Water and toiletries were provided only on the first night. Lady staff manning the dining area for breakfast was rather unfriendly and rude.

Breakfast- no choice They make you pay for breakfast, the buffet is hard boiled eggs, and Turkish fingers food. If you don’t like it then you pay for omelet or orange juice.So I didn’t eat. So do not bother including breakfast. Eat out!

The tramway was close to the hotel and they start construction on it from 23.00 till 03.00 in the night you could not be in youre room so much noise. Of course not the hotels fault and they give us a room on other side of the hotel.

The rooms don’t really look like the pictures, but I may have been in a part of the hotel not yet renovated (There seemed to be 2 sections) I was hardly in the room, so not really an issue.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location is great and I kept finding new things nearby. Breakfast was good, lots of cheese.

Slightly tired decor upstairs. Lack of bedside table on one side of the bed. Having to get out of bed to turn off the lights. Please help us all preserve water and electricity by not washing our towels every day - if we hang them up it signifies that we are happy to reuse them.

I booked economy double room (2 separate beds) and when I arrived room I was given was a single bedroom with 1 queen size bed. I was told hotel is full and therefore we were given this room. Next day I requested change of room and while staff reacted promptly they insinuated that I booked room I was given. I ended up getting much bigger apartment (3 bedroom) but it was above street level and was noisy, TV in the room was tiny and placed in the very corner of the room so it was basically unusable and remote didn't function. Room was not cleaned daily although I went to the reception desk and asked for it.

Locqtion of the hotel is excellent. Easy access to tram line and marmaray. Breakfast was great. Staff friendly and polite. All staff wears masks and disinfectants are placed inside the hotel in multiple locations. Staff reminds guests frequently of necessity of wearing masks if observing someone not following these safety guidelines.

The room had a small shower but it is a minor. Everything was top notch.

The hotel staff especially Mehmet and the front office staff were extremely helpful, respectful and kind. They really went the extra mile in assisting us even giving advice on local attractions. The breakfast had reasonable options, most of which are Turkish. The room was clean and well made on arrival.

İpek Palas Otel İstanbul The historic hotel, situated in the heart of Old Istanbul, just a few minutes walk from most of the major attractions, is aptly named. It’s decorated and furnished in a manner befitting an Ottoman palace. The rooms are very comfortable and kept immaculately clean. Although their style is old the equipment is modern with TV, internet, hairdryer and kettle, a very minor criticism is that we would have liked more drawers. There is a beautiful roof restaurant with a panoramic view of the city. The hotel arranged our private airport transfer for less than half the price our daughter was charged by Love Holidays for an overcrowded minibus, and less than the meter fee. They also give a slightly better rate of exchange than the exchange bureaux. Breakfast is the usual excellent Turkish breakfast of fruits, salad vegetables, olives, eggs, cheeses and cooked meats. The best feature of this great hotel is its staff, especially Mehmet, the front of house manager, and İlyas, the day porter, who go out of their way to be helpful. This is the eighth hotel that we have stayed in in Istanbul and we will definitely stay here the next time we visit this amazing city.
