How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The breakfast must be better. We expected more of it.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Nice and clean room. The food we had for dinner was delicious and the service in the restaurant was good. There is a big parking space if you travel by car. The location is not in the center but we stopped for one night to split a long drive so it worked great for us.

Located in a new residential area, away from the noisy crowds and traffic the hotel has spacious and luxurious rooms, free parking, and very friendly staff. The place is an excellent value for money.

Be carefull when you use your card for payment! In any case you should prefer the local currency in order not to be charged extra for the so cold "BENEFITS" to see the bill in your own currency.
This is my second stay. The staff is nice. There is enough place on the parking. I had a late arrival and although there was a party at the restaurant I could park my vehicle.

We stayed at Hilly Hotel after a long drive from Europe and our last destination was Turkey. It was extremely close to the Edirne Kapikule border. We arrived at the hotel late evening and they upgraded our room to a suite room with no extra cost. I had booked a classic room originally. This was a very nice gesture. Staff were exceptional, polite, willing to help and always a smile on their faces which makes a difference! Breakfast was amazing, didn’t think we would receive such a large breakfast with different options. Would definitely recommend Hilly Hotel. Very nice stay. Worth the money paid. Thank you!

The only major thing we didn't like, actuially, the exact word is disappionted of was the breakfast. Reading the hotel reviewes giving excellent rate for the breakfast, expected that it would correspond to the rooms quality and staff service but it wasn't. No choice and poor variaty. Better to skip it and have proper breakfast somewhere else. French fries for breakfast... I have never seen such option in any hotel I've been at.
Exceptional, modern style hotel with kind staff and huge, very comfortable rooms and bathroom. Booked standard double bed rooms but we were pleasantly surprised by the staff accomodating us at business type room, bigger with balcony. Thank you!

The rooms are a bit amortised. A slight renovation would make it great.

The breakfast was better last time we visited the hotel, needs to be improved. The lobby opens at 11.00 AM, so there is no possibility to have an espresso in the morning.

Our rooms were located towards the main street and the gas station behind the hotel where it was very loud even during night time. There was no A/C in the room to keep it cool and the rooms were quite hot even in April. Also, the breakfast needs improvement as it was strange to have french fries early in the morning.
The rooms were quite spacious and very well cleaned. The staff at the reception spoke english which was great and they were very helpful. Special thanks to all of the people who work at the Restaurant “Serenita” - amazing food, great environment and all of the bartenders/servers were professionals providing one of the best service I have seen all around the world.

The hotel is not close to the city center, but you can use very cheap taxi.
The hotel is modern. The restaurant is great. Ye rooms are big.

the breakfast was served to you with no choice of what you like . on the day we were there we had one slice of polo my meat no eggs . the rest of the plate was full of cheese , so if your not a lover of cheese it was disappointing :(

Difficult to say, but maybe an additional door to protect against the other guests noises on the same floor would make this hotel perfect.
Exaggerated luxuriant breakfast, nobody can eat so much ! Cozy restaurant with fine menu for dinner and very kind waiters. One of the cleanest room I ever used in a hotel, with perfect bed sheets and crystal clear bathroom.
