Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaHowever, there were some drawbacks that slightly tempered the experience. Occasionally, the room felt a bit chilly, and the limited number of sockets made charging multiple devices a bit challenging. Additionally, the presence of torn wallpaper on one of the walls and some dust in the closet and bedside tables was a bit off-putting. On one occasion, there was an unfortunate encounter with a cockroach. While the breakfast offerings were adequate, they fell short of being particularly hearty.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Lotus Hotel, and overall, it was a satisfactory experience. The warm welcome and attentiveness of the hosts created a friendly atmosphere from the start. Their hospitality extended to providing me with a generously spacious room, and they were consistently eager to assist with any inquiries I had. One of the notable positive aspects was the reasonably good internet connectivity, allowing me to stay connected seamlessly. The additional table provided in the room was a thoughtful touch, enhancing my convenience during the stay. The hotel's location proved to be advantageous, with cafes, bus stops, and a waterfront promenade conveniently nearby. Plus, the presence of friendly dogs and a cat downstairs added a charming and homely touch.

RussiaThe room wasn't clean enough - there was a towel in the wardrobe and some food and drinks in the fridge from the previous guests, i suppose.

HungaryThe room was not completely clean (for example dirty bed sheets) and a little bit far from the city centre. There are 2 mosque near the hotel, from which you can hear the prayers loudly late at night and early in the morning.
The staff was very kind and helpful and the breakfast was plentiful. There are many shops and bakery in the area. There are 2 dogs and a cat in the hotel.

MoroccoI've already made a complaint about this booking without any return . ill re-explain, the room wasn't a twin bedroom as we requested and paid for, the bathroom /shower was very dirty we couldn't even use it , the room hallways were full of random objects, sandals , mattresses .. the hotel looks nothing like the pictures even from outside .... and the most important thing was the room doesn't get locked even with the keys .. we couldn't even sleep afraid of our safety . we have arrived the 27th at 2am we had to stay there and as soon as the sun was up we got out and looked for another place . so we only stayed there for one night . please take in charge .

New ZealandMany things need to be fixed or tidied up. Lights were too bright for a cosy atmosphere. Not much to do or see in the neighbourhood but not far to more interesting areas.
The staff are helpful and friendly and they have lovely dogs. It is a short walk to cool restaurants in Balat and Fener, as well as tram and bus stops.

UkraineThe rooms are old, dark and need renovation. It's not a hotel to enjoy the city. That's a reasonably affordable and clean place just to sleep and escape.
The owner was a very nice, kind and friendly man. He tried to do his best for me to feel home. Despite many people complaining about breakfast, it was fresh and enough to eat. The area is full of the not expensive handmade cafe to get any food. The price for the stay was not expensive. Parking in this area is a big problem, nut the owner offered to take care of it. Very nice person. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable.

PakistanNothing because I like everything about the property.
The Hotel is located in Fatih at the best location where neighbours are also friendly and language barrier is also not that much. The metro station is on walking distance so you can easily go on it and visit the historical places in Istanbul. The owner of this Hotel is a very kind person and helpful too so I would recommend others to stay in Lotus Hotel and Enjoy your stay in a peaceful environment.
