CanadaRooms smell of smoke but I expected this so I wasn't too bothered. Bed wasn't the best but again, you get what you are paying for, so I was expecting it. Good value for the price, I have no complaints.
Walking distance from Kars Castle and from Ani bus pick up spot. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, buffet style with various cheeses, olives, veggies, breads, eggs, jams, etc. Coffee and Tea always available. Good place, thank you!

AustriaThe room was quite dirty and there were strange smells that we couldn't get rid off even after opening all the windows etc. Some bathroom facilities were broken. I don't really understand why they didn't give us a room with working facilities since the hotel didn't look fully-booked to me. The breakfast was ok but not exceptionally good. Other reviews are right that there's liquid on the floor and the bread is not fresh.

Excellent hotel very well located in the city. Close to the castle and the main streets. The room was great, big and comfortable. Very good beds and nice bathroom. The staff was very nice and cordial. The breakfast was good, I just missed some kind of juice for those who are not drinking too much tea but I know that is weird in Turkey. When I go back to Kars I will definitely stay in this hotel. The best option!

GermanyKars has a lovely historic center and the hotel is very centrally located. This must have been a wonderful hotel… once. Nowadays it has lost much of its charme. The rooms are very run down and especially the bathroom with its mouldy shower is unacceptable. The delicious breakfast and friendly staff, however, cannot make up for the desolate state of the hotel.

AustraliaSmoking presumably allowed in room as ash tray provided so smelt heavily of cigarette smoke and so left windows open during stay. Note that this establishment does not accept card - cash only.
It is important to acknowledge that this hotel is in a less developed region of remote Türkiye which is largely unknown to foreigners and so have reviewed on this basis - expectations would be higher if in more popular destination. Hotel was dated and a bit gloomy but it was in keeping with the city in a way. Hotel very clean and room was spacious and had all the required amenities for a comfortable stay. It was also very cheap - I paid the same price for a private room that I would otherwise pay for a dorm in other parts of Türkiye. Staff spoke little English but were helpful and friendly. Kars castle only a short walk away. Within minutes of mentioning i needed to go to the airport, a taxi was waiting for me! Wide spread of foods for breakfast., which was included in price. Good option for budget traveller.

Costa RicaHeating in the rooms (we visited in winter) could improve. Maintenence details, especially in our bathroom. The toilet seat and shower door were literally falling off. Our room wasn't cleaned once during out stay but I think this might be our fault, as we didn't request it at reception. Maybe they don't do so automatically. Cultural differences perhaps?
Staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Location is excellent, a short walk to the castle. Wifi and hot water worked well. I get the feeling this hotel doesn't cater to foreign tourists but more to local working men who are passing through the area. So, it's important to have your expectations in check when visiting. The standard is different. For us, it's fine. This is why we travel. To experience another way of life. But for others I know it might be a bit more sensitive. Either way, for the low price it's OK and we were comfortable for our 3-night stay.

TurkeyThe location of the Hotel was so easy to find, extremely close to the main points of the city. The rooms were large and the heating system of the room was excellent. Everyday our rooms were cleaned and they replaced new slippers, towels and water bottles. From the reception to management, even the breakfast, everybody was always helpful and smiling. We were even late for breakfast one day but they still opened service to us, which they did not have to. To sum up, We are highly satisfied of the accommodation and planning to stay again in our next trips.
