and has been in almost every hotel I've stayed at (the hotel not providing cups was also a disappointment, as this is another thing I expect from a hotel, especially one with such a good reputation). The wake-up service was also sporadic in its effectiveness, as when I first asked for it during my first night, it didn't manifest and no one called to wake me. But on the second day it worked. The breakfast cafe was also quite lacking in variety and there seemed to be hygiene issues as well. Moreover, when my room was cleaned, my toilet paper wasn't replaced unless I specifically asked for it (in Turkish no less, for which I had to get a friend to help) and this also annoyed me.
The spa/massage service was great. The people working there were polite, professional, and did everything they could to give me what I wanted. They were also open to compromise. The location being within walking distance from Yenikapı station also helped.
