Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere was nothing not to like. We liked it all!
From the moment we were met in the street by our host who came to help us with our luggage with a smile and a ‘nothing is too much’ attitude to the over and beyond help to ensure our stay was the most relaxing. Nurcan the owner was so thoughtful and generous in everything that was done for us. She ran an operation that was well thought out and slick. Ilahe, her assistant was amazing in showing true hospitality. I can drive us to the Ephesus site via Artemis. She drove us to the train station in the morning. They rearranged breakfast times to fit in with our travel. They recommended great eating places. All done with an amazing smile and generous spirit. There was nothing to fault and all to praise about this wonderful place. It was so tastefully renovated. Roomy and airy and exceptionally clean. The interiors were modern with a touch of traditional. Our bedroom was so clean and roomy. Our bed was so comfortable. There was a bar fridge where they said help yourself. All free. Never heard of this before. Generous!! Bathroom had a brilliant shower and was so clean and roomy too! We had the budget room but you would never know. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

I have never seen a hotel on Booking.com only getting 10 stars. I think the lowest was 9 stars and that was one or two. Having stayed at Ephesus hotel and art gallery I can understand why people rate this property so highly. It is such a great experience. Lovely hotel set in a quiet neighbourhood. Very tastefully decorated rooms and a lovely courtyard to have breakfast. The breakfast was fantastic and so varied. But what really sets this hotel apart is the excellent customer service. Nurcan and her team were incredibly kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. You can see that they really care that you have a fantastic experience. Nurcan went above and beyond and even dropped me off at Ephesus. And Ilhme (hope i have the name right) was so lovely - we ended up having a couple of conversations, went for a drink and even went with me to get my bus to Izmir airport. I can honestly say that staying at Ephesus hotel and art gallery was such an amazing. I only stayed for 3 nights but wish I could have stayed longer. Also Selcuk is such a great place to stay - lots to do in the town and beyond. I ate at Amazon restaurant which was just next door two nights running - the food was excellent. Thanks for making my holiday so memorable.

United StatesThe hospitality that the staff provided was some of the best I've ever experienced. They worked tirelessly to make sure our needs were met including preparing our breakfast earlier, helping us with navigation, walking us to the bus depot, and ensuring our stay was truly comfortable. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Selcuk/Ephesus!!

Breakfast was amazing, most of it is homemade, and you get to try a lot of different dishes. All are wonderful, the coffee is really good. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and the bathroom has hot running water. The location is perfect, walking distance to the temple of Artemis, the basilica, the castle and the mosque. There are nice bars and restaurants close by.

Truly felt like a home away from home. Room was very spacious but at the same time cosy. Breakfast was top notch - candied pumpkin was a delicious discovery that we haven't found anywhere else! Best thing about the accommodation is the staff that go above and beyond to make you feel like family.

NorwayThe hotel looks modern and new and has a greek theme. The owner is super kind and helpful. When we arrived she served us tea and sweets. She even drove us to Artemis Temple and Efesos on the first day and later drove us another town when we left. This wonderful hotel is close to town and Efesos and some minutes walk from Ayasoluk Castle and St. Jean Church. There are also some good restaurants nearby. We rented room with a beautiful view from terrace. There is a cozy garden where they serve Turkish breakfast. The breakfast is excellent, rich and delicious.

SingaporeExcellent service from the management and staff of the property! Their attention to detail made our 30th Anniv celebrations more memorable. They also obliged us us with a slightly earlier breakfast since our jet lag allowed us to wake earlier. Staying at the property is like staying at a large home with different members of the family. Bonus historical fact: the property is a few hundred metres away from the Temple of Artemis ruins (a former Seven Wonders of the World; 550 B.C.). Safe neighbourhood with cafes and restaurants. Best to be self-driving to visit Ephesus, Mary's House, etc.
